The Calais–Dover Ferry
The way out and back runs on the ferry between Calais and Dover, motorcycle transport included. The White Cliffs are in front of you on day one, with no long motorway stages across France to get there.
Parks of the Southwest
The route touches the New Forest, Dartmoor and Exmoor. Free-roaming ponies, livestock at the roadside and wide moorland shape these stages, with quiet, lightly trafficked roads in between them.
National Motor Museum
At Beaulieu the National Motor Museum holds its collection of historic cars and motorcycles. Anyone who prefers standing stones takes the alternative past Stonehenge on the same day heading west.
Cliffs out to Land's End
The far southwest of the island shows its rugged side: St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre, the Geevor Tin Mine and the artists' colony of St Ives all lie on the loop from Newquay to Land's End.
Tintagel and Miss Marple
Tintagel holds the castle ruin tied to the Arthurian legend; St Mawes and Winchester bring Miss Marple filming locations and the Round Table. History and coastal bends on the very same route.
