Crikvenica, Cres, Pula & Plitvice Lakes

It begins with the joint ride to Bad Reichenhall, from where the group takes small roads through Austria to Lake Ossiach. Crossing the Radstädter Tauern Pass and the Passo di Predil, the way continues through Slovenia and finally to the base hotel in Crikvenica. From there the day rides begin: into the mountainous hinterland around the Kapela Mountains, by ferry to the island of Cres, and on to Istria with its historic amphitheatre in Pula. Plitvice Lakes are on the programme as well, before the way back through Slovenia and Austria begins.

Highlights

Island Hopping on Cres

The ferry takes us to the island of Cres, which we ride down to its southern tip. The return crossing runs via the Porozina–Brestova ferry back to the mainland – a day dedicated entirely to the islands off the coast.

Discover Plitvice Lakes

Plitvička Jezera National Park lies in the mountains and delivers a winding riding day. Part of the return route follows the famous coastal road along the Mediterranean before heading back to the base hotel.

Amphitheatre in Pula

In Pula we visit the historic Roman amphitheatre before continuing on to Poreč, where we stroll through the old town on foot. The way back to the base hotel winds through the towns of Pazin and Opatija.

Kapela Mountain Stage

The route heads into the hinterland around the Kapela Mountains, following small roads through forests and sleepy villages. A varied day full of cornering fun away from the main highways.

Alpine Passes En Route

On the way to the base hotel, the route crosses the Radstädter Tauern Pass and the Passo di Predil through Austria and Slovenia – scenically and for riding one of the finest stages of them all.
