The motorcycle tour through wild Scandinavia - surrounded by untamed nature, Southern Norway offers the basic ingredients for one of the most beautiful motorcycle tours. Norway's coast and the famous fjords cannot be surpassed in beauty.
Enjoy the uniqueness of this country with all your senses on this tour. Our journey begins in the north of Germany, near Flensburg. The journey leads us through Denmark to our ferry port in Hirtshals.
From here we reach our destination - Norway - in a short time. Highlights such as the Lysefjord and Prekestolen, followed by the Sognefjord but also urine sweeps par excellence and many more highlights will captivate you on this extraordinary motorcycle tour.
Of course, the sensational view from the Skywalk on the Aurlandsfjord or on the Preikestolen, to name but a few, cannot be missed. These melodious names are guarantors for unsurpassable photo motives.
Our motorbike tour takes us off the "beaten tourist tracks" and right into the heart of the untouched nature of Norway. As a special highlight we offer the possibility to enjoy our lunch breaks in this unique landscape during a picnic.
Our road book lets us cruise along the fjords, past the rough but beautiful landscape we cross sea arms over bridges or with ferries. Beautiful middle class hotels along the entire route round off this extraordinary motorcycle tour.
In order to enable you to travel in a relaxed manner, our support vehicle will take care of the transport of your luggage. After arrival at the hotel you will find your luggage in your room.
After we have "experienced" this country in the truest sense, we leave Norway by ferry from Bergen and enjoy the ferry crossing to Hirtshals.
Enjoy this breathtaking motorcycle tour from its most beautiful side - from the back of a motorcycle.
P.S.: Nobody can exclude breakdowns, therefore we carry a motorcycle trailer during the whole travel period to be able to support you quickly in case of need.
Program, hotel and route changes are reserved!
Day 1: Arrival in Flensburg
Individual journey to Flensburg in the north of Germany. Dinner is already ordered and we get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. The anticipation is great and at the following tour briefing we discuss the details of this adventure trip.
If you are travelling with a car with a motorcycle trailer, it is possible, after consultation, to park the vehicle at the hotel for the duration of the journey.
Of course, you can also travel from Lörrach to Hamburg by motorail train. We will gladly assist you with the booking.
Daily mileage: not applicable
Day 2: Flensburg to Kristiansand (Norway)
After breakfast we set off for the Scandinavian adventure, for this we use the Danish motorway to Hirtshals. If there is time, we make a side trip to the North Sea, check in for the afternoon ferry to Kristiansand is in the late afternoon. After a relaxed ride, it is in front of us - the land of fjords and midnight sun. After docking it is only a hop to the hotel.
daily mileage: approx. 360 km
Day 3: Krisitansand - Sandnes
Fantastic landscapes and biker routes in almost untouched nature lie before us. We strengthen ourselves at the breakfast buffet, then we head north, mostly on the old North Sea road (RV44). We visit the Lindesness beacon which stands at Norway's south cape, via Egersund to the Hafrsfjord, to the monument three swords in the rock.
daily mileage: approx. 360 km
Day 4: Sandnes - Ulvik
Today begins with a cruise feeling, after loading the luggage in the accompanying vehicle, after a short trip we take the ferry to the fjord cruise in the Lysefjord. "Best of Norway" one could call the dreamlike fjord landscape, highlights like the Pulpit Rock as the Preikestolen is also called and the majesty at the Lysefjord, the Kjerag - with 1084 meters the highest peak at the shore of the fjord pass us by. Around noon we moor at Lysebotn. And on we go on two wheels - on an adventurous serpentine road we climb to a high plateau. Before we reach Ulvik, our destination for the day, the last highlight awaits us, the twin waterfall Lattefossen with a total drop of 165 m. After this eventful day, we let the evening come to an end with dinner together...
daily mileage: approx. 350 km
Day 5: Ulvik - Sogndal
In the middle of this natural paradise, our road book takes us to the western part of Norway to Stalheim, where it lies in front of us, the steep uphill road to Stalheimskleiva, with its 13 famous hairpin bends, riding fun par excellence. A detour to Norway's most famous railway, the Flambahn invites us to a coffee break before we see the Skywalk at the Aurlandsfjord on the horizon. The 30m long springboard-like viewing platform with integrated glass floor gives us unforgettable impressions. In the further course of the route there is the longest road tunnel with nearly 25 km, the Laertal tunnel in front of us. We prefer the road course over its mountains and enjoy the ride on the old panorama road.
To the hotel in Sogndal there are now different routes available. Whether it is a small toll road to the designated tourist road 55, a side trip to the glacier centre at Niggardsbreen, or a visit to the oldest stave church in Norway in Urnes, we will coordinate on site.
daily mileage: approx. 300 km - 380 km
Day 6: Sogndal - Nordfjordeid
We sail along the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Europe. It branches out into many small side arms and offers unique photo motives. And again, a "main means of transport of Norway" is waiting for us, the ferry. After crossing the ferry we reach the historical Balestrand. Here history was written to touch, already Kaiser Wilhelm tronte in his time in the world-famous Kviknes Hotel, one of the most famous photo motives of the city. His chair can still be admired in the beautiful old part of the hotel.
After the historical review we cross the tourist road 13 and make a detour to the Kjenndal Kova glacier tongue, which after years of growth is now also melting. We take side roads to the stage finish in Nordfjordeid.
daily mileage: approx. 310 km
Day 7: Nordfjordeid - Alesund
Today Norway is a must, after the old Styrnefjel road, a scenic route with overwhelming beauty and a visit to the Dalsnibba we roll through Geiranger, further to the Trollstigen which speaks for itself. After an exciting AhHa day we arrive in Alesund. In 1904 the wooden houses burned down almost completely, it was then ordered that only stone houses may be built here, so today it has a beautiful townscape in art nouveau style, we of course with our hotel in the middle of it.
daily mileage: approx. 350 km
Day 8: Alesund - Fjord
The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the visit of the unjustly often neglected Vestkap of Norway. This striking cape on the Princess Martha coast offers a unique photo backdrop. The day is marked by beautiful fjord roads and in the afternoon we approach Fjord where our next hotel is located.
daily mileage: approx. 300 km
Day 9: Fjord - Bergen
After breakfast another 220 km to Bergen, partly on beautiful side roads, we will check in in the afternoon at our city hotel in the heart of this beautiful city. At this time the passengers of the big cruise ships will slowly clear the place and return to the luxury liners. Attractions like the Floyenbahn, the train takes us to the top of the Floyenmit after a 6-minute ride and rewards us with a fantastic panoramic view of the city. The old town of Bryggen with its colourful wooden houses and old landing stages, which were once the base of the mighty Hanseatic League - but the traditional fish market is also nearby. There is plenty of time today for pure culture. With this in mind, we will end the day in the old town and enjoy our dinner in a stylish atmosphere.
Daily mileage: 220 km
Day 10: Bergen - Hirtshals (ferry connection)
After breakfast and check out and whoever wants - a short side trip into the city, a last photo and we start with the motorbikes to the Hurtigruten landing stage. Here we have a restaurant and other amenities on site. The ferry departure is scheduled for the afternoon - of course, we secure the best seats at the glass front at the bow of the ship, a thing that makes the trip through the fjords and archipelago to a very special experience with a suitable cold drink. Evening buffet with free drinks on board.
Daily mileage: 5 km
Day 11: Hirtshals - Flensburg
After the breakfast buffet on board we moor again in Hirtshals in the morning. From here we will cruise back home - our starting hotel in Flensburg is our destination for today. Arrived, a cool drink in a friendly atmosphere, memories and experiences of this very special journey together ... an unforgettable breathtaking motorcycle tour slowly comes to an end.
Daily mileage: 360 km
Day 12: Flensburg
After breakfast individual journey home
