Julian Alps: Kranjska Gora & Vrsic, 7 Days

It starts at the Seligweiler service area near Ulm East. Along federal and country roads the first stage leads through Swabia into Upper Bavaria, passing Bad Wörishofen, Starnberg and Bad Tölz, to the first hotel in Bad Aibling.

The second stage crosses the Salzburg region and Carinthia, over Kitzbühel, the Grossglockner and the Wurzenpass into Slovenia. The destination is the base hotel in Kranjska Gora, which becomes home for the next four nights.

From today the group spends three days in the country around Triglav National Park. The counter-clockwise circuit begins at the Vrsic Pass and is a dream for any rider. In the afternoon a detour to Lake Bohinj follows, before the return to the hotel.

The second day in the area runs once more around the national park, this time clockwise via Kranj and Tolmin, with a detour to Predmeja and back into the Soča Valley. In the afternoon the pass carries the group back to Kranjska Gora.

One last time up to the Vrsic, then over the Predil Pass into Italy. The stage leads through the Carnic Alps to the Plöcken Pass and the Nassfeld Pass, and via Tarvisio back to the hotel in Kranjska Gora.

The return begins via the Gail Valley, the Gailberg Saddle and the Iselsberg Pass to the Grossglockner, with an optional stop at the Edelweißspitze at 2,572 metres. Before Zell am See the way heads toward the Krimml Waterfalls and the Zillertal to the last shared hotel.

After breakfast the last stage is due: at Wendling the group leaves the motorway and travels via federal and country roads through Upper Bavaria and Swabia back to Ulm East Seligweiler, where the week comes to a close.
