Romania has much more to offer than just the myths of Count Dracula in Transylvania. For example, there are passes in the Carpathians at over 2000 m altitude, such as Transalpina and Transfagarasan, which are among the most beautiful mountain roads in Europe.

Our journey takes us through the legendary "Iron Gate" along the Danube with its powerful currents, which were once feared by sailors,

Come with us on a journey through time to the historical past of the beautifully restored medieval towns such as Sibiu, Sighisoara and Kronstadt. Let your imagination run wild when you visit Bran Castle, the home of the legendary Count Dracula. We will also visit some of the Vltava monasteries, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites for a reason.

An adventurous trip through the Bicaz gorge as well as a visit to a very peculiar final resting place, which is called a "happy cemetery" (in Sapanta), promise varied days.

Day 1:

Individual arrival of the participants at our starting hotel in the Salzburger Land. During a cosy dinner we will introduce the tour and get to know each other. Hotel Steinerwirt

Day 2:

After an extensive breakfast we ride a short distance on the motorway towards Salzkammergut past Fuschl and Wolfgangsee in the direction of Styria over winding roads to our hotel just before the Hungarian border. About 360 kilometers.

Today we reach Hungary. Our way leads us to Lake Balaton, where a break is planned. Continuation through the Pannonian lowlands to our hotel in Baja on the Danube. About 330 km.

Day 5:

Our today's day leads us along the Serbian border to the Danube to the "iron gate". The Danube breakthrough used to be considered a dangerous shipping passage. Also worth seeing is the 40 meter high rock statue of the Daker king Decebalus. Our destination today is Baile Herculane. About 200 miles.

Day 6:

For today, one of our highlights is announced, the most passable road in Romania, the TRANSALPINA with its 2154 m height and over 150 km length. In the evening overnight stay in Hermannstadt. About 140 miles.

Day 7:

After breakfast we leave Sibiu. The next highlight awaits us - in the truest sense of the word. It goes up to an altitude of more than 2000 meters to one of the most famous high alpine roads of Romania, the Transfagarasan. On a length of 100 km of winding roads we have breathtaking views of a fascinating panorama. We will continue to Bran, where we will spend the night near the famous castle of Count Dracula. About 200 miles.
