The Wild West, Route 66 and the East-West crossings are best ridden from April to October, when the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada are snow-free. Florida and the South, on the other hand, are more pleasant in the winter half of the year, since summer there turns hot and humid. Alaska has only a short but stable season from June to August.
