Description

Take a little time out with a touch of motorcycle adventure in southeastern Germany. Experience the fascination of Franconian Switzerland up close! Winding little roads lead us up to heights rich in views and through narrow valleys. Castles, palaces and ruins, built on striking rock formations, are silent witnesses of past centuries. In summary, a motorcycle tour that combines riding fun, culture and culinary delights in a unique way.

In the middle of the city triangle of Nuremberg, Bamberg and Bayreuth, in the so-called hiking center of Franconian Switzerland, lies our traditional tour hotel. From here we start our three eventful day tours into the surrounding countryside - curve fun included.

The day's highlights can be lined up like a string of pearls. For example, the high medieval castle Rabenstein above the Ailsbach valley, or the already legendary Kathi-Bräu, a well-known biker meeting place in this fascinating region. Countless curves further on, the rocky town of Pottenstein awaits us, bizarrely embedded in the gigantic rocky scenery. Anyone who hears Pottenstein inevitably associates the place with the Devil's Cave. It is the largest of about 1000 caves and fascinates with its uniqueness.

It also gets sporty on the Ellerberg mountain race track, which was built in 1920 and is still breathtaking today. The well-known serpentine road marks the ascent to Franconian Switzerland and gives us riding pleasure par excellence.

Franconian Switzerland, however, not only impresses with its great biker routes and natural beauty. That's why we also pay a visit to the independent city of Bamberg, whose history dates back to the 11th century. The city tour there, where we experience, among other things, the town hall decorated with facade paintings, the Romanesque cathedral with its four towers and other sights, gives this guided motorcycle tour a special touch.

You are looking for a small pleasure tour with the most beautiful means of transportation in the world? You want to experience a motorcycle tour with friends that does not demand too much of your cornering technique? Varied routes and an appealing program are still a must for you?

Then this guided motorcycle tour with us is ideal for you. Experience your personal bike adventure on the dream roads of Franconian Switzerland!

Day 2: Riding fun around "Muggendorfer Gebürg“

Since the 19th century, the name Muggendorfer Gebürg has been representative of the mountains, valleys and rocks of this region, which are very reminiscent of the "real" Switzerland. After the morning briefing, the time has finally come and the waltz of curves can begin. Framed by the historic tracks of the Franconian Steam Railway and the small river Wiesent, we experience the magic of curves in this tranquil valley. And Pottenstein already awaits us, a brilliant panoramic view of the city will inspire every photo enthusiast.

Then the curves call again, and we head for the Hohenmirsberger Platte, the highest elevation in the Franconian Jura. The viewing platform at a height of 22 meters offers us a magnificent panoramic view. A few inclines further on, we can admire the medieval Rabenstein Castle, located on the tradition-steeped Castle Road.

Having arrived at the edge of Franconian Switzerland, we change direction again to the south, now heading for the Devil's Cave. Through a massive entrance gate we pass from the upper to the lower world. Winding passages and caves with the dimensions of a church lie before us. A masterpiece of the earth's history. After this cave excursion, our roadbook leads us on varied, small roads to new magnificent vantage points, and via Heiligenstadt back towards the tour hotel. Of course, a stop at the legendary Kathis Bräu near Aufseß is almost a must and rounds off this successful day of riding.

Day 3: Spectacular mountain races and imposing fortresses

Today Kulmbach is on the daily program, completely in the north of our biker area. But before the time comes, we use the first kilometers for a warm-up. We climb in, the Würgau Pass can - as far as hill climbs are concerned - look back on a history of more than 100 years. Even today, races are still held with historic motorcycles. Even Hans Stuck, father of racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck, has been on this route.

We turn north and after a refreshing stop in the beer garden, the Kleinziegenfeld valley awaits us. The small river Weismain is our companion - embedded by mighty rock faces and slopes of rough grassland we curve through a unique natural jewel!

On the horizon, the old margraviate town of Kulmbach announces itself. Its landmark is the former Hohenzollern fortress Plassenburg. After a lunch break in the shadow of the castle, the route continues with racy curves and fantastic views in the direction of the Ellerberg racetrack on the eastern edge of the Bamberg basin. It had its heyday in the 1960s and 1970s, but its many switchbacks still promise us exciting cornering today! After all these riding highlights, we approach the starting point of today's tour again in the late afternoon.

Day 4: The Pearl of the "Franconian" Steigerwald

Today the Steigerwald awaits us, a magical combination of nature and biker's paradise. We are already setting off in an easterly direction. Our first stage destination is Bamberg. The old town there has the largest historic city center in Germany, and has been a World Heritage Site since 1993. During a guided tour of the city, we will immerse ourselves in the more than 1000-year history of this city on the Regnitz River.

With a coffee in the old town we can let the special atmosphere work on us again, then we continue our tour with these unique impressions.

The route that now lies ahead of us is extremely varied. In constant change, green valleys, mountain tops, markets and hamlets pass us by - almost like a film. Today's tour is characterized by winding mountain roads, highlands and gently curving side roads. To be on the road here by motorcycle is an unforgettable experience! At the southern foothills of the Steigerwald, the forest vegetation loosens up, the landscape now spreads out wide and open before us. We are now in the growing region of the famous Franconian wine...

After an eventful day, Franconian cuisine awaits us again and, how could it be otherwise, a glass of Franconian wine. We end the evening with stimulating conversations about the experiences of the last days.
