14 Days of Enduro, Gravel and Offroad in Namibia

Namibia is one of Africa's great enduro destinations, and that is exactly what this 14-day gravel and offroad tour is built around. From Windhoek you ride lonely gravel roads to Omaruru, on into Etosha National Park, through Damaraland with its Twyfelfontein rock engravings and down to the Atlantic coast at Swakopmund. The route then runs through Namib-Naukluft Park to Sossusvlei and back to Windhoek via the Kalahari. A support vehicle carries your luggage, and a spare motorcycle travels with the group, so you can focus entirely on riding.

Highlights

Start in Windhoek

Pick up your enduro in Namibia's capital, run last errands amid the city's bustle and settle into the offroad adventure ahead, before heading out into the bush the next morning for the first gravel leg.

Artists' town Omaruru

Ride gravel roads through mountain and farmland to the centre of Namibian artists, where the Franke Tower still recalls German colonial rule and the 1904 Herero uprising, near the Omaruru River.

Etosha National Park

A full-day game drive by open safari vehicle through one of Africa's best reserves, with springbok, zebra and giraffe, and with some luck elephant, lion, cheetah and rhino to spot along the way.

Twyfelfontein engravings

Visit the Twyfelfontein UNESCO World Heritage Site in Damaraland: rock engravings cut into the stone over 2,000 years ago, standing in territory that desert-adapted elephants also roam.

Nights by the fire

Camp in the Namib Desert, sit by the fire and take in the clear view of the Southern Cross overhead, with comfortable lodges also on offer along the route for those who prefer them.

Who leads this tour

Tour languages German

The tour is led by a registered local guide from Namibia Motorcycle Tour who knows the gravel and offroad legs from Windhoek to the Kalahari. A support vehicle with a spare motorcycle travels along, so a technical issue on the road does not end the tour.
