On motorcycle tours through Africa you ride over the dunes and clay pistes of the Moroccan Sahara, across Namibia's gravel expanses and through the winding Cape region of South Africa. Africa is best travelled counter-seasonally. While it's winter in Europe, southern Africa is in its dry season with pleasant riding temperatures. Morocco rides best in spring and autumn, when the Sahara days are mild rather than blazing hot. Tanzania shines in the dry season from June to October, Madagascar outside the rainy months. So you'll find a region with ideal conditions almost all year round.

In aller Kürze: Am 25.05. stellte ich eine Buchungsanfrage zu einer Motorradreise und verschickte noch am gleichen Tag, zur Komplettierung der Unterlagen, Kopien meines Passes sowie des Führerscheins.Wer jetzt eine Feedback-Mail, Eingangsbestätigung etc erwarten würde - in meinen Fall passierte konkret NICHTS. Am 29.05. verschickte ich eine Erinnerungs-Mail mit der Bitte, mir über den Eingang der Unterlagen eine Rückinfo zu geben. Es passierte erneut NICHTS. Sowohl am 30.05 und am 31.05. versuchte ich mehrfach das Unternehmen telefonisch zu erreichen. Mein einziger Kontakt bestand permanent in einer Bandansage des AB - alle Mitarbeiter im Gespräch :-))- . Selbstverständlich habe ich auf dem AB meine Rufnummer mit Bitte um Rückruf hinterlassen. Es passierte, mittlerweile in gewohnter Weise, NICHTS! Fazit: Dem Unternehmen, welches mE den Anspruch hat, im Dienstleistungssektor tätig sein zu wollen, fehlen hierfür elementare Kompetenzen wie Kommunikations- und Diemstleistungsbereitschaft! Ich würde meine Erfahrungen auch als komplettes Organisationsversagen der Firma bewerten. Wer sich also im Vorfeld der Planung der schönsten Tages des Jahres nicht unnötig ärgern will, dem seien dringend andere Alternativen, die man im Netz findet, angeraten! Nachtrag zur Antwort vom Inhaber: Ihr könnt davon ausgehen, das ich die Technik beherrsche und mich vor! negativen Bewertung, die ich ungern schreibe, umfassend vergewissere. Die Antwort vom Inhaber ist daher nicht richtig - ich wurde weder angerufen, noch bekam ich eine E-Mail. Das man vorher seinen Spam-Filter und die Anrufliste checkt, sind Basics, die zumindest mir Niemand erklären muss. Es bleibt dabei- Euer Dienstleistungsverhalten ist grottenschlecht und nicht zu toppen. Daran ändern auch Eure lauwarmen Beschwichtigungen hier nichts."

Questions about booking

Six to nine months is realistic for the sought-after departures: groups are small and popular dates fill early. Short notice often still works – we check availability directly with the operator and tell you in the enquiry what is still bookable.

The cheapest bookable trip in Africa starts at 2,850 €. Above that, duration, region and inclusions decide – a one-week standard tour sits well below a multi-week trip on a rental machine. The price and what it covers is on every tour page before you book.

Usually accommodation, guide, support vehicle and the inclusions the operator lists. Travel to Africa is normally not part of it on long-haul trips, and neither is fuel, the rental machine or insurance unless explicitly named. The full list is on every tour.

You pick your departure on the tour page and send the booking; we pass it to the operator, who confirms it – only then does the travel contract come into being. Deposit and balance follow the operator's terms and go directly to them, not to Motourismo.

Within Europe often yes; for long-haul destinations a rental machine on site is usually cheaper and far simpler. If you still want to ride your own machine in Africa, we arrange the transport. Every tour description states whether own bike, rental or both is intended.

If a guided trip does not reach its minimum group size by the stated deadline, the operator can cancel. You get payments back or move to another departure – deadlines and the cancellation scale are in the pre-contractual information before you book.
