Itinerary

Day 1

The tour starts in the wonderful city of Porto.

The fun begins.

On the first part of the day, you will ride on the N108, till you reach Amarante, a nice small town with lots of history.

After that, it’s time to head to the Alvão Natural Park, with its roughness and beautiful mountains, before entering the Douro Valley.

The entrance to the Valley will take you along some small back roads in the middle of the vineyards.

Take your time and enjoy the view.

But don’t forget to keep an eye on the road, because it's narrow and full of harpins.

The day ends in one of the most beautiful “Quintas” of the Valley, where you will enjoy a gourmet dinner in the middle of the vineyards, accompanied with a wine tasting of the wines of the “Quinta”.

Day 2

The day starts with a short ride till the small village of Pinhão (the “heart” of the Douro Valley).

Passing Pinhão, the route will take you on the famous EN222, before entering the Upper Douro, with its different clime and vegetation.

It’s time to ride through the vineyards, on a small hidden road, where you can almost touch the Douro river with your own hands.

After that the route will take you over the Pocinho Dam, and ride in the Douro International Natural Park. At this time, you will be just a few kms from Spain.

On the 2nd part of the day you will head south towards the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.

In this park you can find the highest mountain in Portugal, with the highest peak being Torre, with 2.000m high.

On the route, you will pass through Manteigas, famous for the wool Industry, the Zêzere glacial valley and a small gravel road, before arriving at the hotel, where you can enjoy the delights of the spa.

Relax and enjoy!

Day 3

On the 3rd day of the tour, you will head to Piodão, one of the most picturesque villages in Portugal. Stop and enjoy the quietness...

After that you will cross the mountain range of Açor and Lousã, famous amongst riders for the endless curves.

On the way, stop at Talasnal, one of the most interesting “Xisto Villages” of the region.

On the final part of the day you will ride through the Castelo de Bode Dam, one of the biggest of the country, before arriving in Tomar, the city of the Templar knights.

Day 4

On the 4th day, the route will take you West, towards the coastline.

The 1st part of the day is dedicated to culture and religion. You will ride through Fatima Sanctuary and the medieval village of Obidos.

After that its “Surf time”! The village of Peniche is famous for the world class waves, as well as her neighbor Ericeira, one of the only Surf reserves in the world.

The final part of the day will take you into the Serra de Sintra Natural Park, just before arriving at Cascais, a luxury small town near Lisbon. Then it's time to have a rest day and know Lisbon and its surroundings, like Sintra.

Charge your batteries and enjoy the urban life of Portugal's capital.

Day 5

This is the rest day of the tour.

It’s time to enjoy Lisbon and wonder around the capital of Portugal.

Eat a “Pastel de nata” and drink a “Bica” (the equivalent to an espresso coffee) and feel like a true “Alfacinha” (name of the inhabitants of Lisbon).

In alternative, you can also ride to Sintra, and visit this beautiful city, full of palaces and famous for its romantic atmosphere.

Day 6

On the 6th day of the tour you will leave Lisbon behind, and head south along the coastline.

On the 1st part of the day you will ride on the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, heading towards Setubal, where you will cross the Sado river on a ferry boat.

After that the route will take you along the Southern coastline of Portugal, passing through some of the most beautiful beaches of Portugal, like Comporta, Odeceixe and Arrifana.

These beaches are part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, one of the most less populated parts of the country.

At end of the day you will arrive to Sagres, famous for hosting the fortress and sailors’ school from where the most known Portuguese navigators came from.

Day 7

This day will take you “Coast to Coast”, from the most Western part of Portugal, all the way to the border with Spain.

After leaving Sagres, you will ride to the mountains of Monchique and Foia, from where, on a clear day, you can see both the Western and Southern coastlines of the Algarve.

It’s time to “go down” to sea level passing through the city of Loulé, before heading again to the interior, riding on the Caldeirão mountain, famous for the curves and excellent asphalt.

The final part of the day is dedicated to the villages of Alcoutim (famous in the past for the smugglers), Mértola and the abandoned São Domingos mines, where your hotel is located.

You are now in the Alentejo region.

Day 8

This is the shorter day of the tour!

The route will take you through the plains of the Alentejo, riding on the Guadiana Valley Natural Park and the Alqueva Dam (the biggest artificial lake in Europe) before arriving to the city of Évora (World heritage by Unesco).

Go for a walk in the city, and visit the roman Temple of Diana, the Cathedral, and enjoy a glass of wine in the Giraldo square.

Don´t forget to try the famous Alentejo gastronomy, famous for the olive oil, the black pig and the “migas”.

Day 9

On the 9th day of the tour the route will take you North, along the border with Spain, and heading towards the fortified village of Marvão, known as the “Eagles nest”, situated in the heart of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park.

After leaving Marvão, it’s time to ride West on a stretch of highway, towards the coastline, so you can arrive early to the fishermen’s village of Nazaré, famous for the 100 feet gigantic waves.

Before arriving in Nazaré, you will ride in another of the innumerous Natural Parks of the tour, the Natural Park of the Serra de Aires and Candeeiros.

Day 10

The tour is almost coming to an end…

On the last day of the tour, we've prepared a relaxing route along the Northern Portuguese coastline, but before, stop at Nazaré North beach, a “Meca” for the big wave surfers.

After leaving Nazaré you will find yourself riding along the coast passing through several small villages, before arriving at Figueira da Foz, a city well known for its big sandy beach and casino.

The final part of the day will be a ride towards Aveiro (Portugal´s “little Venice”), before arriving at your final destination, the wonderful city of Porto.
