Five days off-road, sea level to 2,160 m

It opens at the Enduropark with arrival and a welcome meeting, followed by a full day of off-road training. After that the way heads east: over tracks along the Sierra Nevada to Guadix, from there through the Tabernas desert to Cabo de Gata, and back again on a different line. You ride your own machine or a BMW R1250G with fuel, depending on the booking, and an off-road instructor is along for all five riding days. Because the route runs from sea level up to 2,160 metres, it is offered only twice a year.

Highlights

The Tabernas Desert

The only desert in Europe and the backdrop for countless westerns, most recently Game of Thrones. The trails through it are among the most unusual sections of the whole route, with scenery straight out of a film.

Cortijo del Fraile

A well-known and long-abandoned cortijo with countless stories attached to it. The detour there falls on the way from Guadix towards the coast and makes for one of the quietest moments of the week.

Beaches at Cabo de Gata

At the end of the eastern stage waits the Playa de los Genoveses, held to be the finest beach in Spain. Before it, trails lead to the cape's abandoned mines, an Andalusian jewel well off the known routes.

Sea Level to 2,160 Metres

The route covers everything between sea level and 2,160 metres. That is exactly why it runs only twice a year: in winter the chance of snow up in the high sections is simply too great to plan around.

A Training Day First

Before heading out there is a full day of off-road training in the Enduropark. An off-road instructor then rides with the group on all five riding days, whether you are on your own machine or on a rental.
