Romania Motorcycle Tour: Ride the Transfagarasan

Your motorcycle tour of Romania starts near Vienna: after the meeting point and loading the luggage into the support vehicle, the ride continues via Hungary straight to Oradea. From there, this Romania motorcycle tour takes you deep into the Carpathians – over lonely mountain passes, past the 'schnapps capital' Salaj, and on to Cluj-Napoca. This guided motorcycle tour of Romania combines Transylvania, the Borgo Pass and Bukovina with its monasteries into a varied route, before continuing on toward the Danube Delta.

Highlights

Transfagarasan Pass Ride

A highlight of every Transfagarasan motorcycle ride: switchbacks climbing to 2,042 meters, the glacial Balea Lake and views across the Southern Carpathians. This mountain road ranks among Europe's most spectacular and stays in your memory.

Carpathian Mountain Passes

This Carpathian motorcycle tour crosses remote mountain passes through forests, past the Borgo Pass and Bukovina. Winding roads and light traffic make this section of the trip a genuine rider's experience away from the main routes.

Transylvania's Churches

On this Transylvania motorcycle tour you'll visit medieval fortified churches, picturesque villages and towns like Sibiu and Cluj. Saxon history meets Romanian hospitality along the winding country roads of Transylvania.

Danube Delta by Boat

On this Danube Delta motorcycle tour you'll swap your bike for a boat for two nights: pelicans, herons and rare plants define Europe's largest wetland, before you continue on to the Black Sea and back to the hotel.

Romania Round Trip

This Romania round trip combines the Carpathians, the Danube and the Black Sea into one complete route from and back to Vienna. A support vehicle, a local guide and fixed accommodations ensure comfort on every stage of the twelve nights.
