Entry
For EU, EEA and Swiss nationals, entry could hardly be simpler: an ID card is enough, with no paperwork for the motorcycle at all.

No carnet, no customs form: within the EU, entering on your own motorcycle is a pure formality.
Checklist for the border
The land borders with Belarus have been mostly closed since 2021, and the crossing into Kaliningrad (Russia) is practically unusable for tourists. For the motorcycle route that means: arrive via Poland or by ferry, but no continuation eastward.
Documents
An EU licence is enough. Checks are less frequent in Lithuania, but thorough when they happen.
Season
Lithuania is flat and has no passes; the weather alone decides the season: short summer, long winter.

Lithuania is flat, and the main routes are well built. Away from them the gravel begins, a good third of the network.

Fuel
Refuelling is a non-issue in Lithuania: a dense network, cards accepted, barely any price difference from Germany.

Safety
Lithuania is considered a safe country to travel in. The biggest risk is not crime, but speed and alcohol.
Emergency numbers
Health
No mandatory vaccinations, but ticks and an insurance gap that affects almost every motorcyclist here too.
Many travel and health insurance policies exclude riding motorcycles over 125 cc, even within the EU. Check your policy before booking and, if in doubt, take out additional cover that explicitly includes motorcycling.
