It extends between the Saarland, Hunsrück, Hesse, Baden and Alsace-Lorraine.
It includes the Palatinate Forest, which covers one third of the region (1771 km² is the largest continuous forest area in Germany). The highest mountain is the Donnersberg with 687 m. Our tours start in the wine region of Southern Palatinate.
A region that is perfect for us bikers awaits us. Well developed country roads with countless curves. The evening will end with a multi-course dinner in the cosy ambience of our tour centre.
Day 1: Individual arrival at our starting hotel until 18:00. Tour briefing and getting to know each other over a cosy dinner.
From our starting hotel we first go to Hambach to the Hambach Castle, then via Neustadt an der Weinstraße to Bad Dürkheim. Then via Lindemannsruhe to Donnersberg and on to Falkenstein (the steepest mountain in the Palatinate with 25 percent). Then on to Otterbach to the only motorcycle museum, which is located in a former church. The next stop is Johanniskreutz, one of the most famous biker meeting places in Germany. Then back to our starting hotel via small, well-maintained paths.
First we ride along the Kalmithöhenstraße towards Elmsteiner - Tal (Saturday/Sunday/holiday closed for motorcyclists) then to Trippstadt and further on small roads through the Western Palatinate. At the end of the tour we pass Trifels Castle and return to our starting hotel.
Today we are heading towards Pirmasens. We ride to Dahn past the castle Berwartstein to Hinterweidenthal to the Teufelstisch. After a short detour to the Alsace, the route returns via Landeck Castle.
The last tour takes us to Alsace and the Vosges mountains. Through the Southern Palatinate it goes near Notweiler over the border to France. On small winding roads we cross Alsace, past the ship's hoist at Arzviller via La Petite Pierre to today's destination, the dabo.
From up here (660m) we have a wonderful view over the region. On the way back we make a stop in Wissembourg and at the German Wine Gate.
