North Spain Motorcycle Tour: Santander & Oviedo

The North Spain motorcycle tour starts in St. Wendel and takes you through France directly into northern Spain. After the first stages through Burgundy and the Dordogne, you reach the Atlantic at Arcachon and cross into Spain via Bayonne and Irun. The Santander–Oviedo motorcycle stages form the heart of the trip: Costa Verde coastal roads alternate with mountain passes through the Basque Country, Cantabria and Asturias. The Spain-France motorcycle tour is rounded off by day trips into the mountains around Oviedo, before the route returns via Bilbao and Pamplona back through France to St. Wendel.

On the way south, the North Spain motorcycle tour crosses the heart of France, from the forests of Burgundy to the Atlantic coast.

The North Spain motorcycle tour starts in St. Wendel. After Metz we leave the motorway and ride on national roads through Forêt d'Orient National Park, past Saint-Dizier and Troyes, to our hotel in the Auxerre area.

On this guided Spain motorcycle tour we continue through the heart of France: from Burgundy we follow minor national roads via Lignières and La Souterraine to our second hotel in Limoges.

Day 3: Limoges – Arcachon

Shortly after setting off, the Spain-France motorcycle tour passes through Périgord-Limousin National Park, on past Bordeaux, to Arcachon right on the Bay of Biscay – our overnight stop for the first night on the Atlantic coast.

Picos de Europa National Park is the destination for the second day tour from Oviedo. Around and partly through the park, we experience the highlands and the highest peaks of this Picos de Europa motorcycle tour.

The return journey begins: this Spain coastal motorcycle tour takes us today through national park, past lakes and river valleys, with just one short motorway section and otherwise curves all the way to Bilbao.

The Bilbao–Pamplona motorcycle route takes us on national roads back into the interior: via Vitoria and Estella we reach Pamplona, entirely without motorway and with a steady flow of curves through the wide Basque hill country.

Stage 3

Day 12–13

France

The return route passes through France again, heading home.

Late morning we cross back into France on this Spain-France motorcycle round trip: via Pau, Tarbes and Toulouse we continue to the Castres/Gaillac area for our hotel.

Day 13 · France

Day 13: Castres/Gaillac – Lyon

On this own-bike Spain motorcycle tour we head towards the Mediterranean today: country road to Béziers, then motorway past Montpellier, Nîmes and Orange to the Lyon area for our final hotel.

A support vehicle handles your luggage transport (up to 15 kg per person) throughout the entire tour.
