Riding gear: We can provide you a helmet and riding jacket with a surcharge of USD 10.- per day for each item. However we do suggest you bring your own riding gear for the tour if possible, since they will suit you better. |

Group size: We strive to offer the best possible individual guest service and a safe riding environment. Therefore, our groups are relatively small and typically kept to 8 to 10 guest motorcycles plus pillions. Most of our guests prefer groups of this size, where diversity of age, motorcycle experience and interests ignites instant friendships. |

Motorcycle Damage & Loss Coverage: We have motorcycle damage & loss coverage. Your motorcycle security deposit amount is your maximum liability limit. This coverage is included in the tour prices for riding in Thailand, while for multi-country tours, we have a waiver program available to obtain the coverage for the riding days outside of Thailand. |

Age limit: Minimum age limit for riders is 25 years old. We have no maximum age limit so long as you are in good condition to handle and ride the motorcycle. Pillion passengers should be not less than 15 years of age. |

Driving license and riding ability: The customer declares that he/she possess a valid Driving License from their home country and an International Driving License for motorbike over 500 cc (the vehicle) taking part in the tour for the period of travel and has the necessary riding ability, technically, mentally and physically to control such a vehicle booked, safely on the tour route. The customer also declares to have experience of riding motorcycles above 500 cc for at least a total of 10,000 km. |

With this 2-day self-guided motorcycle tour from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, you’ll explore the best back roads and sightseeing highlights of Northern Thailand! After leaving Chiang Mai, you will ride back roads towards Chiang Rai and then visit the Wat Rong Khun, which is one of the main landmarks in north Thailand. During an overnight in Chiang Rai, you’ll have time to explore this laid-back town, visit the night market or just relax at the hotel. After breakfast on the second day, continue North West towards Thaton and visit Wat Thaton, a magnificent temple with a crystal pagoda just a few kilometres away from the border to Myanmar. Afterwards, you can take a road less traveled back to Chiang Mai, completing the Self-Guided Motorcycle Tour to Chiang Rai!

Day 1 / Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai
Welcome to our Service Centre in the morning for a tour briefing and motorcycle hand over etc. We are at your disposal as of 8 am.
Start your Motorbike Tour to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai and rather quickly you leave the town behind and ride on the low traffic density road north towards Phrao. Enjoy a coffee at one of the many coffee stops on the way. From Phrao cross the mountain at Mae Waen, a pleasant scenic ride. One more mountain to cross for the day, over Doi Chang, famous for its coffee plantation and stunning scenery. The final stretch to Chiang Rai is on back roads, plenty of curves and pleasant hills. You will stop at the remarkable Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) which is today recognized as one of the main attractions all over Thailand. From the temple, there is only a short ride left to the hotel in central Chiang Rai. In the evening there is time to explore the night market or just relax at the hotel.

Day 2 / Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai
Start your tour from Chiang Rai in northern direction, after about 20 km leave the Highway and spend the rest of the day on exhilarating twisty rural roads. In Thaton, visit Wat Thaton a temple which is located close to the border to Myanmar, on top of a hill overlooking the village of Ban Thaton and the Mae Kok River. Follow the main road south and have a coffee break at the Hua Luk Royal Project. Lunch at the lovely Nest Resort with a beautiful view at the Limestone Mountains in the back. If time allows taking the back roads back to Chiang Mai via Mae Rim. Expect to be back at our Service Centre latest by 5 pm.
