An honest word among bikers
With the following lines we would like to prepare you for the adventure of your life. You are either about to book one of the most beautiful types of travel, or you have already done so. The biggest difference between our holiday type and a general package tour is that you are actively involved. Riding a motorcycle is one of the most beautiful things in life. At least for us bikers. The main focus of the trip is motorcycling through unique landscapes. We have designed the programs in such a way that both driving fun and experience are available in sufficient quantity.
Team spirit and adaptation in the group are absolutely necessary, just as you need to bring a certain basic fitness and experience, so that we can reach the goal together, happy and healthy. If you have doubts about your health, fitness or experience, please contact us beforehand. We would like to achieve the optimal holiday experience for you as well.
The daily stages are on average 250 - 400 kilometres long. That sounds a lot, but cannot be compared with the same route in Europe, considering that often 80 kilometres without passing through a town and a whole day without traffic lights are on the programme. There are also traffic jams as good as never. We are rarely in the saddle for more than five hours during the whole day. We reach our daily destination between 16 - 18 o'clock, depending on the season. Depending on the weather or temperatures, we may have to get out a little earlier or reach our daily destination later. However, if we want to experience a picture book sunset with full intention, it will be a little later.
Language: This offer is usually suitable for English and/or German speaking participants. We will gladly provide binding information upon request.
Mobility: The offer is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Please contact us for more information.
Day 01 - Flight to New Orleans
Flight with a renowned scheduled airline from your selected departure city to New Orleans (connecting flights are available). Upon arrival you will be met by your guide who will take you to a middle class hotel in the French Quarter. The rest of the evening is at your leisure to explore Bourbon Street. Overnight stay in New Orleans.
Day 02 - New Orleans, the "Big Easy"
The day is at your leisure. In the morning you can take a walk with your guide through the French Quarter and to the French Market. This is combined with a paddle-steamer tour, where you will have a Southern Fried Lunch and music on the Mississippi. Already a good introduction to "Nawlins", as the locals call their New Orleans. The afternoon and evening are at your free disposal. Get some of the unique spices and sauces for home and visit the popular Bourbon Street again, which offers something for everyone with its countless live music offerings. Overnight stay in New Orleans.
Day 03 - Oak Alley Plantation - Natchez 365 km
Today it is time to say goodbye to "Nawlins". Your luggage will be loaded into the inspection vehicle and the bikes will be taken over. On the way out of the city you will visit one of the unique cemeteries with the Hurricane Katrina Monument and then ride along River Road to the Oak Alley Plantation. There you will have an early lunch and for an entrance fee you can visit the Oak-Alley Plantation Mansion with its long oak avenue, probably the most photographed plantation mansion in the world. If you have seen the movie "Interview with a Vampire", you already know this place very well. Along the Mississippi and the Bayous you will pass Baton Rouge until you reach your destination for today, Natchez. If you have enough time, you can visit Stanton Hall, which dates back to the Antebellum period, otherwise it is on the program for a group photo the next morning. This is a perfect example of a summer house of the plantation owners. Natchez still has more than 200 such houses from the time before the American Civil War. You will experience the sunset at the river at J.D. in the "Under the Hill Saloon" before you go for dinner and still have the opportunity to visit the casino. Overnight stay in Natchez.
Day 04 - Natchez Trace Parkway - Tupelo 445 km
Today you start over the first part of the more than 700 km long Natchez Trace Parkway, which settlers, Indians and soldiers followed hundreds of years ago. Since 2005 it is now continuously passable from Natchez to Nashville, but closed for heavy traffic. Passing Jackson you will ride through deep forests and swamps. On the way you will take a short walk through a cypress forest, where you might even see alligators. Today you will spend the night in Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis Presley.
If you arrive in time you will stop at the Tupelo Hardware Store. Here the King of Rock'n Roll got his first guitar. This is the place where the history of Rock'n Roll started.
Day 05 - Elvis Presley - Graceland - Memphis 185 km
In the morning you will first visit the birthplace and memorial chapel of Elvis Presley in Tupelo. Around noon you reach Memphis and thus Graceland - the villa of the late rock'n roll idol. Here you have the possibility for an interesting audio tour in German language. In the late afternoon visit the Duck Parade at the Peabody Hotel and afterwards of course Beale Street, the capital of the Blues. B.B. King's and many other clubs invite to live music of the finest. Memphis is also known for its first-class BBQ restaurants. Overnight stay in Memphis.
Day 06 - Casey Jones - Nashville - Country music 380 km
After you already had Jazz, Cajun and Blues music, today's theme is Country Music. You will first visit the museum of the legendary railway hero Casey Jones in Jackson. From there you will meet smaller and smaller side streets. Following the hilly landscape of Mississippi and Tennessee, you will come back to the Natchez Trace Parkway. This is probably the most beautiful section of this beautiful road and gives you a slight curve training and a foretaste of what will follow in the next days. In the evening the hotel offers a shuttle to Broadway, with its countless bars and saloons, this is a must. The Wildhorse Saloon is the largest and has room for over 3000 country music aficionados. Overnight stay in the Nashville area.
Day 07 - Jack Daniels - Chattanooga Choo Choo 260 km
Today the deepest Tennessee is on the program. You will visit the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, which ironically is located in a dry (non-alcoholic) county. You will spend your lunch break in the beautifully restored place, just like you know it from countless commercials. Afterwards you will go on to the railway town of Chattanooga, which thanks to the Glenn Miller song "Chattanooga Choo Choo" doesn't need any advertising. But before that you will visit the Lookout Mountain. The winding scenic road leads you to the parking lot below the summit. Here you have the opportunity to visit Rock City, where you can walk through rock caves, narrow gorges, past a waterfall and over a suspension bridge to the lookout point. On a clear day you can let your eyes wander over 7 US states. Overnight stay in the Chattanooga area.
Day 08 - Cherohala Skyway - Deals Gap - the tail of the kite 300 km
Today the attraction for motorcyclists par excellence is certainly on the programme. After a demanding ride over the winding Cherohala Skyway, you will reach "Deals Gap" or "the tail of the dragon". The track has a total of 318 curves over a length of 17.6 km. The crowds of motorcyclists attracted by this track speak for themselves. As does the tree of shame, where the various motorcycle parts of those who have overdone it can be found. Be warned, the dragon bites and always catches the all too reckless ones. You spend your lunch break here and can visit the shop. Take a look at the wall of pictures and get the ultimate proof that you did it, in the form of a small sticker for your helmet. Afterwards we will go the 11 miles down the mountain. In the afternoon you will ride the Foothill Parkway at the foot of the
Great Smoky Mountains, to your destination for today's leg. Overnight stay in the Townsend/Gatlinburg area.
Day 09 - Great Smoky Mountains - 3000 turns - Blue Ridge Parkway 310 km
In the morning we continue with the cornering. You will cross the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and with a bit of luck you will get to see one of the shy black bears that live here. Over countless passes and curves you will cross the mountains and visit with Cherokee the administrative seat of the Indian tribe of the same name. You will spend your lunch break in Maggie Valley, where you will also find the worldwide unique motorcycle museum "Wheels through time" by Dale Walksler. Afterwards you continue your tour on the world famous Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina. After leaving the Parkway, you will cross the American Transylvania and reach the Anderson area of South Carolina. In the end, you have taken more than 3000 turns in the last two days. Overnight stay in the Anderson area.
Day 10 - Southern Pearl - Savannah 355 km
Today you start very early, through the states of South Carolina and Georgia, towards the Atlantic coast. Via beautiful country roads you will arrive in Savannah shortly after your lunch break. Here you have the opportunity to take part in an English-speaking trolley tour through the city. Movies like "Gone with the wind" and "Forrest Gump" were shot here. Of the original 24 city parks, 23 still exist today. Of course you will spend the evening in the old town and directly at the riverfront. Overnight stay in Savannah.
Day 11 - Saint Augustine - Florida 345 km
In the morning you leave Savannah to ride through the marshlands inland towards the sunshine state of Florida. You pass Brunswick and take a coffee break in St. Simon, on one of the offshore golden islands. After you have crossed the federal border to Florida, you will reach the Atlantic Ocean after a short time. You will follow the Atlantic Ocean until your lunch break. Afterwards you take a ferry across the bay and arrive at Jacksonville Beach. Today's final destination St. Augustine, which is the oldest city in the USA, is reached
You in the afternoon and there is still time for a bathing excursion to the nearby beach. In the evening you take a city tour on foot to get your bearings in the historical old town. Here you will get the best hand rolled cigars and souvenirs that remind you of the Spanish discoverers. Overnight stay in St. Augustine.
Day 12 - Daytona Beach - Orlando 200 km
You leave St. Augustine in the morning and follow the picturesque coastal road to the Daytona Beach area. Here you can visit Destination Harley®, the largest Harley-Davidson® store in the world by area. The last leg of the tour is a short stretch of the Interstate and you will drop your bikes off at our Orlando rental location at noon. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit one of the big outlet shopping malls. A shuttle will be provided here on site. Overnight stay in Orlando.
Day 13 - Orlando - Theme parks
The day is at your free disposal today. You have the possibility to visit one of the many theme parks like the Kennedy Space Center, Disney®, Seaworld® or Universal Studios®. The hotel offers a shuttle service to some of the parks. Overnight stay in Orlando.
OUR TOUR TIP: Day trip by bus to the Space Coast to the interesting Kennedy Space Center or visit the Seaworld® amusement park.
Day 14 - Return flight to Europe
The morning is still at your free disposal and it is time to say goodbye. In the course of the day, there will be a shuttle transfer to the airport in Orlando and the return flight to your chosen departure point (transfer connection possible).
Day 15 - Arrival in Europe
Arrival at your chosen departure point in the morning. End of the journey.
