On this enduro tour through the western regions of Georgia we can test our bikes on absolutely all road conditions. Our tour starts in Batumi, the relaxed tourist metropolis with a warm, subtropical climate on the Black Sea and ends in the imposing mountain landscape of the mighty Caucasus. The most spectacular part of the motorcycle tour awaits us in the Svanetia region, which boasts the highest peaks and most beautiful landscapes in the country
"The guest is a blessing from God" - true to this motto, visitors to Georgia are welcomed. These are not just empty words, but rather a particularly warm and unconditional hospitality that has characterized Svanetsia for thousands of years. The always welcome guest is granted every wish and no effort is spared to satisfy him completely. It is in the nature of Georgians to take life in a relaxed way and to turn even the most unimpressive events into a celebration. They are not looking for the special occasion to celebrate, but live the exuberant mood in their everyday life, despite the often difficult life situation. In Georgia, humanity comes first and you can be sure that you will never have to stand alone at the roadside in case of a breakdown. With all the good atmosphere, food and drink are a must. The Georgian cuisine seduces with hearty dishes, accompanied by spicy wine and local spirits like Tchacha. Which guest could refuse an invitation to such a feast for the senses?
Delicious Georgian cuisine
It is amazing how the Georgians can conjure up such tasty dishes under simple and modest conditions! The secret is obvious: it is the mixture of fresh ingredients and local herbs, prepared with love and care! On our tour you will get to know the cuisine of Swanetia with its traditional dishes. Our special extra: Hobby cooks get the opportunity to prove their skills in culinary matters on our motorcycle tour through Georgia and to prepare a delicious mountain dish under local guidance.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer
Upon arrival at Kutaissi airport, there is a bus transfer to Batumi (approx. 1 hour) followed by check-in at the hotel. You are free to take a break or alternatively to explore the city. The modern city of Batumi on the Black Sea is the number one holiday resort in Georgia and the relaxed holiday atmosphere combined with the mild subtropical climate invites you to relax and to get to know more of the city. In Batumi we find a peaceful mix of different nationalities, cultures and beliefs. Also in terms of architecture there is harmony between old and new and modern skyscrapers meet antique buildings. In the afternoon we will have a test ride to make sure that each bike is suited to its rider. At the end of this exciting day we have dinner together in a local restaurant. Motorcycle trip around Batumi After breakfast we have another motorcycle check followed by an off-road test ride towards the Turkish border through subtropical forests and the local settlements. In Batumi there is up to 90% humidity and it rains frequently and heavily. Our Enduro Trip today consists of single trails through lush vegetation on red, partly rocky loamy soil. Please note that the test ride in the terrain is weather dependent. Special feature: In order to spend this day in the forest, we need passes from the local border police. Please take your passport with you, preferably in a protective cover. Return to Batumi in the evening.
Day 2: Batumi - Goderdzi Pass (Small Caucasus)
Today starts early and already at sunrise we say goodbye to Batumi and set off through the subtropical forests towards the Semo-Ajaria region. The first 50 km we ride on an asphalt pass road along the Ajariszqali River, which is lined with lush green vegetation and eavesdropping natural landscapes. The mountains in Ajaria do not reach the impressive heights of the Caucasus but offer a lot of exciting variety during the ride. Our motorbike tour is rich in ups and downs and refreshing river crossings. We pass numerous picturesque mountain villages and then reach the Goderdzi Pass (3000 m) in the small Caucasus towards evening.
Day 3: Goderdzi Pass - Abastumani - Kutaissi
Today we ride our Enduro motorcycles to Kutaissi. The road conditions are very varied and your riding skills are in demand. Until noon you will ride right across the small Caucasus, past a number of shepherd villages with their characteristic regional wooden houses. Alpine meadows await you with a magnificent view of the idyllic landscape of the famous Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. We continue downhill to the health resort Abastumani where we have a lunch break at the Baratkhevi River to recharge our batteries for our further enduro ride. Here we enjoy a feast of freshly caught and deliciously prepared river trout. In the evening we reach the second largest city of Georgia, Kutaissi. In the course of its long history the city was once the capital of ancient Colchis and later of modern Georgia. Kutaissi has a compact and cozy historic old town, which is well worth seeing. Optionally, after our arrival you can visit the monastery complex "Gelati", where one of the most important kings of Georgia "David the Builder" is buried. The monastery is one of the most important buildings of Georgian art and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 4: Kutaissi - Mestia region, Swain
The most impressive day in terms of scenery awaits us today, as one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in the country takes us into the heart of the Caucasus Mountains to Svanetia. However, before we make our way up into the high mountains, we will visit the famous Prometheus Caves, famous for their stalactites and stalagmites. After this interesting stopover it is time to storm the mountains.
The region of Svanetia is located in the northwest of Georgia, on the border with Russia and is one of the most popular tourist areas of the country. The picturesque small town of Mestia has developed into a real tourist magnet in recent years and offers a wide range of attractions and services, which are increasingly geared towards motorcycle tourism. You will certainly agree that Mestia is at the top of the list of top attractions for every motorcycle enthusiast, an absolute must! Despite its popularity, the town has remained down-to-earth and in the evenings you will meet local herds of cows strolling through the town on their way home. On our motorcycle route we visit original villages where time has stood still and the way of life seems to have remained almost unchanged for centuries. More than half of our ride today is off-road, through the breathtaking landscapes of Swaanetia in the mountainous region of the Great Caucasus.
Day 5: Mestia - Ushguli - Mestia
Our Enduro destination today is Uschguli, the highest inhabited village in Europe at about 2200 m. Here you will find the famous fortified towers of Uschguli, a UNESCO world heritage site. Uschguli's altitude allows us a breathtaking view of the spectacular surroundings, with its steep slopes and the snow-covered mountain peaks of the Caucasus. Around 5 pm we return to Mestia and can once again admire the highest mountain in Georgia, the breathtaking Shchara (5,200 m).
Day 6: Mestia - Kutaissi
Our Enduro journey through Georgia is coming to an end. We ride downhill and enjoy last views of the mountain landscape of Swanetia. After a 5 hour ride we reach Kutaissi, the final stop of our tour.
Day 7: Return flight
