Description
Biking in the shadow of vertical limestone cliffs
Some of the most beautiful mountain panoramas in the Alps await you on our biking adventure: the Dolomites! Since 2009 this worldwide unique mountain landscape with its beauties part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. From our tour center in the heart of South Tyrol, we will experience a firework of curves of superlatives amid shining peaks - in short, a motorcycle paradise made just for us bikers.
Our motorcycle tour starts in Tyrol near Innsbruck. From here we start to one of the most beautiful spots of the Alps. Numerous passes and unique small and winding roads already await us on arrival before we move into our tour hotel. From here we will start our guided motorcycle tours in the coming days. We'll start with the Sella Ronda, the classic route that offers us the ultimate in riding fun on numerous passes and with almost 8,500 meters of altitude. For many motorcycle enthusiasts, it is almost a legend. But that's not all, countless other mountain passes and certainly one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world make this trip an unforgettable experience. The tour foresees a day free of riding, where you have the choice: If you are one of those who never get enough of the magic of curves, you can join - by arrangement - an additional day tour with the tour guide. Or you can use the day to relax and enjoy the amenities of our tour hotel. Either way, all participants will get their money's worth on this classic motorcycle tour.
We look forward to welcoming you on this guided motorcycle tour to the heart of the Alps!

Day 2: From Innsbruck to the heart of the Dolomites
Today gives us anticipation of the motorcycle El Dorado ahead. We start over the legendary Passo del Rombo - or better known as the "Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road". With its 2,509 meters, the Timmelsjoch is the second-highest asphalted mountain pass in the Eastern Alps. Already the ascent gives us a feeling of freedom and we feel the special charm of this high mountain. Arrived at the apex, the viewing platform offers us a wonderful view of the rear of Passeier Valley. The southern ramp, which is on the Italian side, is spectacular and offers fantastic views and, of course, a lot of riding fun. After this riding highlights, the scenically varied route takes us further over the Jaufen Pass and other smaller passes right into the heart of the motorcycle paradise of the Dolomites.
Overnight stay: Tour hotel in the Dolomites
Daily distance: approx. 230 km

Day 3: Riding fun around the Sella
Today's riding day offers us the basic conditions for pure riding pleasure amid magnificent nature. Between the Sella massif and the Cir peaks lies the Gardena Pass. The military road built before and during the First World War should not be missing from any Alpine Pass album! The ten-kilometer-long east ramp with its brick-built hairpin bends is particularly worth seeing.
Along the Catinaccio, the Sassolungo group, and the Sella massif, the Pordoi Pass awaits us with another 58 hairpin bends full of biker's delight. On this section of the route, the "decapitated" Col di Lana can be seen. This mountain, also called "Col di Sangue" (mountain of blood), was hotly contested during the First World War. Since the old Austrian mountain troops occupied the mountain, the Italian Alpini undermined the mountain and blew up the summit along with the Austrian defenders.
After having conquered the Pordoi Pass, the road winds up in twenty hairpin bends in a high valley covered with larches. Two kilometers before the top of the pass, the route becomes quite daring: to be able to overcome the last meters, even a helical tunnel is necessary - breathtaking!
Across the nature park of the Sesto Dolomites, we reach our accommodation again.
Overnight stay: Tour hotel in the Dolomites
Daily distance: approx. 200 km

Day 5: Pass pleasure around the Marmolada
Rested we start towards the south. Castelrotto, the largest town around the Saiser Alm, delights with its painted houses in the historic center. It is rightly counted among the "Borghi più belli d'Italia", i.e. among the most beautiful places in Italy, and has become famous not least because of the Kastelruther Spatzen...
At the Niger Pass, we can then admire a "garden" of a special kind: The Rose Garden. It is the name of a bizarre mountain group with pointed rock needles that unfold a very special atmosphere. Over the Karer Pass, we then approach the Marmolada, the highest elevation in the Dolomites. The name "Marmolada" is said to come from the resemblance of the rock to marble - a wonderful sight!
In the further course of the route, many more passes and pass roads await us and round off this wonderful day of riding.
Overnight stay: Tour hotel in the Dolomites
Daily distance: approx. 260 km

Day 6: Over the Staller Saddle to the Pustertal High Road
Day trip through the Antholz Valley to the Staller Saddle, which is located at 2,052 m directly on the national border between Austria / Italy. We can enjoy riding the hairpin bends of the narrow pass road because the saddle is always released by a traffic light regulation of only one lane.
We cruise on to the Pustertaler Höhenstraße. This runs between the picturesque slopes of Alta Pusteria and the Drau Valley in the Lienz Dolomites. With Cortina d'Ampezzo, we pass through a very sophisticated-looking town in the mountains, where well over 100 films have been shot since the 1920s, including "James Bond 007 - On a Deadly Mission" from 1981 with Roger Moore.
The Passo di Campolongo finally leads us back north. With its 1,875 meters, it is the lowest pass of the Sella massif - yet it offers us a high fun factor with its well-built switchbacks. From its southern ramp, we also have another good view of the Marmolada.
Overnight stay: Tour hotel in the Dolomites
Daily distance: approx. 310 km

Day 7: Via Bolzano back to the north side of the Alps
The biking days in the motorcycle paradise of the Dolomites are entertaining and over much too quickly. Via Bolzano, through the Penser Valley to the Penser Joch, and further over the old Brenner Road we ride towards Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. There we enjoy the breathtaking view of the city from the Bergisel ski jump before arriving at our hotel.
Overnight stay: Near Innsbruck (Tyrol, Austria)
Daily distance: approx. 240 km

Day 8: Farewell and individual journey home
Once again we have breakfast together, then it's time to say goodbye. On the individual journey home we will be accompanied by our memories of the past tour under the vertical rock faces of the Dolomites...
