Important information - LUGGAGE:
MARKING: In all cases, every piece of luggage must have the license plate of the motorcycle clearly marked on it. This allows us, customs (and you) to identify the luggage belonging to which motorbike.
LOCKS: The luggage cannot be locked: customs have the right to break the locks, if they want to inspect it and they find it locked.
WRAPPING: Is intended to protect the luggage during transport. Each luggage piece is wrapped separately to protect it from damages, scuffing or scratches during the transport.

Important information - MOTORBIKE:
MAXIMUM WIDTH OF THE MOTORBIKE: Because of the dimensions of the cages where the motorbikes are strapped, the luggage must be usually be dismantled from the motorbike – unless the width of the bike + luggage does not exceed 980 mm.
MAXIMUM PACKING DIMENSIONS OF A PARCEL (MOTORCYCLE WITH ACCESSORIES AND LUGGAGE): Maximum Height: 1200mm. This is why in most cases, the mirrors and windshield must be dismantled. Maximum width: 980mm (with or without luggage mounted) Maximum length: 2300mm. This is sometimes important in case there is a top case, license plate assembly, or a special rear rack, which may extend the length of the motorbike.
WINDSHIELD AND MIRRORS: The windshield and mirrors will be dismantled, wrapped separately and stored to protect them from any damage. We also re-attach them to the motorcycle.
TIRE PRESSURE: We always check the tire pressure of all motorbikes, and inflate tires (when required). If we find deflated tires, we will always inform you. However, as a rider, YOU retain ultimate responsibility to thoroughly check your motorcycle (including tire pressure) before riding off.
LEAKS: We inspect the bikes before shipment, and at arrival. We document the condition of each motorbike with photographs or videos. If we find leaks, we will in all cases inform you.
BATTERY: The battery must always be disconnected when transporting motor vehicles by sea. We will take care of this and also reconnect it at arrival. We also try to start the bike.
FUEL: Fuel can never be shipped along with the motorcycle in separate containers. Empty fuel containers can be shipped however. If empty fuel containers have to be dismantled from the motorbike to meet the shipping dimensions (1200 mm x 980 mm x 2300 mm), they count as one piece of luggage (50 EUR / piece). The fuel quantity in your tank must not exceed 3 liters, for safety reasons.
CONTACT & PANNIERS KEYS: The key must be attached to the handlebar of your motorbike (with a zip-tie for example). In case customs want to inspect the inside of your fuel tank: Unless they can open the fuel tank with the key, they have the right to break the lock. Secondly, on many motorbikes, without the key, we cannot remove the luggage – which is required to pack the motorcycles, in most cases.

Important information - SHIPPING:
VEHICLE RECEPTION: You can deliver your motorcycle yourself to our warehouse at the departure destination. If it were more convenient, for an additional fee, we can collect it from anywhere – even at your doorstep. Your motorcycle will be transported to the warehouse in an enclosed van – we never use open trailers. The listed shipping prices apply to transports from/to our warehouse to the indicated destination (one way or two ways).
DOCUMENTATION: Before starting the packing process, we inspect your vehicle in detail and make a detailed photographic documentation of its condition. All process steps are recorded in a checklist that allows us to keep track of each operation. That checklist travels with the motorbike, and allows us to ensure that we have water-tight processes to deliver your bike exactly as you gave it to us.
SPECIAL CAGES: Your motorcycle is transported in a metal cage specially designed by us. During transport, we DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE WHEELS, so that sensitive parts of the motorcycle, such as ABS sensors or brake discs, don’t get damaged. The motorbike is then securely strapped inside the shipping cage. We strap it from the rear wheel to avoid compressing the rear suspension. To the front it is anchored in three different points. This way, we’re certain nothing will move and get damaged during transport. Not all bikes fit in the cages. Cage length is 2.35m and width is 1m. The containers have a door opening width of 2.35m. Motorbikes longer that this cannot be shipped at standard rates, nor do they fit in the cages. These would typically be Harley Davidson or large road bikes such as Pan European or similar. Please enquire for an offer for large bikes.
PANNIERS AND LUGGAGE You can transport some luggage with the motorbike. From experience the free luggage allowance is sufficient for most travelers. If your motorcycle with the panniers mounted is wider than the cage (which most often happens with large motorcycles), we disassemble and secure the luggage, typically on a separate pallet. To facilitate identification, we ask that you clearly mark the registration number of the bike on each luggage piece. The luggage must be left unlocked, should there be any customs inspection.
COLLECTION OF THE VEHICLE AT DESTINATION: At the destination, we prepare the bikes for collection in the customs warehouse. We unpack the motorcycles from the shipping cages, reconnect the batteries, install mirrors, windshields (if removed) and luggage. We also check the tire pressure and try to start the bike, to make sure we can flag any potential problem. When you collect your vehicle, we ask that you inspect it, ensure that everything works as the manufacturer intended it to function – and sign a delivery form. You’re then good to go!
