Overview
Motorcycle tours North America at a glance
North America is the land of the big highways. In the USA you ride Route 66 from Chicago to the California coast, carve along the Pacific Coast Highway above the ocean and through the red rock of the Southwest national parks – Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Zion. In the Northeast, New England glows in the Indian Summer; in Florida you roll into Daytona Bike Week. Further north the Rocky Mountains open up across Canada with long mountain passes, lakes and forests, and in the far north the Alaska Highway is waiting. Most tours are ridden on Harley-Davidsons and big tourers – long stages and wide-open space. Every trip is guided, with a leader who knows the roads. This page carries only what can actually be booked: fixed departures, vetted operators, stated inclusions. Guided motorcycle tours North America ride in small groups with a local guide and a support vehicle; self-guided versions hand you the same route with a roadbook and accommodation already booked, but leave the pace and the breaks to you. Whether a trip covers one country or links several is decided by the routes above – or country by country.
What a trip costs, which riding level it asks for and what is included is stated on every tour, before you book.

The riding regions of North America
Riding regions do not follow borders. These are what decides how a trip feels – and which month it makes sense in.
-
Rocky Mountains
The range runs from New Mexico up into British Columbia. Beartooth Highway, Going-to-the-Sun Road and the Icefields Parkway behind the Canadian border sit on one line – with national parks, passes above 3,000 metres and stages measured in days rather than corners in between.

Utah, Arizona and Nevada deliver the images you fly to America for: Monument Valley, Zion, the Grand Canyon and Route 66 in between. Straight highways, red rock formations and a heat that pushes riding time into the early morning in midsummer.

From Highway 1 in California over the cliff roads of Oregon up to Vancouver Island: coastal fog in the morning, redwoods in the afternoon and ferries that stitch the stages together. Cooler and twistier than the rest of the continent – and the only route that stays rideable almost year-round.

In North America every region has its best time. The Southwest is ideal in spring and autumn – mild, not too hot. Route 66 rides best in May and September. New England glows orange and red in the October Indian Summer. Canada and Alaska only open their passes in June and stay open through September. Florida and Bike Week beckon from January through April.

Questions about booking
Six to nine months is realistic for the sought-after departures: groups are small and popular dates fill early. Short notice often still works – we check availability directly with the operator and tell you in the enquiry what is still bookable.
The cheapest bookable trip in North America starts at 6,300 €. Above that, duration, region and inclusions decide – a one-week standard tour sits well below a multi-week trip on a rental machine. The price and what it covers is on every tour page before you book.
Usually accommodation, guide, support vehicle and the inclusions the operator lists. Travel to North America is normally not part of it on long-haul trips, and neither is fuel, the rental machine or insurance unless explicitly named. The full list is on every tour.
You pick your departure on the tour page and send the booking; we pass it to the operator, who confirms it – only then does the travel contract come into being. Deposit and balance follow the operator's terms and go directly to them, not to Motourismo.
Within Europe often yes; for long-haul destinations a rental machine on site is usually cheaper and far simpler. If you still want to ride your own machine in North America, we arrange the transport. Every tour description states whether own bike, rental or both is intended.
If a guided trip does not reach its minimum group size by the stated deadline, the operator can cancel. You get payments back or move to another departure – deadlines and the cancellation scale are in the pre-contractual information before you book.
