Guided Motorcycle Tour of Uttarakhand's Himalaya

The Garhwal motorcycle tour begins in Delhi, where a transfer takes you straight to Rishikesh – the “capital of yoga” on the banks of the Ganges. From here our Himalaya motorcycle tour India sets off on well-built but lightly trafficked mountain roads, past roaring mountain rivers and rugged rocky landscapes. On this Royal Enfield tour India we mostly stay below 3,000 metres, so altitude sickness is never an issue – yet the snow-capped six- and seven-thousand-metre peaks are always looking down on us. Countless curves wind past tea stalls deep into the Himalayas.

Highlights

Discover Rishikesh

In Rishikesh, this motorcycle tour lets you feel the spiritual atmosphere along the Ganges. In the evening you join the fire ritual at the ghats, before setting off the next morning on your Royal Enfield up into the mountains.

Sacred Badrinath

The day trip on this motorcycle tour takes you to the most important of Garhwal's four holy pilgrimage sites. Amid colourful temples and sadhus, you experience a side of India that stays hidden from most travellers.

Climbing High to Auli

On this motorcycle tour you reach Auli, the highest point of the entire trip at 3,027 metres. From here you look out over snow-capped six- and seven-thousand-metre peaks and spend the night high in the Uttarakhand mountains.

Onroad in the Himalaya

This onroad motorcycle tour of the Himalaya follows paved yet barely trafficked roads deep into the mountains – past mountain rivers, rice fields and rugged rock landscapes up to over 3,000 metres above sea level.

Kumaon and Garhwal

This tour links Kumaon with Garhwal to form one of India's holiest regions. Tens of thousands of pilgrims travel here every year to the four religious centres, while you ride along quiet mountain roads.
