Four riding days from Albufeira, coast and hills

After landing at Faro airport a transfer takes you to Albufeira and the four-star Regency Salgados, your base for five nights. At the get-together in the evening you meet the group and the two German- and English-speaking guides. On each of the four riding days every stage starts and ends at the hotel: once into the backcountry, once along the Atlantic coast, once up to the Fóia and once out to Almodóvar. No more than six riders are out together, and if the pace differs the guides split the group.

Highlights

The Coast at Albufeira

The coastal stage follows the Atlantic cliffs to viewpoints and hidden coves. Winding paved sections alternate with short gravel stretches, so everyone can settle into a pace that suits them for the day.

Algarve Backcountry

Away from the coast, easy to moderate tracks and quiet side roads run through cork oak forests and small villages. Anyone who would rather stay on tarmac rides the same stage paved, and the choice is open every morning.

Hairpins up the Fóia

The highest point in the Algarve is reached by winding hairpin bends, with a wide view over the south coast of Portugal. There is time for a break at the top before the easy roll back down to the valley.

Cork Oaks at Almodóvar

The last riding day heads north into the Alentejo, where centuries-old cork oaks shape wide, quiet landscapes. Back at the base in the evening, the boot beer marks the end of the week out on the road.

Six Riders, Two Guides

Never more than six riders are out together, and if the pace differs the two German- and English-speaking guides split the group. The rental machine comes with full service, fuel and crash parts included.
