|All prices of the excursions are indicative and depend on suppliers. They are to be paid in cash and in the given currency. USD can be drawn from most ATMs in Peru, so getting it there is not a problem.|

|Group size: The minimum number of participants is 5, the maximum 8 riders per tour guide. Accompanying persons can ride in the support vehicle.|
|Equipment: Please bring your motorcycle clothing, including helmet. Don't forget rain gear, then it certainly won't rain. What else you should bring: A flashlight, at best a headlamp. Useful aids are a multitool or a pocket knife, but sunglasses are a must. If you are often thirsty on the road, a water bottle is a good idea. The Yamaha XT 660R has no saddlebags. For carrying the most important utensils, a waterproof backpack or a luggage roll with the appropriate fastening straps is recommended. This way you can detach everything from the bike at any time and take it with you if necessary. Medication (diarrhea and cold remedies, vitamins, etc.) and drugstore items (sunblock and mosquito repellent) absolutely belong in the luggage.|
|Foreign exchange: The Peruvian currency is the SOL (PEN). As of November 2020, one euro was worth 4.27 soles. It is best to equip yourself with about 400 euros in cash and later get any additional soles needed with the help of your credit card (do not forget your PIN!) from the ATM. This is usually the cheapest method. Your tour guide will take you to appropriately functioning machines. In some cases, a group member or our guide can exchange your cash for you, in case the withdrawal of money doesn't work out. For drinks, lunch and possible tips you will need about 2000 Soles (without additional excursions) for the duration of your stay (without petrol about 1200 Soles). In addition, there are the expenses for souvenirs and souvenirs and all optional excursions.|
|Documents: Please bring copies of all your travel documents such as passport, national and international driver's license and airline ticket as well, just in case.|
|Entry: For EU citizens it is sufficient if the passport is still valid for at least six months upon entry. Participants of other nationalities please inquire at your or the Peruvian embassy of their country about special entry requirements.|
|Riding skills: A motorcycle should be safely controlled on paved roads, even in hairpin turns. Unpaved sections or sometimes potholed gravel roads should not be a problem. Approximately 10% of the routes are not asphalted.|
|Flights: Flights are not included in the tour price. You can book this yourself or have it booked at a travel agency you trust. We will also be happy to put you in touch with one as soon as the minimum number of participants has been reached. In any case, we recommend that you book the flight only after we have given the green light for the implementation, i.e. that the minimum number of participants has been reached, as otherwise you may incur high cancellation costs.|
|Driving licence: Participation in the tour requires a valid class A or A1 driving licence. Please bring your European driving licence as well as your international one.|
|Luggage: The luggage is carried in the escort vehicle. Please do not take too much with you, the motto is: less is more. Basically, the equipment is enough for a little more than a week, because we have pretty much halfway through the tour during the stay in Cusco the possibility to have our laundry washed. Also the motorcycle clothing, because a day in Cusco is planned without motorcycle in any case. Your luggage is not insured, please take out luggage insurance if necessary. Your day luggage is best kept in your personal backpack. Enduro tank bags fit well on the XT 660, but you must bring your own.|
|Health: Vaccinations are not mandatory. However, immunizations, especially against cholera and the various forms of hepatitis, can never hurt. Immunization against tetanus and polio is important for all trips. Apart from medicines for personal use, it is advisable to take medicines against stomach problems, diarrhoea, insect bites, fever and colds. Even though parts of Peru are in subtropical and tropical areas, malaria is not really a problem on our tour. It is important that you take care of all your vaccinations in time, so that you don't get all vaccines injected at the same time! Please also pay attention to the deadlines until the beginning of the effectiveness.|
|Deposit: Our team must receive the signed deposit contract before the start of the trip. You will receive this with your travel documents approx. 2 weeks before the start of the trip. With this contract you confirm that in case of damage to your motorcycle you will pay the amount up to the value of the motorcycle or up to the reduced deductible in Euro. More details under motorcycles.|
|Clothing: Everything you need for temperatures and motorcycling between 15° and 30° Celsius including swimming trunks. Also for the sometimes quite cold nights in the altitudes (very rarely times below 15 ° C) should be provided. The clothes should be hard-wearing for the trip. Definitely not needed are the tuxedo and the "little black dress".|
|Mobile phones: Common cell phones also work in Peru. However, calling home or being called from there is very expensive. In almost all hotels there is Free WiFi. And most of the time it works very well. There you can communicate via the Internet.|
|Hotels: The hotels we stay in are mostly typical for the country, often with a nice, stylish atmosphere (in Lima rather simple and functional) and vary from rustic accommodation to upper middle class. Some have a special comfort or a nice location, others attract with an extraordinary atmosphere. But we are always welcome as motorcyclists. All rooms have their own bathroom.|
|Climate: It is mostly sunny with daytime temperatures of 15 - 30° C, in Lima it can get even warmer. Night temperatures range from below 10° C - 25° C, depending on altitude and weather conditions. Although there is a 50% chance of rain in March and December, rain is almost non-existent throughout the year. In the tropics, warm thunderstorms and short showers are more the rule than long-lasting rain. In Lima, on the other hand, there is a desert climate and it always stays dry. There can be weather outliers in every direction. Due to the clear air, the UV radiation is very high at high altitudes. Do not forget to bring sufficient sun protection.|

|Damages are guaranteed to be assessed fairly on-site by our tour guide; our team vouches for this. In this context, it is essential to note that the deductible in Peru must also be borne by the renter/rider of the motorcycle for damage that is not their fault. For example, due to an accident with a third party, even though the accident is not the rider’s fault. This is because in Peru,, only SOAT liability insurance is mandatory. With this insurance, only personal injuries to third parties are minimally insured. Since most people in Peru are very poor, they often cannot pay for the damage they cause. |Road condition: Over 80% surprisingly well paved country roads and narrow, sometimes dizzying pass roads. In between also sometimes older asphalt surfaces in an advanced state of decay. The gravel and natural roads are usually in very good condition and can be ridden quite well. However, it is important to always ride with sufficient foresight and accordingly cautiously on these. Some off-road experience or even a little more can't hurt, of course. In any case, gravel roads should not be a problem. But even on the well-built country roads, you should always be prepared for occasional potholes, bumps or sand in the curves.|
|Daily routine: Normally, a travel day begins at 8 am with breakfast. At about 9 o'clock, after a short briefing by the tour guide, it goes then on the differently long daily stages. Lunch and coffee breaks will of course not be missing.|
|Insurances: The sensible insurances to be taken out have already been mentioned under the respective headwords. However, it is very important in this context that you should in any case have a good international health insurance with repatriation for this event. Peru is a land of contrasts. From the huge dunes of the desert-like coast, it is only a few kilometers to the lush green mountain landscapes of the high Andes. Right from sea level, the roads climb from the ocean beaches high up into mountain passes above 4,000 meters, topped only by the sheer cliffs of dark granite. At their feet lie lush green terraces carved into the rock by the Incas. On the journey through the south, many highlights of Peru's culture and landscape can be experienced in a wonderfully winding way.
Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, is the home of the floating islands of the Uro people. Cusco, the Incas’ cultural capital and former metropolis, is our starting point for the journey. Of course, there is the famous train to the legendary ruined city of Machu Picchu. The absolute highlight of a magical trip into the mystical realm of the Incas.
Day 1: Arrival at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport and hotel transfer to the Miraflores district.
Day 2: Lima, the city of kings and the capital of Peru. Sightseeing of the old town with the Plaza de Armas and the Presidential Palace.
Day 3: Our first stage on the motorcycle takes us on the Panamericana south via Ica always along the coast. Right after leaving Lima behind us, we can enjoy the view of the Pacific coast almost the whole way and marvel at the endless sand dunes. From time to time this desert is interrupted by green oases until we reach one of them after 300 km as our destination for the day. The oasis Huacachina is hidden in the middle of hundreds of meters of high sand dunes.
Day 4: If you like, you can take a dune buggy tour through the dunes this morning. You can glide down from the highest dunes on a sandboard. A special kind of fun. Meanwhile, everyone else can relax at the hotel or stroll through the small town. Still in the morning, we continue on the notorious Panamericana towards the south, left and right of the road are meanwhile huge wine-growing areas. We reach the small town of Nasca after about 150 km.
Day 5: The famous Nasca lines can be flown over in a small plane the next morning (optional). Only from the height, the lines of Nasca with their numerous motives are to be recognized. The mosaic of numerous gigantic, stylized earth drawings includes, among others, a monkey, a fish, a spider, the hummingbird, and many more. Even a so-called astronaut can be recognized. Scholars argue about the meaning of the drawings until today.
Day 6: Continuing south, after 165 km we reach the beautiful bay Puerto Inka. This bay is also home to penguins, pelicans, and sea lions. Also, the ruin of an old fishing port of the Incas lies in the bay. From here the fastest runners carried the fresh fish to Cusco. A decent distance, which of course was done in a sort of relay race. The hotel is very simple, but the location is unbeatable!
Day 7: 230 km to Camaná! At the barren coast, people live from fishing or mining of raw materials like silver, copper, and also gold. Where rivers from the Andes make irrigation possible, agriculture is practiced. So also here in Camaná, which is famous for its white beaches.
Day 8: We leave the coast and ride to the Canyon de Colca. On this adventurous route, the first 90 km are still asphalted. After that, we are looking forward to a 210 km long gravel road, here nature is pure, without the annoying long distance traffic. The canyon is known as one of the deepest canyons in the world. Here you can see the condors gliding, these majestic, huge birds of prey with wingspans up to three meters. They don't need a single flap of their wings as they soar ever higher in the updrafts. Many pairs nest in the rock walls of the canyon, a sighting is virtually guaranteed. We spend the night in Chivay at an altitude of 3635 meters.
Day 9: Departure to Puno at Lake Titicaca. On the total distance of 300 km, 60 km of gravel await us. Already after Chivay, the road starts to climb steeply until we reach the pass Pata Pampa at an altitude of 4.890 meters after some exciting kilometers. We ride continuously at an altitude of about 4,000 meters through the wide Pampa with glittering mountain lakes. We see hundreds of vicunas (a wild species of the llama), fuzzy alpacas (that's where the good wool comes from), and peaceful llamas. The mountain peaks above the wide plains sprinkled with countless wild and tame llamas characterize the motifs of today's day.
Day 10: Boat trip to visit the indigenous people, the Uros, on their floating reed islands and have a rustic, rural lunch with the inhabitants of Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca (optional). At 3,812 meters above sea level, Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world.
Day 11: Continue to Cusco, the navel of the world, at least at that time for the Incas this city was the center of their world. Cusco is the extremely historical, legendary capital of the Incas and lies at about 3,326 meters above sea level. This beautiful city with its many well-preserved colonial buildings is one of the most visited tourist destinations in all of South America. We take the time to get to know it a little better. The stage for the day: 380 km
Day 12: To visit the famous ruined city of Machu Picchu, we first travel by bus to Ollantaytambo and then by train to Agua Calientes, a total of about 180 km. We stay overnight in a hotel in the small mountain village of Agua Calientes. The Incas built the sacred city of Machu Picchu in the 15th century at an altitude of 2360 meters on a ridge between the peaks of Huayna Picchu and the eponymous mountain Machu Picchu.
Day 13: Because we have already arrived yesterday to Agua Calientes, we belong today quite early in the morning also to the first visitors who set out with the bus to Machu Picchu. And this is worthwhile in any case. First, this mystical city peels in the morning usually gradually from equally mystical fog, secondly, the light is much better to photograph, and thirdly and most importantly, we have this magical place almost to ourselves. Towards the end of the early tour, you can see impressively how crowded the ruins are right behind the entrance, not two hours after our arrival there in the very early morning.
Day 14: Excursion by motorbikes to the sacred valley of the Incas and to visit the historic salt flats. A good, traditional lunch in the garden of an equally traditional house in Pisac rounds off this day wonderfully.
Day 15: Cusco at leisure, the city at the navel of the world has a lot to offer. Everyone can explore it according to his taste, many museums and churches are waiting for the visitor. The restaurants around the Plaza are very popular to linger a bit. Those who want to visit more historical places of worship of the Incas can visit the absolutely impressive, gigantic stone walls of Saqsaywaman above Cusco.
Day 16: Departure towards Abancay to Andahuaylas, a typical Andean town with 60,000 inhabitants located at an altitude of 2,900 meters in the valley of the Rio Chumba. Many curves, up and down again and again, we ride over several smaller and higher passes through different climates. After 340 km full of curves we reach our daily destination Andahuaylas.
Day 17: On the mountain road 3 S there is not a single straight piece. For the next 5 hours we ride in one tour through right turns, left turns, right turns, left turns. 240 km through the Andes off the beaten track. Here, in the middle of the Andes lies the real Peru, the land of the Inca mountain people. Even today Quechua is spoken here, Spanish is still a foreign language for many direct descendants of the Inca. In the metropolitan area of Ayacucho live about 220,000 people, in Ayacucho itself there are about 100,000 inhabitants. The city is located at an altitude of 2,760 meters and is also called Huamanga in Quechua.
Day 18: From Ayacucho we ride back towards the coast, the pass Abra Apacheta with 4.746 (!) meters has to be crossed, afterwards a curved serpentine road leads us back to the Panamericana and to the coast. We reach our destination Paracas after 360 km.
Day 19: Boat trip (optional) to the Ballestas Islands and visit to the National Park of Paracas (small entrance fee optional). The Islas Ballestas are also called Little Galapagos. Sea lions, penguins and many sea birds are the only inhabitants of this miniature archipelago. With speedboats we leave already at 8.00 o'clock to the islands. In the afternoon we visit the National Park of Paracas on our motorcycles.
Day 20: Departure to Lima, 230 km along the coast. In the evening review of the tour in a nice restaurant at the farewell dinner.
