| Things to remember: |
| The weather in Iceland can differ from day to day and rain is not unusual. Make sure that your clothes really are waterproof. Waterproof socks are a recommendation since we often ride through the water. |
| The temperature can vary from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius, so you need to be well prepared. |
| Travel insurance is required in case you get ill or injure yourself. Most home insurances also include travel insurance. Check it with your insurance company. A European insurance card is also recommended (if European), it is provided free of charge by the state. |

This 7-day fully loaded motorcycle adventure is designed to beautifully orchestrate the magnificence of The Westfjords and leave you with incredible memories to love and cherish. We start from Selfoss and end there as well, this offers us to travel to the best sights perfectly mapped out by our team of experienced riders to give you the best ride. During our epic journey, we will be hosted by small hotels along our path as we explore the Westfjords. On our perfectly designed riding path lay many indescribable jewels of nature, geothermal pools we'll bathe in, and loads of stunning waterfalls that may cloak us in the mist as we ride along the steep and tall mountains of the majestic Westfjords.
This tour is fully packed and fully equipped as we ride on the stellar Husqvarna and KTM endurance motorcycles designed explicitly for this advanced exploration. Motorcycle insurance is included as well as fuel and transfer to and from Reykjavik city. This is a combination of 7 days of riding with 6 nights of accommodation. Itinerary:
Day 1: Selfoss-Hrútafjörður | Historical Heritage
Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey through Iceland’s spectacular landscape! On the first day of our seven-day motorcycle tour, we’ll depart from our hometown Selfoss and ride through some of Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders. Our first stop is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of the world’s oldest continually running parliament. As we ride through the park, you’ll see the breathtaking Almannagjá Gorge and learn about the geological and cultural history of this unique region.
Next, we’ll head north towards the impressive glacier Langjökull, where we’ll ride along a mountain road with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You’ll feel the thrill of the open road as we navigate through winding turns and steep inclines, all while taking in the awe-inspiring scenery. Along the way, we’ll stop to snap photos and enjoy the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us.
We’ll then head to the picturesque town of Húsafell, nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains and glaciers. Here, we’ll take a break and explore the stunning surroundings, including the nearby waterfalls and hot springs. After a delicious lunch, we’ll continue our ride through Arnarvatnsheiði, a unique mountain region with breathtaking views and challenging terrain.
Finally, we’ll arrive in Hrútafjörður, a beautiful coastal town where we’ll spend our first night. Take some time to relax and unwind, perhaps enjoying a delicious seafood dinner and soaking in the scenic beauty of the area. Day 2: Hrútafjörður-Djúpavík | In Desolate Ruins
On day two of our motorcycle tour, we’ll travel to one of the most remote and breathtaking areas of Iceland – Strandir. Our ride will take us through rugged landscapes and along the stunning northern coast of the Westfjords, as we make our way toward Djúpavík.
Djúpavík was once one of the busiest villages in Iceland, but its prosperity was short-lived. The village is located at Reykjarförður on the east coast of the Westfjords and was never an ideal site for a town. In 1934, a herring factory was built, which brought some economic boom. However, in 1944, the herring stock started declining and vanished altogether in 1948. All the residents moved away, and the buildings were abandoned to rot. These abandoned factories are like works of art, with cracked concrete and rusty steel, and they are a perfect photographic opportunity.
Our ride will take us to the very end of a rideable road in Ófeigsfjörður. From there, it’s only possible to walk the rest of the area. We’ll take some time to explore the stunning surroundings and take in the natural beauty of this remote region.
On our way back, we’ll stop at a wonderful geothermal pool named Krossneslaug, a very special pool indeed located on the rocky seashore. This pool is a perfect place to relax and take a hot nourishing dip, with a beautiful view of the surrounding coastline. After our soak, we’ll return to Djúpavík, where we’ll spend the night.
Djúpavík and its surroundings offer a perfect blend of natural beauty and fascinating history, with the abandoned herring factories providing a unique glimpse into Iceland’s past. Day 3: Djúpavík-Flókalundur | On Shoulders Of Giants
Get ready for an adventurous day of off-road riding and breathtaking scenery on the third day of our motorcycle tour of Iceland. We’ll leave Djúpavík village early in the morning and head westward, as we make our way toward the stunning Flókalundur area.
We’ll travel over several mountains, including Steingrímsfjarðarheiði, Kollafjarðarheiði, and Þingmannaheiði, which are all known for their challenging terrain and spectacular views. These mountain roads are a true test of our riding talents, as we navigate through steep inclines and winding turns.
As we ride along, we’ll see some of the most remote and untouched areas of Iceland, with views of rugged landscapes, deep fjords, and sweeping valleys. This is a trail that almost no one travels on, providing a unique and unforgettable experience of Iceland’s natural beauty.
Finally, we’ll arrive at the stunning Flókalundur hotel, which overlooks the sea and offers a perfect spot to relax and gather strength for the next day’s adventures. Here, we’ll enjoy the natural pool at Hellulaug, a geothermal hot spring located right on the beach. Take a dip and soak in the stunning natural surroundings and enjoy the peaceful and serene beauty of this remote region.

Day 4: Flókalundur-Patreksfjörður | The Infinite Islands
On the fourth day of our motorcycle tour of Iceland, we’ll experience some of the most stunning natural beauty in the region. We’ll begin our ride in Flókalundur and travel through narrow fjords and mountainous terrain, taking in the breathtaking views of the Breiðafjörður bay and its hundreds of islands and islets.
Our first stop is Rauðisandur beach, one of the most unique and picturesque beaches in the world. The beach’s red sand and crystal-clear waters provide a perfect backdrop for some stunning photographs.
Next, we’ll visit Látrabjarg cliff, the westernmost point in Europe, and a birdwatcher’s paradise. This cliff is home to thousands of birds, including puffins, guillemots, and razorbills. We’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with these beautiful birds and take in the stunning views of the coastline from atop the cliff.
Finally, we’ll end our day in the small town of Patreksfjörður, where we’ll enjoy a delicious meal and spend the evening relaxing in outdoor hot tubs overlooking the fjord. This peaceful and serene location provides the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of riding and adventure.
Patreksfjörður is a charming town with a rich cultural history, and we’ll have the opportunity to learn about the area’s fascinating past and explore its quaint shops and cafes. Day 5: Patreksfjörður-Þingeyri | Blood and Water
Get ready for a stunning ride through some of the most spectacular landscapes and fjords in Iceland on day five of our motorcycle tour. We’ll leave Patreksfjörður and travel through a variety of different fjords, each with its own unique character and natural beauty.
As we ride, we’ll pass through mountain passes that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, and travel to the bottom of small fjords that are home to beautiful lakes, waterfalls, and rivers. The natural beauty of the region is truly awe-inspiring, and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the stunning scenery.
One of the highlights of the day is the Dynjandi waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. This beautiful waterfall will suddenly and almost unexpectedly grab your attention, with its powerful rush of water and stunning natural surroundings. It’s a truly unforgettable sight that you won’t want to miss.
As we continue our ride, we’ll make our way to the charming town of Þingeyri, located in the scenic fjord Dýrafjörður. This beautiful town is situated on the shores of a stunning fjord, and offers the perfect spot to unwind and relax after a long day of riding and adventure.
Dýrafjörður is home to one of Iceland’s most famous sagas about the settlers in Iceland, namely the epic saga of Gísli Súrsson. Dýrafjörður plays a large role in this bloody saga which is well worth learning about during your visit
Take some time to explore the town and soak in its rich history and culture, and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of the region. This is a true hidden gem of Iceland and one that you won’t soon forget.

Day 6: Þingeyri – Snæfellsnes Peninsula | The Home of Magic
Get ready for another day of adventure and stunning natural beauty on the sixth day of our motorcycle tour of Iceland. We’ll start our day with a short ride to a ferry that will take us over the bay into the famous Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
This area is known for inspiring books like “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” series like “Game of Thrones,” movies like “Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” and many more. As we ride through this stunning region, we’ll pass through a number of charming villages and scenic spots, stopping to take in the beauty of the area.
One of the highlights of the day is Stykkishólmur, a village with unique and stunning architecture. We’ll also visit Kirkjufell, a majestic mountain known as “Church Mountain” due to its unique shape and towering presence.
As we continue our ride, we’ll pass through Grundarfjörður, a beautiful village situated on the shores of a scenic fjord. We’ll also visit Ólafsvík, a charming town that’s home to several historic buildings and cultural landmarks.
Another highlight of the day is Svörtuloft lighthouse, a stunning structure perched atop a rocky cliff that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline. We’ll also visit Djúpalónssandur beach, a picturesque stretch of coastline that’s home to unique rock formations and stunning natural beauty.
We’ll make our way to Malarrif lighthouse, where we’ll have the opportunity to take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape and learn about the history of the area. We’ll also visit the charming villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy and experience the rich history and culture of the region.

Day 7: Snæfellsnes–Selfoss
On the last day of our motorcycle tour, we’ll take the old mountain road (Kellingaskarð, which is not official anymore) to the southern part of Snæfellsnes before riding through a long, flat area known as Mýrar to Borgarnes. This town is a popular stop for those traveling between south and north Iceland on F1 and offers plenty of opportunities to refuel and grab a bite to eat.
From Borgarnes, we’ll ride to Skorradalsvatn, a beautiful lake surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. We’ll then head over to Dragháls to Hvalfjörður, which was once a common place to spot whales in the early days and is known for its stunning natural beauty and winding roads.
In 1948, a whale-cutting factory was built in the area, which remained operational until it closed down in 1989. It was reopened in 2009 and is still active today, providing a fascinating glimpse into Iceland’s rich maritime history.
Our ride continues along Kjósaskarðsvegur to Þingvellir National Park, where we’ll have the opportunity to explore the stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural history of this important site. We’ll then make our way back to Selfoss, where our journey began.
