Our tour begins with a night ferry crossing from Kiel to Klaipeda. Relaxed and full of excitement, we set off on a journey through the up-and-coming Baltic States. Only a few days later, crossing the border into Russia becomes a first adventure. It takes time. In several stages, the "border guards" stamp the personal documents and every smile on their serious faces is worth its weight in gold. Our tour guide speaks perfect Russian and will help you with all formalities. Thanks to his help many a door to hospitality and above all to a quick entry is opened for us.

Today we visit the Zemaitija National Park and visit the Cold War Museum. The journey continues along the Neman River (Memel) to Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania.

Our first stop will be at "Grutas Park" - here an interesting collection of sculptures by Lenin, Stalin and many others, which were removed from Lithuanian cities after 1990, awaits us. Afterwards we ride on small side roads with numerous curves, which bring us to the famous water castle Trakai. In the afternoon we reach Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Today there will be no hotel change and the riding day to the National Park Gauja will be a little shorter in terms of kilometres, but it will offer us a lot of interesting impressions. In the small town Sigulda we will have a break and have a look at a little of what this town is so famous for. Here you can find the largest cave in the Baltic countries, the Gutmans Cave, and also the legendary bobsleigh and racing sleigh track with its 16 curves. A stop at Jägala Waterfall awaits us and in the early afternoon we reach Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. During an evening walk through Tallinn we explore the city and visit the modern Estonia Memorial, which commemorates the 1994 ferry accident. Today's daily stage will be shorter, giving us more time to experience the old town.

Day 10 - Arrival in St.-Petersburg

Today we reach the destination of this trip - St. Petersburg, where we will spend the next 3 nights. Every year this city experiences a miracle of nature known as the "White Nights". It is a short time in summer when the sun does not really set and the night becomes day. Crossed by numerous canals, St.-Petersburg is also often called the "Venice of the North" and exudes a special touch of mysticism and romance during this time. Experience an unforgettable night tour with the Petersburg Metro to the festively illuminated Neva bridges. The highlight of the trip is the folding up of the bridges, which only open at night to allow large ships to pass between the Baltic Sea and Lake Ladoga. In the twilight of the "White Nights" this experience will remain unforgettable.

Day 11 - City tour St.-Petersburg

The multitude of cathedrals, palace facades, the Hermitage and the golden glittering tower needles are reflected in the picturesque canals. We will have enough time to explore this city with all its sights. Together you will experience a journey full of knowledge and endless stories of St. Petersburg life - stories, before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, which are so interesting that you will want to listen for hours and which you will not find in any travel guide.

Day 12 - Ride to Peterhof, visit

Today we visit the Russian palace complex Peterhof. The site is considered the "Russian Versailles" and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. The 150 fountains built in the form of a staircase are switched on at 10:00 a.m. every day. We will arrive here exactly at this time to experience this spectacle. The trip to Peterhof is made by hydrofoil, which gives us the opportunity to experience the entire panorama of this wonderful city from the water.

It is a "crossing" where comfort will not be the first priority, it does not matter, because it is the end of a wonderful journey with endless impressions. We will find plenty of time to look back on the experiences of the last few days in a cosy, maritime atmosphere.
