For years we have been drawn to a short trip to the land of the Doubs. On the first day we cross Alsace, reach Sundgau shortly before the Swiss border and then drive along the Doubs river to our hotel in Villers-le-Lac at the Doubs reservoir. On two day tours we discover the Dessoubretal with its waterfalls, the beautiful town of Ornans on the Loue, the source of the Lison, the wine village Arbois, Pontarlier where Absinthe is distilled, the lonely regions above the Lac de Neuchatel and Lake Geneva ...

Travel profile:

1. Day

Start in the Southern Palatinate and through Alsace into the Sundgau and on to Villers-le-Lac. (340 km, travel time 5 hours)

2. Day

Day trip Goumois, Dessoubretal, Ornans, Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne, Source du Lison. (250 km, 5 hours)

3. Day

Day trip south to the Lac de Neuchatel, Morbier, Arbois, Pontarlier. (260 km, 5 hours)

4. Day

Through the Sundgau into the southern Vosges and to Lauterbourg. (330 km, 4 hours)

Final dinner and individual journey home.
