| Our trip is not a riding course, but a challenging and varied motorcycle tour. If you are already experienced in motorcycling, you will get your money's worth on this tour. If you are unsure whether your riding skills are sufficient, please contact us. As a result of our years of experience, we can advise you well in this regard. Furthermore, a good physical and health condition should go without saying for the participation in the trip. We leave between 160 and 390 km behind us on our daily rides. Riding the motorcycle in this unique landscape is in the foreground, team spirit and a certain adaptation to the group will be necessary to fully enjoy the tour. With the description of the individual travel days you can already prepare yourself quite well for the trip and get to know the routes carefully planned by us. |

Description
The country in which we are guests has many special features to offer us: Croatia is not a large country, yet it is at the same time the Mediterranean and Central European, mountainous and flat, maritime and continental. In a relatively small area, we find landscapes that would otherwise have to be sought in far-flung regions of Europe and the world: thus, in Croatia, we find a forested, indented coastline with a multitude of islands, well-preserved old Mediterranean towns with narrow streets and stone houses, but also green pastureland with dry stone walls along the coast. The mountainous regions are adorned with extensive woodlands, romantic lakes, and picturesque villages like those in the Alps, but also rugged, bare limestone cliffs with deep gorges. The hill country is crowned by vineyards, medieval castles, and fortresses. And we'll see some of it...!

Itinerary:
Day 1 - Saturday: Arrival day
Independent journey to the southernmost province of Austria, Carinthia. The meeting point for all participants and the first hotel night is on Saturday in the area of Villach/Faaker See in Carinthia. If you want to come by car and a motorcycle trailer to the start of the tour, you can park your car at the hotel during the tour. At the first dinner together you will get to know your tour guide and all the other participants. Overnight stay in the Villach/Faaker See area, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 2 - Sunday: Villach - Slovenia - Opatija, 240 km
Our guided Croatia tour begins and we cross southern Carinthia and Slovenia on selected, beautiful country roads until we arrive in Opatija, Croatia. Already during the Danube monarchy, the "Curort Abbazia" belonged to the fashionable seaside resorts at the Adriatic Sea and still inspires today because of its beautiful parks and houses in Art Nouveau style. We move into our hotel near the center of Opatija, which will be our base for the next few days. Around the center, we will surely find a nice bar for a cozy good night drink. Overnight stay in Opatija, dinner, breakfast.

Day 3 - Monday: Plitvice Lakes and Croatian coastal road, 390 km
Early start today as there is a lot to see: Croatia shows us some of its most beautiful sides! We leave the pleasant Opatija and ride the Croatian coastal road "Jadranska Magistrala" past Rijeka towards the south. Our destination is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: The Plitvice Lakes National Park. After visiting the park and following in the footsteps of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand (large parts of Karl May's "The Treasure in the Silver Lake" and of course "Winnetou I - III" being filmed here), we will return either by mountain road or by highway, depending on how we feel after the sightseeing and how long we have stayed. Excursion dependent on weather, entrance fees not included. Overnight stay in Opatija, dinner, breakfast.

Day 4 - Tuesday: Rest day
Day 4 of our Croatia tour is all about relaxation. For example, a stroll along the 12-kilometer-long coastal promenade Lungomare or through the enchanting parks of Opatija. The beautiful architecture, scents from lush gardens and the taste of many delicacies of the region invite you to enjoy. And who knows, maybe one or the other will discover the legendary virgin with the seagull.

Day 5 - Wednesday: Island hopping Cres - Lošinj - Cres - Krk, 200 km
Have you ever done island hopping by motorbike? Today we will visit 3 islands and take the car ferry 2 times! We will take a car ferry from Istria, the big peninsula in the west of Croatia, to the longest island of the Kvarner Bay, Cres (1). Then we stop in a small fishing village on the island of Lošinj (2). Back on Cres, we visit a small, hidden village before departing by car ferry towards Krk (3). After a coffee break in the picturesque harbor of Krk, we cross the large arched bridge - originally named in honor of Yugoslav President Tito - and leave the island. Back on the mainland, we roll past Rijeka back to Opatija. Overnight stay in Opatija, dinner, breakfast.

Day 6 - Thursday: Istrian hinterland and culinary delights, 160 km
We saved one of the biggest highlights for the last day: If you like medieval towns, you'll get your money's worth today! We move away from the coast again and ride to the center of the Istrian hinterland, to the capital of Istria County, Pazin. After a stop with a view of the Mitterburg Castle, first mentioned in the 10th century, our route takes us further into the truffle stronghold of Istria. The medieval old town center is situated on the top of a hill and houses one of the most famous truffle restaurants in Istria. If you like, you can indulge in truffles here for lunch. The highlight (in the truest sense of the word) is crossing the Ucka Mountains, to which Opatija owes its evening freshness due to the fall winds from the lushly forested slopes. Through narrow serpentines we return to the Opatija Riviera. Last night together in Opatija, dinner, breakfast.

Day 7 - Friday: Opatija - Slovenia - Villach/Faaker See, 240 km - 360 km
Unfortunately, our extraordinary journey is almost over. We leave Opatija and make our way back to Carinthia. We ride comfortably over beautiful motorcycle roads through Slovenia to Carinthia, until we reach the Villach/Faaker See area in the early evening. During our last dinner together we can review the "experienced" adventures. Overnight stay, dinner, breakfast.

Day 8 - Saturday: Farewell and journey home
Today it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. With a lot of nice memories in your luggage, you will make your way home on your own. End of the tour.
