The winding roads of England and Wales are the terrain of this motorcycle tour - so riding fun is guaranteed. You have a whole day to explore the typical English countryside of Cotswolds with its small cottages and villages before heading for Wales. You will reach the beautiful coast of Pembrokshire and through the Brecon-Beacons and Snowdonia National Parks. This means that steep coasts, secluded bays and barren mountain landscapes are just as much on the agenda as lush green valleys and pastures inhabited by sheep. The landscape and the attractive route are the main focus of this trip.
A journey of almost 1,800 km through England and Wales is on the agenda. The daily stages are moderate with max. 310 km and allow breaks and stops. In the Cotswolds you have two nights in a row, which allows you a day trip without luggage. The road conditions are generally good to very good. The tour can be booked in two different accommodation categories - with accommodation in hotels or bed & breakfast.
Day 1: Arrival
Individual arrival at Hoek van Holland, embarkation and departure (approx. 22.00 hrs) towards Great Britain. Overnight stay on board.
Day 2: Harwich - Gloucester (about 310 km)
Arrival in Harwich in the morning (about 6.30 am). Your journey through the most beautiful landscapes of England and Wales begins! Via the time-honoured university city of Oxford - on the way back on this trip you will have plenty of time to get to know the city - you will reach the West of England. Your destination for the day is Gloucester, starting point for a tour of one of the most typical areas of England the following day. Overnight stay in/near Gloucester.
Day 3: Cotswolds (approx. 180 km)
Today, they dedicate themselves to what is perhaps one of the most "English" areas of the British Isles: the Cotswolds region is famous for its villages set in the picturesque landscape and has experienced great wealth through the trade in wool. Even today the area is prosperous. The gently undulating mountain and valley landscape, the cottages and the small villages with limestone architecture form a beautiful scenery for a day trip on a motorcycle. Overnight stay in/near Gloucester.
Day 4: Gloucester - Brecon Beacons National Park - Pembrokeshire Coast (approx. 280 km)
Off to Wales. Via small villages you will ride to the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is dominated by heath, moors and the Pen y Fan, the highest peak at almost 900 metres. From here you ride to the south coast of Wales. They head for the southern Pembrokeshire Coast, which is also largely protected as a national park. Steep coasts with rugged rock formations, lonely bays, the shimmering Atlantic Ocean and countless sea birds await you here. Overnight stay in/near Pembroke.
Day 5: Pembrokeshire Coast - Aberaeron (about 160 km)
You follow the beautiful coast and should take time to stop here and there on the way. The view of the Atlantic Ocean is simply magnificent! Via Fishguard and Cardigan you will reach your today's destination with Aberaeron. In the evening the small town invites you to stroll through the streets and along the colourful houses of Belle View Terrace. Overnight stay in/near Aberaeron.
Day 6: Aberaeron - Snowdonia National Park - Betws-y-Coed (approx. 200 km)
You ride to the Snowdonia National Park. It is named after the highest mountain in Wales, the Snowdon, which is 1,085 metres high. This area, popular with hikers, has barren mountain ridges, waterfalls, a charming hilly landscape and unique wildlife. The partly winding route of today promises an interesting ride. Overnight stay in/at Betws-y-Coed.
Day 7: Betws-y-Coed - Llandrindod Wells (approx. 180 km)
Again following a winding route you ride south again. Your destination for the day, Llandrindod Wells, is a popular health resort. Overnight stay in/at Llandrindod Wells.
Day 8: Llandrindod Wells - Oxford (approx. 220 km)
Ride via Gloucester in the direction of Oxford. On the way you will again cross the picturesque Cotswolds region. If you wish, you can visit the ruins of Goodrich Castle near Ross-on-Wye. After your arrival in Oxford you will have the opportunity to explore the famous university city. Already in the 13th century the first colleges were founded here. The Carfax Tower, Christ Church Cathedral and Radcliffe Camera are well-known sights. Overnight stay in/near Oxford.
Day 9: Departure
From Oxford you ride to Harwich (approx. 230 km), where you take the ferry home in the evening (departure approx. 23.00 hrs). Overnight stay on board.
Day 10: Arrival in Hoek van Holland
In the morning (approx. 8.00 am) you will reach Hoek van Holland.
