Breakfast, if offered by the hotels (A frank word about breakfast in the USA: We would like to point out that breakfast as an included service in American or Canadian hotels is not a matter of course. There are different varieties of breakfast. Some hotels offer coffee and some kind of rolls, toast or a piece of cake, plus maybe some jam. If one is lucky, there is some fruit or dairy products. Some accommodations only offer coffee with a coffee maker in the room. Other hotels offer a varied breakfast. Many hotels decide in the middle of the season to launch this service, to abolish it or even to change it. There is generally everywhere a possibility to buy breakfast for little money. We write in the services "Partial breakfast", because we can not guarantee which hotel all of a sudden decides for it or against it). |

An honest word among bikers: |
With the next lines we would like to prepare you in the best way for the adventure of your life. You are either about to book one of the most beautiful types of travel, or you have already done so. The biggest difference between our type of holiday and a general package tour is that you are actively involved. Riding a motorcycle is one of the best things in life. At least for us bikers. The focus of the trip is motorcycling through unique landscapes. We have designed the programs in such a way that both riding fun and experience are present in sufficient quantity. Team spirit and adaptation in the group are absolutely necessary just as you need to bring a certain basic fitness and experience so that we can reach the destination together happy and healthy. If you have any doubts about your health, fitness or experience levels, please contact us beforehand. We want to achieve the best holiday experience for you too. The daily stages are on average 250 - 400 kilometers long. That sounds a lot, but it can't be compared to the same route in Europe, considering that there are often 80 kilometers without passing through a town and a whole day without traffic lights during the program. There are also hardly any traffic jams. We are rarely in the saddle for more than five hours throughout the day. We reach our daily destination between 4 - 6 p.m., depending on the season. Depending on the weather and daily temperatures, it can happen that we have to leave a little earlier or reach our daily destination later. However, if we want to experience a picture book sunset with full intention, it will be a little later. |
- |
Insurance: |
We generally recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. |
For tours in non-European countries, we also recommend that you take out health insurance abroad and luggage insurance. |
- |
Upon request: |
1/2 double rooms can be booked upon request. If a 1/2 double room is already available, we will confirm t to you in your booking. If the 1/2 double room is not available at that very moment, then we will confirm a single room first. As soon as we have a booking for the second half of the room, we will immediately credit you the single room surcharge. |
- |
Information on ESTA: |
German travelers still need approved ESTA to enter the country. |

Officials at the immigration counters can refuse entry to the USA to passengers without ESTA authorization. Description
South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado - the cowboy states of the West are breathtaking wonders created by Mother Nature - with incredible trails made for motorcycles.
The start and finish of the trip is Rapid City, a beautiful town in the middle of the Black Hills.
Important points of the tour are Yellowstone National Park with its vast forests, numerous mountain lakes, deep canyons, geysers, waterfalls, and a particularly diverse wildlife population. American bison herds, elk, and much more can hardly be experienced at close range anywhere else than on this tour.
Experience Western towns as if they were straight out of a John Wayne movie: Cody, with its Western duels and cowboy bars; Buffalo; and, of course, the historic gambling town of Deadwood, where Kevin Costner's former saloon houses a large collection of memorabilia from his movies. "Dances with Wolves" was partly filmed in the beautiful Black Hills.
And, of course, Sturgis - THE motorcycle rally of the West. In Sturgis and the Black Hills of South Dakota, it's all just waiting for you. All this is an experience of the real West.
Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Flying over the Black Hills and landing in Rapid City is a unique experience. That's why we chose this place, especially for you, as Rapid City is the ideal destination to start and end this tour. Surrounded by pine-covered mountains, the city offers numerous restaurants, lodging, and shopping options in addition to national monuments such as Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse National Monument. Your guides will be waiting for you at the airport and together we will take you to your centrally located hotel. There at the Welcome Drink, we will inform you about the next day's itinerary.
-
Day 2: Rapid City - Crazy Horse - Rapid City (236 km)
We start the day relaxed and meet after breakfast for the first briefing where we briefly refresh the American traffic rules and explain the course of today's stage. Afterward, we get ready and ride to the station in Vale to pick up our bikes. After that, we will make our way to Hill City, and over beautiful motorcycle trails, we will arrive at Crazy Horse National Monument. This huge monument is still under construction in honor of the Oglala Lakota leader Crazy Horse. We visit the museum and enjoy the view of this monument. Now we ride along the beautiful Needles Highway with its dream curves, tunnels, and a "magical" mixture of rocks, forest, and meadows. But that's not all, because we also ride on the famous "Iron Mountain Road", another one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in the region. Afterward, we will ride back to Rapid City to our hotel, where we will stay overnight. Tour length approx. 236 Km
-
Day 3: Rapid City - Mount Rushmore NM - Scottsbluff, Nebraska (345 km)
After breakfast, we load the support vehicle and head to Mount Rushmore National Monument first. There we admire one of the most famous and popular sights of the United States. The approximately 18-meter-high effigies of the four presidents (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln) were blasted and carved into the granite rock over the course of 14 summers. The monument was completed in 1941. After enjoying the view and taking several pictures, we ride back into beautiful Custer State Park in hopes of catching more of the area's free-roaming buffalo herds and other wildlife. Today we ride through the Great Plains of Nebraska. Here we will get an impression of this seemingly endless prairie. Large, wide fields on which hundreds to thousands of hay bales lie. In between there are partly abandoned houses to see. Our overnight destination is the town of Scottsbluff. Tour length: approx. 345 Km
-
Day 4: Scottbluff - Estes Park, Colorado (335 km)
On our way south we thunder through the prairie, passing the capital of Wyoming, Cheyenne. Then after a break in Loveland, we head straight for Estes Park, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, whose Trail Ridge Road is America's highest paved road. Scenic overlooks offer spectacular views of Rocky Mountain peaks rising to 14,000 feet. Eleven miles of the route are above timberline and pass mountainous tundra country. Established by Congress on January 26, 1915, the park is home to all the splendor of the Rocky Mountains. We will spend the evening in Estes Park, a popular summer resort and site of the Rocky Mountains National Park headquarters. It is located on the Big Thompson River. The urban outskirts also include the historic Stanley Hotel, built in the neo-colonial style in 1909. Stephen King stayed here as a guest when he got the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in the novel "The Shining". Tour length: approx. 335 km
-
Day 5: Estes Park - Steamboat, Colorado (225 km)
Rising to an elevation of 12,183 feet, Trail Ridge Road seems to leave the earth behind. Cutting straight through the heart of Rocky Mountain Nation Park, the trail reaches a world of rare alpine beauty. Peaks loom in all directions in the distance, while fragrant wildflowers blanket the tundra in mid-summer. Keen observers can usually spot moose, bighorn sheep, and other wildlife traversing the grasslands and cliffs. After reaching Grand Lake, a popular resort on the shores of Colorado's largest natural lake, we follow the Colorado River for part of today's route. In the evening we find ourselves in Steamboat Springs, known for its excellent powder snow during the winter months. The valley and surrounding area include a variety of geothermal hot springs. The town owes its name to the springs. Overnight stay in Steamboat Springs. Tour length: approx. 225 km
-
Day 6: Steamboat - Vernal, Utah (286 km)
We continue our journey to the Dinosaur National Monument, located on the southeast flank of the Uinta Mountains and bordered by Colorado, Utah, and the confluence of the Green River and the Yampa River. The park has fossils of dinosaurs, including Allosaurus, Abydosaurus, and the sauropod genus (known for their long necks and long, whip-like tails). Tour length: approx. 286 Km
-
Day 7: Vernal - Pinedale, Wyoming (334 km)
North of Vernal is the Flaming Gorge Reactional Area, the center of which is the 91-mile (145.6 km) long Flaming Gorge Reservoir, a water reservoir that was created in 1964 by the Flaming Gorge Dam along the Green River. Because of the spectacular red rock cliffs that frame the river in this area, the area was named "Flaming Gorge" in 1869 by explorer John Wesley Powell, who drove down the Green River during his expeditions. Pinedale National Park is located on the Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byway on our way to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Pinedale is a true Wild West town. On this beautiful ride, within minutes, the gateway opens to a travel destination with numerous historic pioneer trails and cultural attractions, such as the Museum of the Mountain Man, with phenomenal nature and unique landscapes with ten times more wildlife than humans. We recommend an optional visit to the Museum of the Mountain Man, where, among other things, the true story of Hugh Glass is told, just as we heard it from the Hollywood film The Get to Know Revenant. Overnight in Pinedale. Tour length: approx. 334 km
-
8. Pinedale - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming/Montana (335 km)
After breakfast, we make our way to Jackson, which we will reach after about 1 hour. Jackson is a quaint little western town surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is the main destination of millions of tourists who want to visit the nearby Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and the National Elk Refuge. Our next natural wonder of the day in Grand Teton National Park, with its rugged mountain peaks looming over the Jackson Hole Valley. Afterward, it goes to the highlight of the day, the Yellowstone National Park! The oldest national park has still preserved its original wilderness, 97% of the 3,400 square miles of the park are still undeveloped. Old Faithfull is the world's most famous geyser. There are more than 10,000 other geothermal features in Yellowstone National Park, including geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles (steam escape points).
Overnight in the park or in West Yellowstone. Tour length: approx. 280 - 335 km
-
Day 9: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming (275 km)
A full day at leisure to explore the many wonders of the park. Enjoy the extraordinary mountain wilderness with clean waters and beautiful mountain air. The wildlife in the park is of rare beauty with grizzly bears, wolves, foxes and not forgetting the free-roaming herds of bison and wapiti deer. Tour length: approx. 160-275 km
-
Day 10: Yellowstone National Park - Cody, Wyoming (215 km)
Today we ride on the Buffalo Bill Highway, which follows the north branch of the Shoshoni River East to Cody. Buffalo Bill, Cody's founder and namesake, called the road, "The most beautiful 50 miles in the world." In the afternoon we will enter Cody, a small western town. The nightly rodeo is not to be missed - plus you get the real Western feel while watching a Western shootout in front of the historic Irma Hotel. Tour length: approx. 215 km
-
Day 11: Cody - Buffalo, Wyoming (287 km)
The 45-mile Cloud Peak Skyway (state highway - US16), connects the town of Tensleep and the city of Buffalo and crosses the southern part of the Bighorn National Forest. Furthermore, it offers breathtaking views of often snow-capped mountain peaks. Highlights include Hospital Hill, Powder Pass, Meadow Lark Lake, and Tensleep Canyon. The historic town of Buffalo, with its many shops and art galleries, is idyllically nestled between the gently rolling plains of the West and the towering peaks of the Big Horn Mountains. Here we will enjoy the hospitality of the Old West. What not to miss: the historic Hotel Occidental! As soon as you step through the front door of the hotel, you truly go back to the Old West - standing on the floor where Butch Cassidy and Calamity Jane stood. The saloon's magnificent bar counter is original. Tour length: approx. 287 Km
-
12. Buffalo - Devils Tower N.M. - Spearfish Canyon - Deadwood - Sturgis, South Dakota (383 km)
On our way to the Black Hills of South Dakota, we stop at Devil's Tower, an extraordinary natural monument and a landmark that can be seen from far away. This huge remote rock (alt. 5118 feet) was designated as the first National Monument in the United States of America in 1906. Known to Native Americans as Mateo Tipi, the rock was the subject of an ancient legend. While the name Devils Tower is not as familiar, millions will recognize the outline of the rock from the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," where the rock tower served as a landing pad for the awe-inspiring alien mother ship. Another great "ride" through Spearfish Canyon takes us to our next stop, Deadwood. This historic town, tucked away in a pine-clad mountain canyon, is not far from where Kevin Costner filmed "Dances with Wolves." For more than a century, gold mining flourished in the old Western town of Deadwood. Almost all of the attractions are related to gold or the legacy of the town's wild and tangled gold rush. Deadwood became the third place in the nation, after the states of Nevada and Atlantic City (N.J.), with legalized gambling. The revenue has made Deadwood's extensive historic preservation possible. More than 85 historic casinos in Deadwood offer blackjack, poker, and slot machines. Gambling for money is as much a part of Deadwood's history as prospecting for gold. In fact, the Gold Rush of 1876 began in Deadwood's legendary saloons, where dancers and notorious gamblers like Poker Alice and Wild Bill Hickok made their appearances. Our destination for today is legendary Sturgis. Here we will see this small town's preparations for the massive rush to the world's most famous motorcycle rally live. The ghosts of Bike Week cast their shadows far ahead and can be felt everywhere. Tour length: approx. 383 Km
-
Day 13: Sturgis - Motorcycle Return - Rapid City (33 km)
In the morning we continue to enjoy Sturgis and linger in the city until noon, when we return our bikes to the Station in Vale. For those who haven't had enough, we will organize (optional/cost) a transfer to the Harley-Davidson® Dealer in Rapid City to stroll through the stalls, do the last shopping, eat typical American specialties, and sniff the rally air that officially starts the next day. Today is Thursday and like every Thursday in the summer in Rapid City everything is set to party in the evening. Two streets are closed in the center, stages are set up and the free for all concert starts. There is hardly a better way to end a tour. The overnight stay is for the last time in Rapid City. Tour length: approx. 33 Km
-
Day 14: Rapid City, return flight or extension
Transfer to the airport and return flight home.
Alternatively: Today starts the biggest biker party in the region, the famous Black Hills Rally.
Book our 2-day individual extension package including the return flight extension and enjoy your very own rally.
Would you like to stay longer? No problem for us. Please let us know your wishes and we will realize all possible requests.
-
Day 15: Arrival in Germany
Arrival in Germany. End of the trip.
- Program changes are reserved-
