Itinerary

Day 1

The tour starts in the beautiful city of Porto.

The day begins with a ride along the N108, a fun twisty road that follows the North side of the Douro River.

After some kilometers the route will take you North to the wonderful Serra do Marão mountain, and to the Alvão Natural Park, where you will be riding in the middle of nature and on the famous and demanding N304 route.

The day ends with the entrance in the Douro Valley, where the route will take you through some small, beautiful and hidden roads in the middle of the vineyards.

Take your time and enjoy the view.

But do not forget to keep an eye on the road, because it's narrow and full of harpins.

The day ends in one of the most beautiful “Quintas” of the Valley, where you will enjoy a gourmet dinner in the middle of the vineyards, accompanied with a wine tasting of the wines of the “Quinta”.

Day 2

This is the shortest day of the tour, but not the least interesting.

This day is fully dedicated to the Douro Valley.

You will ride through all the most beautiful roads and locations of the Valley, such as the famous N222 road, the Tua River, The Valeira Dam, etc.

The day ends in one of the “Quintas” of the Upper Douro, where you will enjoy the local gastronomy and the wines of this region.

Day 3

The 3rd day of the tour marks the entrance in Spain.

But before that it will be time to ride on the Douro International Natural Park. The Park is full of amazing roads, wonderful views and wildlife.

On the 2nd part of this day, you will leave the mountains behind and head towards the magnificent city of Salamanca, where you will spend the night.

With a history dating back to the Celtic era, Salamanca is known for its ornate sandstone architecture and for the Universidad de Salamanca. Founded in the 1100´s and a key intellectual center in the 15th-16th centuries, the university continues to add to the city’s vibrancy with its international student population.

Day 4

The 4th day of the tour will take you to the Las Batuecas- Sierra de Francia Natural Park and to the Sierra de Gredos mountain.

The route is designed to go through some of the most famous mountain passes of the region, that are part of the “Vuelta” (the annual multi-stage bicycle race).

You will feel totally immersed in nature.

On the final part of the day, you will head East towards the beautiful fortified city of Ávila, where a nice historical hotel waits for you.

Day 5

This day is fully dedicated to the Sierra de Gredos mountain.

This mountain is a gem full of twisting roads, waterfalls and explosive wilderness.

On the way do not forget to stop at Arenas de São Pedro and visit its magnificent castle.

The day will end in the Spanish city of Plasencia, a wonderful city full of Roman archeological remains.

Go for a walk in the city and go back in time.

Day 6

The 6th day of the tour is a mix between Portugal and Spain.

Leaving Plasencia, you will head West into the Serra da Malcata Natural Park, before entering Portugal.

This park is famous for hosting the only community of Iberian Lynx in the wild.

The end of the day will mark the entrance in one of Portugal's most beautiful parks: The Serra da Estrela Natural Park!

We have arranged a cozy mountain style hotel, so you can feel the delights of the mountain atmosphere.

Day 7

This is the final day of the tour, but there are still interesting things to come.

The day starts with a ride on a small gravel road that leaves the hotel and takes you to one of the wonders of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park: the glacial valley of the Zêzere river.

With 13kms it's one of the biggest glacial valleys in Europe, and home of the spring of the river.

After a winding ride on some of the beautiful roads of the Park, it’s time to head North, in the direction of the Arouca Geopark.

A true geological open-air museum, with an area of 328 km2, it is surrounded by the Serras da Freita, Montemuro and Arade Mountains, which make this region a true riders paradise.

The day ends with a ride along the Douro river, before arriving at the city of Porto, where this amazing Tour will come to an end.
