Three riding days from Amarante to the Douro

You are picked up at Porto airport; the facilities near Amarante lie about 70 kilometres away. After the handover of the machines and a shared dinner come three riding days in the terrain, led by local pilots who speak German, English, Spanish and Portuguese. The routes are meant for experienced off-road riders: standing up confidently, loose ground and steep climbs are all part of it. Lunch is taken in typical restaurants of the region, and four nights are spent at the farmhouse on full board.

Highlights

Serra do Alvão Tracks

The first riding day leads through dense forest, over open plateaus and along technical gravel tracks. The terrain keeps changing, and with it come wide views across the mountain ridges of northern Portugal.

Steep Ground on the Marão

The second riding day counts as the most technically demanding section: steep climbs, loose rock and tight hairpins in the Serra do Marão. Standing up confidently pays off here, and so does concentration.

Quinta do Douro

The third riding day ends among the terraced vineyards of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, a UNESCO World Heritage site. At Quinta do Douro a guided visit and a wine tasting round off the last day on the machines.

KTM 450, 350 or 250

You pick the rental machine to match your riding level from three capacity classes. Fuel, tyres for every stage, technical support on site and the complete set of protective equipment are all covered.

Farmhouse on Full Board

Four nights at the family farmhouse with every meal included, and lunch taken in typical restaurants of the region. The group rides exclusively, from two people upwards and without outside participants.
