Description

Here you will find a program designed specifically for motorcyclists.

Due to its special geographical structure and nature, Greece offers a great variety of possibilities. Besides the 13.676 km of coastline, in Hellas, you will find a great combination of mountains, rivers, gorges, streams, lakes, and valleys.

We know these areas from "before", from the time when there were no highways in Greece. These routes are still very important because they connect the different mountain villages with the rest of the world. The other dream landscapes we pass through are to be enjoyed "on top". You can enjoy a coffee at a kafenion everywhere and chat with the locals.

Our tip: take part in the guided tours and let yourself be enchanted by the ancient stories at the various ancient sites, such as Delphi, Mycenae, Epidavros, etc.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Igoumenitsa (96 km)

Individual arrival via Italy by ferry from Ancona, Venice, Bari, or Brindisi (subject to change). Since most ferries sail overnight, after the simple entry formalities you are already fit for the onward journey. Today's leg will take you to Ioannina, the capital of the Greek province of Epirus. Here you can visit the historic old town and enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the freshwater lake Pamvotida from the citadel. Here you will also find first-class restaurants and bars for your physical well-being. Overnight stay in Ioannina. Daily kilometer: approx. 96 Km

Day 2: Ioannina - Kastoria (183 km)

Today you will ride to the Pindos Mountains. You have two options to reach the day's destination. In any case, we recommend you to ride by the Vikos Gorge and enjoy this hammer view extensively. The Vikos Gorge is registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest gorge in the world, measured by the ratio between depth and width. The further ride to Kastoria through the mountains will more than thrill you on the motorcycle. Kastoria is picturesquely situated on a rocky peninsula in the freshwater lake of Kastoria. Fifty-seven of the seventy-two medieval churches are located in just the old town of Kastoria. You will not be able to miss them. From the 14th century until the end of the last, Kastoria was famous worldwide for its unique processing of furs. Our recommendation for today is to do at least the "small lake walk". This is about 10 km long and leads you along the peninsula. Sycamore, wild chestnut, and other trees will provide the necessary shade along the way. One of the main sights there is the former monastery Panagia Mavriotissa from 1083, where you can admire the historical frescoes and enjoy the panorama from the shore. Another highlight on the way is the "Dragon's Cave", which is a very beautifully developed cave with thousands of stalagmites and stalactites. For physical well-being there are numerous great restaurants and cafes on the promenade of the lake. Daily kilometers: approx. 164 - 183 km

Day 3: Kastoria - Naousa (154 km)

Today, the way is again the goal and a wonderful motorcycle route is ahead of you. The onward journey is meant to be on the old roads. In Edessa, you can have a lunch break at the waterfalls. On hot days it is a very good refreshment. The continuation to Naousa is also a beautiful route. Overnight stay in Naousa. Daily kilometers: approx. 154 km

Day 4: Naousa - Vergina - Paralia Katerinis (80 km)

Today's stage is not long, but very rich in history, because today you will dive into the history of Macedonia. The excavations of Vergina witness the ancient city of Aigai, which was once the capital of the Macedonian Empire. There is a large tumulus (burial mound) here, which almost certainly contained the tombs of Macedonian kings. Vergina is included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. Feel free to take the time to learn a little more about this part of Greek history from this period. The onward journey is guaranteed to be fun again. Today's stage destination is Paralia Katerinis, where you are also guaranteed to jump into the salty waters of the Aegean Sea. Overnight stay in the area of Paralia Katerinis. Daily kilometers: approx. 80 km

Day 5: Paralia Katerinis - Kalambaka (168 km)

Today it's "goodbye" to the beach of Paralia Katerinis and "hello" to the Meteora monasteries. The road will take you past Mount Olympus for the first time. Who has not heard stories about this mountain and its inhabitants from Greek mythology? Here you can find very beautiful corners to rest your body as well as great views for the soul. Today's destination is Kalambaka in the region of Thessaly, where you will have two overnight stays. Daily kilometers: about 168 km

Day 6: Meteora Monasteries (20 km)

Today you have the opportunity to admire these famous monasteries, which belong to the UNESCO world cultural heritage, built on top of unique rock formations. Even an earlier James Bond 007 movie with Roger Moore (For your eyes only-In deadly mission) used this area as a backdrop. Have a good evening in Kalambaka with tsipouro or retsina. Overnight stay in Kalambaka. Daily kilometer: approx. 20 km

Day 7: Kalambaka - Arta (173 km)

Get ready for one of the most winding routes of this tour because you will ride through Epiros. A wonderful route to Arta is waiting for you again. Lakes, rivers, streams, and curves without end. The overnight stay is in Arta. Daily kilometers: approx. 173 km

Day 8: Arta - Lakopetra, Peloponnese (205 km)

Today you will leave Epirus and ride through central Greece to Peloponnese. The ride will take you past numerous small and larger lakes and is very entertaining. The main attraction today is probably the crossing of the Gulf of Corinth over the 2.5 km long and 65 m high Rion-Antirion Bridge (officially Charilaos-Trikoupis Bridge) which is also subject to tolls. Passing Patras, the destination for the day is Lakopetra. Overnight stay in the Patras-Lakopetra area. Daily kilometers: approx. 205 km

Day 9: Lakopetra - Olympia - Methoni (218 km)

What about history? There is hardly a place in Greece without history. Especially not on the Peloponnese. After a beautiful ride through the Northern Peloponnese, you will soon arrive at ancient Olympia. Here, according to official chronology, the Olympic Games were held from 776 BC to 393 AD. Enjoy your time there and then, ride along the beautiful West Peloponnese coast past Pyrgos to Methoni, where you will spend the night today. On the way, you will find some opportunities to stop, jump into the water, eat something tasty and enjoy according to your mood. Daily kilometers: approx. 218 km

Day 10: Methoni - Sparti - Monemvasia (215 km)

The area has it all again. "This is Sparta" and "Molon Lave" everybody has heard once in his life. This is also your intermediate destination today. Visit the ancient acropolis of Sparti. There are only remains left, but ones worth visiting. The day's destination is the small town of Monemvasia on the eastern coast of Peloponnese. The history of this place is more Byzantine. Enjoy the great view in the evening with wine and good food. Overnight stay in Monemvasia. Daily kilometers: approx. 215 km

Day 11: Monemvasia - Porto Heli (247 km)

A wonderful route awaits you again today. You will ride mainly along the beautiful and very winding eastern coast of Peloponnese. "Old stones" are everywhere. But in any case, you should make a stop in ancient Epidaurus. The history here goes back to 5000 B.C. Some foundation stones of medicine and arts have been laid here. Don't miss visiting the theater, a marvel of acoustics. Your destination for the day and overnight stay is in Porto Heli, a popular Greek resort. Daily kilometers: approx. 247 km

Day 12: Porto Heli - Loutraki (145 km)

If you did not manage to stop at Epidaurus yesterday, you will have the second opportunity to do so today. The best way to do this is with a German-speaking guide who can tell you the most amazing stories. Also on today's program are the Mycenaean excavation sites and Corinth. The trip across the Corinth Canal will also be one of the highlights of this tour. Your destination for today is also a popular resort in Attica and is called Loutraki. Daily kilometers: approx. 145 km

Day 13: Loutraki - Delphi (185 km)

Get ready for another "must-see" destination. Delphi, the place where the famous oracle shared its prophecies. Since 1987, the excavations of Delphi have been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List. Overnight stay in the Delphi area. Daily kilometer: approx. 185 km

Day 14: Delphi - Patras (123 km)

Today you can enjoy the beautiful southern coastal road of central Greece or if you prefer, the northern Gulf of Corinth. You will again have the pleasure to cross the famous Rion-Antirion bridge and spend the night in Patras so that the next day you can take the ferry that will take you back to Italy. Daily kilometers: approx. 123 km

Day 15: Patras - Italy

End of this great dream tour through Greece.
