Timisoara, Sibiel, Sinaia & Bucharest, 13 Days

The first day takes you around 550 km of motorway from Vienna to Timisoara. Your luggage can travel in the support vehicle, so you choose your own pace. In the evening you meet the group in the hotel restaurant for dinner together.

Today the ride begins through the Carpathian foothills along the Danube gorge at the Iron Gate, right on the riverbank. Around 320 km of curves lead you to the hotel at the Iron Gate, one of the finest sections of the whole loop.

In the morning you take a short boat ride at the Iron Gate to the statue of King Decebalus, before 160 km lead through a long valley and past Tismana Monastery to Targu Jiu. There the sculptures of Constantin Brancusi await.

Today brings one of the high points: the Urdele Pass Transalpina at 2,145 metres, the highest pass road in Romania, with a lunch picnic along the way. In the evening you stay on a farmhouse in Sibiel with folklore, wine and tuica.

Today you reach the famous Bran Castle at the foot of the Carpathians, where you can browse the merchant village for souvenirs. Around 220 km then take you to the former royal seat of Sinaia with its charming centre.

On this stage you leave the Carpathians and ride around 360 km towards the Danube Delta. At Galati you cross the Danube by ferry and reach a completely new, appealing landscape with fresh fish for dinner.

At sunrise the Danube Delta boat excursion takes you in two boats into the species-rich nature reserve, where herons, pelicans and white-tailed eagles can be seen. After the picnic on board it is about two hours on to Romania's best-known seaside resort, Mamaia Beach.

Two days on the Black Sea are given over to relaxing: free time in the aqua park, on the sandy beach or in the wellness hotel with spa, sauna and whirlpool right by the sea. If you wish, explore the coast around Constanta on your own.

This stage runs around 290 km along the Danube through tree-lined avenues and the vineyards of Murfatlar near the Bulgarian border to Bucharest, where a top hotel with full comfort awaits you.

By private coach with a German-speaking guide you explore the Palace of Parliament and the city centre. At lunchtime the famous beer hall Carul cu Bere beckons, and in the evening the hotel wellness area is at your disposal.

Today you ride the Transfagarasan pass stretch, probably the most famous pass in Romania and one of the finest motorcycle roads in the world. A generous farmer's picnic at lunch, before you reach the small city of Sibiu.

Today you have the choice: the normal route on country roads back to Timisoara, or a detour over the other side of the Transalpina for another 100 km of curves, before the farewell party at the restaurant awaits.

To close, the motorway runs all the way back to Vienna. Everyone picks their own pace for the final 550 km or so, before the memories of two weeks in Romania travel home with you.
