Port d'Envalira
At 2,409 metres the Port d'Envalira is the highest year-round pass road in Europe. Winding asphalt and wide panoramas accompany the climb across Andorra and over into France on the second riding day.
Collada de Tosas
The first riding day crosses the Montseny, the local mountain of Barcelona, and the winding Collada de Tosas to Puigcerdà, a Pyrenean town right on the Andorran border. Around 290 kilometres in all.
Bonaigua and Val d'Aran
The road follows the Noguera Pallaresa up to the Port de la Bonaigua and then drops into the Val d'Aran. One of the finest sections of the whole route, with the hotel set quietly on the valley floor.
Montserrat Monastery
On the way back the N-260 Pyrenean road leads out of the high mountains, past the Montserrat nature reserve and its monastery, Spain's most important pilgrimage site after Santiago de Compostela.
The View from Tibidabo
The last winding stretch climbs through the Collserola hills to the Tibidabo viewpoint. From up there Barcelona lies spread out below, before the descent into the city and back to the hotel.
