Four riding days, 1,200 km, 30% gravel

It opens at the hotel in Fuengirola, where the group comes together on the first evening by 6 pm. From there four guided stages run through the province of Málaga: first over winding mountain roads to Júzcar and Ronda, then through the karst of El Torcal to the gorge at El Chorro, and finally up into the Sierra Nevada. We bring your own machine and your luggage from the Ruhr area to Málaga, so you fly in comfortably and meet the group right on site. A certified guide and riding-safety instructor accompanies every single stage.

Highlights

Júzcar, the Smurf Village

The film village in the province of Málaga is painted entirely blue and sits among narrow lanes and winding mountain roads. An unusual backdrop in the middle of the hills, before the way continues on toward Ronda.

Tarmac and Natural Track

Around 30 per cent of the distance runs on unsurfaced natural tracks, the rest on winding tarmac. Road riders and friends of loose ground both get their money's worth on one and the same stage of the week.

Royal Trail at El Chorro

The famous Caminito del Rey at El Chorro is a popular destination for climbers, hikers and mountain bikers. The gorge ranks among the most impressive landscapes in Andalusia and lies right on the route.

Antequera and El Torcal

A narrow, winding road climbs to the El Torcal nature park with its bizarre rock formations, passing the historic dolmens of Antequera. Scenically this is one of the strongest sections of the whole week.

Pico de Veleta Summit

The high point lies in the Sierra Nevada: the climb to Pico de Veleta with its countless hairpins, once called a curvy nirvana by a riding magazine. Here the highest mountains in Spain stand right in front of you.

Stage 1

Day 1–6

Spain

From the Costa del Sol over Ronda and Júzcar into the Sierra Nevada, and back along the coast to Málaga.

Day 1 · Spain

Day 1: Arrival in Fuengirola

The meeting point is the hotel in Fuengirola, where you arrive by 6 pm. The year-round mild climate on the Costa del Sol draws visitors to the sun coast, and the evening winds down with a first look at what the coming days hold.

Day 2 · Spain

Day 2: Júzcar and Ronda

Today covers around 220 kilometres along a wonderful stretch to Júzcar, the blue film village of the Smurfs. Shortly afterwards the white houses of Ronda appear on the horizon – after the Alhambra, the second-biggest visitor magnet in Andalusia.

Day 3 · Spain

Day 3: El Torcal and El Chorro

A narrow, winding road via Villanueva de la Concepción leads to the El Torcal nature park, around 40 kilometres north of Málaga. The way continues to Antequera and to the Caminito del Rey at El Chorro, popular with climbers, hikers and mountain bikers.

Day 4 · Spain

Day 4: Sierra Nevada

Your luggage travels ahead by support vehicle today, while you climb the highest mountains in Spain. At Pico de Veleta, right in the middle of the ski area, so many hairpins wait that a riding magazine once wrote of a curvy nirvana.

Day 5 · Spain

Day 5: Back to the Coast

Along the water the way runs back toward Málaga airport, with repeated winding detours up into the hills. The Sierra Nevada behind you and the open sea ahead – an atmospheric close to the four riding days across Andalusia.

Day 6 · Spain

Day 6: Individual Departure

The last day ends with an individual departure from the hotel. You run back over the impressions of the past days once more before heading home with plenty of new experience. Machine and luggage follow by transport to the Ruhr area.

You drop your machine off in the Ruhr area around one week before the start; we load it and bring it to Andalusia. At the latest two weeks after the final riding day, machine and luggage are back in the Ruhr area. On site we also handle the luggage transfer between Fuengirola and the accommodation in the Sierra Nevada.
