Blidinje, Bjelasnica & Prokosko Lake

Seven days off-road in the Dinaric Alps, led by an experienced guide. The meeting point is Blidinje Nature Park, specifically Motel Risovac, where the machines are checked and the group gets acquainted. From there the way runs over mountain plateaus, trails and villages to Mostar, Sarajevo and back again, with nights in motels along the route. Around 600 kilometres, 90 percent of them unpaved, plus half board and technical support on every riding day. Made for anyone who wants to be out well away from the road.

Highlights

Dinaric Alps Off-Road

On narrow trails and mountain tracks you cross the Dinaric Alps, well away from paved roads. Between Mostar and Sarajevo, mountain plateaus and highland meadows link up into a varied off-road route through the range.

Five Guided Riding Days

Five guided riding days with an experienced guide take you safely through demanding terrain. The programme is aimed at riders with basic skills who want to test their ability on genuine off-road tracks.

Lukomir and Bjelasnica

One stage heads to Bjelasnica, the Olympic mountain, and to the mountain village Lukomir, the highest-lying village in the region. Culture and landscape here sit far away from the usual paths across the Balkans.

Break at Prokosko Lake

A rest stop at Prokosko Lake is one of the calmer moments of the week, before the way continues to the ethno village of Remic. The scenery around the lake shapes this highland day in particular.

Flexible Vehicle Choice

You can set off on your own motorcycle or book a KTM 450 as a rental enduro with protective gear on site. That makes the week easy to plan and straightforward even without your own machine.

Stage 1

Day 1–7

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Everything takes place in the Dinaric Alps between Blidinje, Mostar and Sarajevo.

Day 1 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 1: Blidinje

Arrival day in Blidinje Nature Park: you meet the group and get to know the surroundings where the coming days will play out. In the evening there is a shared dinner at Motel Risovac, where the group also spends the night.

Day 2 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 2: Blidinje – Mostar

After the equipment check the way heads through Mostar up to the Rujista mountain plateau and on to Lake Boracko. Overnight at Motel Sunce, with a midday break and a shared dinner along the way – the first full day in the terrain.

Day 3 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 3: Mostar – Sarajevo

The stage climbs to Bjelasnica, the Olympic mountain, and up to the mountain village Lukomir, the highest-lying village in the region. After a shared lunch break along the way the group continues to its night at Motel Umoljani.

Day 4 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 4: Sarajevo – Brusnica

After breakfast, exciting trails lead over the mountain Pogorelica to the mountain Brusnica, where numerous off-road tracks keep the group busy until evening. Overnight at Motel Brusnica, right in the middle of the terrain.

Day 5 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 5: Brusnica – Menjik

From Brusnica the way continues to Prokosko Lake for a midday break in beautiful surroundings. Trails then lead on to the ethno village of Remic, the stage destination for the night on this day.

Day 6 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 6: Menjik – Blidinje

Through mountain landscapes and forests the way returns to the Risovac ski resort, where the week in the terrain draws to a close. The afternoon is free to use as you please, and the last night follows at the starting motel.

Day 7 · Bosnia and Herzegovina

Day 7: Blidinje – Departure

Departure day in Blidinje: time to pack, check out of the motel and fit in a few last activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina before the way home begins. A relaxed close to seven eventful off-road days.
