Or you would like to explore the region independently before or after the joint tour? No problem with our flexible arrival and departure options! On the journey through Europe you can easily join the group later, or say goodbye earlier on the return journey. Ferry connections from Italy or France offer more comfort and can shorten the journey by land. Also the direct arrival and departure to Morocco is possible - whether completely on your own, whether with our ferry ticket service, or complete with flight and motorcycle transport: Contact us personally, and we create your individual offer! |
Luggage shipping: You can send your luggage, which is to be transported in the escort vehicle, to our company headquarters by mail before the trip. After the trip we will send your luggage back home against payment of the postage costs. |
Support in case of vehicle failure: No one can rule out breakdowns. In case of self-planned route changes or excursions "on your own", the participant himself is responsible. |
Climate in Morocco: At the offered travel dates, the average temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius. Temperatures vary in the high altitudes of the High Atlas and Rif Mountains and on the edge of the Sahara. Please adapt your motorcycle clothing to the climatic requirements. |
Traffic in Morocco: The traffic situation in the cities requires an anticipatory riding style and is in part not comparable with European driving behavior. |
Travel documents: For entry to Morocco you need your passport (identity card is not sufficient!). The passport must be valid for three months beyond the end of the booked trip. |
Entry with bike: When crossing the border into Morocco, the motorcycle data is entered in the passport. In addition, the green insurance card must be carried as proof for the motor vehicle liability insurance. All details can be found under the next point "Motor vehicle liability insurance". |
Motor vehicle liability: Not every motor vehicle liability insurance offers insurance coverage for trips to Morocco. Therefore, check your motor vehicle liability in good time before the trip and have your insurance company send you the green insurance card for your bike. On the green card, the field for Morocco ("MA") must not be crossed out! |
Alternatively, it is possible to take out a temporary insurance (liability) for the travel period when entering Morocco (port of Tangier). The cost for this is about 100 €. |
Protection insurance: A vehicle protection insurance, which also covers you outside Europe, is absolutely necessary for this trip. In case of doubt, ask your provider whether your protection insurance also covers Morocco. The cheapest cover is usually offered by your car insurer (often already included in the contract). The various automobile clubs also offer protection cover services, where they are usually included in the annual premium. |
Health insurance: We recommend for all international motorcycle tours the conclusion of a separate foreign health insurance with medical repatriation. Our Allianz partner will be happy to provide you with a suitable offer. |
Ferry connections: The new schedules for the ferry connections are usually always published at the beginning of the year. Until then, schedule changes and thus a slight change in the travel period can not be completely excluded! Please plan your vacation so that you can react flexibly in case of schedule changes. |

Description
Experience motorcycle trip full of adventure and exoticism
In the middle of it and not only in it: This guided adventure motorcycle tour through Morocco lets you feel the magic of the Orient, on the back of your motorcycle! Morocco, this diverse and exotic country, where history and modernity meet in a very special way, is one of the last remaining kingdoms of the African continent. Separated from Europe by the Strait of Gibraltar, barely 14 km wide, Morocco offers us the space for one of our most beautiful guided motorcycle tours.
Our motorcycle tour starts in the area of Lörrach, southwest Germany, near the Swiss border. From here we travel through France and Spain to the sun-drenched Catalonian capital. Here in Barcelona our ferry leaves in the morning with destination Africa. After 26 hours of sea travel, Tangier med awaits us, the largest Moroccan port, nestled between Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
Now our motorcycle adventure on the third largest continent of our earth can begin. Tangier, the multicultural coastal city on the Atlantic Ocean - a melting pot of cultures - is our gateway to the south. Here we feel the oriental way of life for the first time.
Where history and modernity meet in such a unique way, we experience the most beautiful motorcycle routes, framed by imposing natural wonders. Here, like in no other country, the feeling of freedom and adventure merge with the magic of the landscape and oriental flair.
Mountains - Sand Dunes - Waterfalls - Marrakech
Soon the most beautiful areas of the Kingdom of Morocco are at our feet. The historical Rif mountains, the breathtaking Middle and High Atlas and last but not least the sand sea of the Sahara at Erg Chebbi.
The imposing waterfalls of Ouzoud, whose floods plunge more than 110 meters into the depths, offer us a photo motif of the extra class. But the royal cities of Meknes, Fes and, as the highlight, Marrakesh with the legendary Djemaa el Fna also have their special charm. The latter transports us back to past centuries with its colorful hustle and bustle in its narrow, centuries-old alleys and the beguiling scents of spices and herbs.
The legendary road of the Kasbahs
It is known far beyond the borders of the country - the legendary road of the Kasbahs. This stretch of road looks like something out of a storybook and offers the Todra and Dades gorges with their steep walls up to 300 meters high as highlights. And Aït Benhaddou, located on the old caravan road at the foot of the High Atlas, has already served as a backdrop for many Hollywood productions and is another highlight of our motorcycle trip. The entire old town center has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1987.
Sunrise in the desert camp
Palm groves and oases announce the proximity of the Sahara. At Erg Chebbi, also called the largest sandpit in the world, we can feel the desert up close at the southernmost point of our motorcycle tour. Here, in our desert camp, we can admire the incredible starry sky before falling asleep, and in the morning we can admire the sunrise as it only exists in the desert.
A touch of Grand Canyon
Heading north again, the imposing mountain landscapes around the Midelt region give a hint of the Grand Canyon. Following ancient caravan routes, we reach the Mediterranean Sea again on the most beautiful panoramic roads, where we slowly approach the European continent again.
Arriving home, the diverse impressions of this extraordinary motorcycle trip will accompany you for a long time ...

Day 2: Stage to Valence in the South of France
It's quite a ride to Barcelona, where our Morocco ferry departs. We want to cover half the distance - just over 500 km - today, and for this we will also use France's highways to a good extent.
After starting at the meeting point hotel, we ride directly into France near Mulhouse. Soon the city of Besancon passes by on the left. A little later we turn south. When we cross the Rhone at Lyon, we've almost made it: now it's only 100 km down the Rhone valley until we reach our stage destination.
Overnight stay: Valence (South of France)
Daily distance: approx. 530 km
-
Day 3: Valence - Barcelona
After breakfast we head south via Montpellier and Narbonne to Spain, where today's stage ends on the Costa Brava. Again, we mainly use the highway. A good 100 km south of the Pyrenees we head for the Catalonian capital and port city of Barcelona, where we will be staying today.
Overnight stay: Barcelona (Spain)
Daily distance: approx. 540 km
-
Day 4: Day at sea: ferry crossing Barcelona - Tangier med
After breakfast ride to the ferry terminal. There we have enough time for a stress-free check-in. Once the formalities are completed and the machines are securely lashed down, we can relax on the upper deck and watch as our ferry departs - with destination Tangier med in Morocco!
Overnight stay: on the night ferry from Barcelona to Morocco
Daily distance: approx. 10 km (day at sea)
-
Day 5: Arrival in Morocco: From the port to the city of Tangier
Until after lunch we can enjoy the crossing and the amenities on board. Then in the afternoon we dock in Tangier med.
Still in the port, at the customs border, we meet our interpreter. He always has an open ear for all questions, and will accompany us on our entire journey through the Kingdom of Morocco.
After going through customs formalities, we ride to Tangier City to check into our first hotel in Morocco. Even though it is only a short distance to ride, we feel it clearly: adventure and exoticism are in the air, and provide a very special and expectant atmosphere after the long journey.
Overnight stay: Tangier City (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 60 km
-
Day 6: Through the Rif Mountains to the royal city of Meknes
Our first real stage in Morocco leads through fascinating landscapes of the western Rif Mountains, which are green and fertile especially in the first half of the year.
Via Chefchaouen we reach our destination for the day, the royal city of Meknes. After dinner we will have the opportunity to admire the impressive old town during an evening walk.
Overnight stay: Meknes (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 300 km
-
Day 7: Through central Morocco to the foot of the High Atlas Mountains
After an oriental breakfast, the journey continues south. Soon the fertile plain of Meknes is left behind as we head up into the western foothills of the Middle Atlas.
In the afternoon we reach the town of Beni Mellal. It is our "gateway to the High Atlas", and a magnificent pass road with great curves and unique viewpoints forms the crowning conclusion of today's stage. And at the end of this brilliant motorcycle route, we cross the dam wall of the Bin el Ouidane reservoir, and then reach our exquisite quarters near Ouzoud.
Overnight stay: Ouzoud (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 320 km
-
Day 8: Ouzoud waterfalls and on to Marrakech
Right at the beginning of this day, we pay our visit to the nearby waterfalls of Ouzoud - they are the highest and wateriest waterfalls in Morocco! Time for a walk, because the impressive natural spectacle is best explored on foot. In good weather, the sun makes the fine water mist shine in all colors of the rainbow.
Later in the morning we return to our machines and our journey continues. The compass now points west as we cruise along the northern flank of the High Atlas Mountains - our destination for today is Marrakech, the "Pearl of the South," royal city and landmark of Morocco.
Overnight stay: Marrakech (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 250 km
-
Day 9: Marrakech (day off)
Today we experience Marrakech! The private bus will take us to the heart of the legendary city. On board is a local city guide who shows and explains selected sights to us. We will also visit the souks with their small, winding alleys, where traditional trades display their skills and merchants haggle over their wares. We will experience this and much more up close during our German-speaking guided tour.
At the end of the day we dine in one of the best restaurants in the city and then let ourselves be enchanted once again by the hustle and bustle of the medina.
Overnight stay: Marrakech (Morocco)
Daily distance: at leisure
-
Day 10: Over the High Atlas to Boumalne Dades
Anyone who keeps a list of the most impressive mountain passes for bikers has probably had it on their list for a long time: the 2,260 m high Col du Tichka. The pass is still the most important connection between the northwestern parts of the country and the Sahara foothills south of the High Atlas.
After crossing the mountains, we take a short ride to the road of the Kasbahs and the fortified town of Ait-Benhaddou, considered one of the most beautiful reservoir castles in Morocco and a UNSECO World Heritage Site. Therefore, we take time here for a photo stop to shoot one or the other souvenir photo.
As we then follow the road of the Kasbahs further east, we feel that the Sahara is now not far away. Lush green trees have become rare in the landscape. In the late afternoon we reach our quarters near the Dade Gorge.
Overnight stay: Boumalne Dades (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 330 km
-
Day 11: To the Todra Gorge and further to the desert near Merzouga
Today we first enjoy the beautiful valley of the Dades Gorge with its spectacular serpentine road. And because it was so beautiful, the next highlight on our program is the Todra Gorge. There we marvel at the rugged 300 m high rock walls, which are also very popular with climbers. In front of this grandiose scenery we take time for a coffee or tea before we return to the plateau and set course for Merzouga.
There, in the afternoon, we finally approach the highlight of our great Morocco tour: the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. Here we saddle up on camels and enjoy a one-hour ride to our luxury desert camp. Under a starry sky we have dinner and let ourselves be enchanted by the majesty of the desert.
Overnight: Luxury desert camp near Merzouga (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 260 km
-
Day 12: Merzouga - Fes
It is worth getting up early today, because the sunrise in the desert is one of the most beautiful natural spectacles Africa has to offer. At this moment we can experience the fascination of Morocco with all senses!
Our desert camp also marks the southernmost point of our journey. After breakfast, four-wheel drive jeeps take us back to our motorcycles, we get our helmets and jackets from the support vehicle and turn north again.
Our stage today leads us through the most beautiful areas of Morocco, desert landscape, stone desert, palm groves and dried up rivers alternate and animate us to photo stops. Over the Col du Zad and along old caravan routes we reach the historic royal city of Fes in the evening.
Overnight stay: Fes (Morocco)
Daily distance: approx. 450 km
-
Day 13: Royal city of Fes (day off)
After breakfast, we take a private bus to a hill outside the city. From here we can overlook all of Fes and our local guide shares with us his knowledge about the different parts of the city, their history and the most prominent monumental buildings.
Once we have torn ourselves away from the overwhelming panorama, we dive right into the action and experience the most beautiful, exotic and historic places of the city up close.
Overnight stay: Fes (Morocco)
Daily distance: at leisure
-
Day 14: Fes - Tangier med
Via Sidi Kacem, Tetouan and further along the Mediterranean coast, past the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, our motorcycle trip on the black continent takes us back to the port of Tangier med. Today we have to say goodbye to a continent that is so close, yet so far away from Europe. In the late evening we leave with the ferry. Course Europe - Barcelona.
Overnight stay: on the ferry from Morocco to Barcelona (Spain).
Daily distance: approx. 330 km
-
Day 15: Day at sea - ferry crossing from Morocco to Barcelona.
Today we relax on deck and have time to review the adventures of the past days...
Overnight: on the ferry from Morocco to Barcelona (Spain)
Daily distance: no riding / day at sea
-
Day 16: Along the coast of Catalonia to the South of France
Arrival of the ferry in Barcelona at noon. Along the Costa Brava, our journey continues towards France. The route follows small secondary roads, including the legendary coastal road between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíols. We also cross the border to France on the coastal road, which offers countless switchbacks and wonderful views in this section.
Overnight stay: near Perpignan (France)
Daily distance: approx. 275 km
-
Day 17: Southern France and the Ardèche Valley
Up to Montpellier we cruise on the highway, but from Nîmes our tour guides have prepared another riding treat: Depending on the weather and the shape of the day, there is the possibility to "experience" the winding gorges of the Ardèche valley.
The destination of today's stage is then Valence again, which we already know from the outward journey.
Overnight stay: Valence (South of France)
Daily distance: approx. 400 km
-
Day 18: Back to Germany
The last common stage of this trip leads us back to our meeting point hotel in the extreme southwest of Germany. Here we spend the last evening together and look back on the great Morocco tour that we were able to experience together.
Overnight stay: Treffpunkthotel Germany South-West, near Lörrach (Overnight stay and meals in the Treffpunkthotel are not included in the tour price).
Daily distance: approx. 530 km
-
Day 19: Farewell and individual journey home
Once again we have breakfast together, then it's time to say goodbye and start our individual journey home.
-
Additional notes:
Experience with longer tours is an advantage, as this trip with a duration of 19 days requires more riding endurance.
