On this tour the tour guide drives the luggage vehicle, he does not drive ahead of the group. He shows you the day's stage in detail in advance, gives tips on route design and tips on places of interest. You will be given detailed maps and a logbook so that you can travel from A to B in small groups. This way, everyone can plan their day according to their own (riding) wishes. From 10 motorcycles a second tour guide on the motorcycle accompanies the tour.
Single travellers can book a ½ twin room. In this case, the room will be shared with another participant (of the same sex), provided that a corresponding booking has been made. In this case the single supplement is not applicable.
Extend your stay with extra days before or after the tour, a stopover on the outbound or return flight or a side trip to the South Seas - we are happy to vary the included flights and arrange desired extensions!

Description

You'll stay on a New Zealand farm and ride off the beaten track. In addition, this tour is also peppered with fun coastal roads and the greatest motorcycle routes!

With a total of 26 days this is the longest motorcycle tour through New Zealand in our program. Therefore, you will also discover off-the-beaten-track areas such as the Bay of Plenty, the East Cape and the Otago Peninsula, home of the rare King Penguins. You will also spend the night on a typical New Zealand farm! This motorcycle tour also includes fantastic motorcycle routes and many of the famous sights, e.g. the impressive island world of the Bay of Islands, the winding coastal road of the Coromandel Peninsula, the exotic beaches of Abel Tasman National Park, the spectacular West Coast and a boat tour through the breathtaking Milford Sound. In Queenstown you can try rafting, jet boating or bungy, Wellington and Auckland prove that New Zealand can be a "big city" too!

Itinerary (subject to change)

Day 1: Departure from D / A / CH / BeNeLux

Departure from D/A/CH/BeNeLux - (not included, we will be happy to book a flight for you as a separate travel service.)

Day 2: Flight day due to time difference

Day 3: Arrival in Christchurch

After arrival at the airport and immigration formalities transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon first meeting of the group. Afterwards dinner together.

Day 4: From Christchurch to Lake Ohau, 350 km

After taking over your motorcycles, a ride over winding roads through the Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo - the famous crystal blue glacial lake with the famous "Church of the Good Shepherd". Continue to the idyllic Lake Ohau.

Day 5: From Lake Ohau to Dunedin, 350 km

Passing Lake Pukaki you will ride over Lindis Pass, visit the old gold mining town of St. Bathans and Alexandra before you reach the east coast again. On the way to Dunedin stop at the Moeraki Boulders.

Day 6: Free day in Dunedin

Today you have the opportunity to visit the famous Yellow-eyed Penguin & Albatross Colony, tour New Zealand's only castle, explore the tranquil Portobello Peninsula, climb the steepest street in the world (Baldwin Street) or stroll through the student city of Dunedin.

Day 7: From Dunedin to Te Anau, 380 km

Today's stage takes you through Southland, along the coast to Invercargill and via the Southern Scenic Highway to Te Anau - starting point to the fjords! On the way you can stop at the Burt Munro Museum.

Day 8: From Te Anau to Milford Sound and back, 200 km

Today is a 5-star stage. It begins with an impressive stretch into Milford Sound. Once at the water's edge, take a boat tour of the Sound before returning to Te Anau.

Day 9: From Te Anau to Queenstown, 190 km

The ride along the shores of Lake Wakatipu is very winding and entertaining! In the afternoon, the "adventure stronghold" Queenstown awaits you.

Day 10: Free day in Queenstown

Today can be very adventurous: Take a rafting or jet boat ride, a bungee jump or a mountain bike tour. Or choose a not-so-turbulent gondola ride up Coronet Peak or a nice motorbike ride to Paradise.

Day 11: From Queenstown to Fox Glacier, 350 km

First you ride via the Cardona Valley to Wanaka. Shortly after you reach the spectacular west coast of New Zealand's South Island via Haast Pass! Follow it into the glacier region - the deep rainforest to the right, the rough Tasman Sea to the left, together with wonderful curves, results in a riding pleasure in a class of its own!

Day 12: From Fox Glacier to Punakaiki, 250 km

Continue north along the coast of the Tasman Sea to Punakaiki.

Day 13: From Punakaiki to Abel Tasman National Park, 160 km

Visit Pancake Rocks and ride through Buller Gorge to Abel Tasman National Park.

Day 14: Free day in the Abel Tasman

The region offers endless sandy beaches, huge orchards & vineyards and great motorcycle trails - giving you plenty of options to make the most of your day, with or without your bike. Take a trip into the National Park (on foot or by kayak), to Takaka or Cape Foulwind, or enjoy the day on the beach.

Day 15: From Abel Tasman to Wellington, 180km plus ferry

Today, before you leave the South Island, you will enjoy a dream route, the "Queen Charlotte Drive" to Picton! There you take the ferry through the Marlborough Sounds and the Cook Strait to Wellington, capital of New Zealand.

Day 16: From Wellington to Waipawa (Farmstay), 250 km

Today's stage takes you to one of the main regions of New Zealand's farm economy. Here you will spend the night on a typical New Zealand farm! After arrival you can look over the farmers' shoulders!

Day 17: From Hawkes Bay to Napier, 100 km

Today's stage is quite short, giving you time to spend a good amount of time observing the goings-on on "your" farm before setting off for Napier. The city on the east coast is one of the few cities in the world that, after being completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1931, was subsequently rebuilt in the Art Deco style of the time.

Day 18: Napier to Gisborne, 250 km

You'll continue to follow the east coast northwards to Gisborne, the most easterly town in the world. When you wake up in the morning, you will be one of the first to greet the new day!

Day 19: From Gisborne to Whakatane, 350 km

Today is another 5-star stage! You will ride around the East Cape, an endless winding coastal road through a very remote region with ancient forest.This breathtaking landscape is characterized by the Maori culture.

Day 20: From Whakatane to Whitianga, 280 km

On the way to the Coromandel Peninsula, you can detour to Rotorua to visit the Te Puia geothermal area. Or follow the coast through the Bay of Plenty before enjoying the curves of the Coromandel Coast. Stop at Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove if necessary.

Day 21: From Whitianga to Orewa, 350km

The route along the west coast of Coromandel is like a waltz!

Day 22: From Orewa to Paihia, 350 km

Today you take the route over the west coast, through the Kauri forest and past the huge sand dunes in Opononi to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.

Day 23: Free day in Paihia

The idyllic Bay of Islands is perfect for a day off. In Waitangi you have time to visit the Maori Open Air Museum. It is the place where the Treaties of Waitangi (the first New Zealand constitution) were signed with the Maoris in February 1840. Numerous boat tours, such as whale watching or swimming with dolphins are available.

Day 24: From Paihia to Auckland, 280 km

A final scenic leg along the Old Russell Road, south along the east coast to Auckland. Return of motorcycles.

Day 25: Departure from Auckland to D / A / CH

Return flight to D/A/CH/BeNeLux (not included) Depending on when your flight leaves Auckland, you still have time today to explore the metropolis of Auckland. Take a city tour, visit one of the numerous museums in the various districts or the "America's Cup Village".
