Cuba's East is one of the most diverse regions in terms of scenery and climate. At the same time, its touristic development is relatively low.

Nine-day Enduro Tour through Eastern Cuba
Day 1: Ankunft
We meet in the evening at our accommodation in Holguín; a welcome cocktail and your tour guide will be waiting for you. Depending on your arrival time, we will take a short stroll through the nightlife of Holguín.
Day 2 (210 km): Über Bayamo to the Sierra Maestra
After breakfast we will get familiar with the motorcycles and ride the first stage, which starts with a well paved road with few bends and ends in Bayamo, gradually leading us further and further into the Sierra Maestra mountain range. Finally, after a scenic mountainous stretch, we reach "Villa Santo Domingo", where we spend the night. Alternative: Hotel Royalton or Sierra Maestra in Bayamo. For participants who have chosen the variant with Casas Particulares, there are rooms just a few steps away from the "Villa Santo Domingo".
Day 3 (190 km): Der Way across the Cordillera
After breakfast we ride back a part of the way. In Bartolomé Maso we ride in southwestern direction towards Yara and Manzanillo. Via Campechuela and Medialuna we finally get back to the western foothills of the Sierra Maestra. From Sevilla Arriba, we cross the mountain range that here still appears to be relatively flat. In less than an hour we reach Punta Piedra, east of Pilón, where we take a break.
Here in the small complex or a few kilometres further on in Marea del Portillo (in the hotel Marea del Portillo or Farallón del Caribe) we spend the night. For those participants who have booked the private accommodation option, simple rooms are reserved nearby. Depending on the time of arrival we will enjoy a short swim in the sea.
Day 4 (180 km): Einsame Road to Santiago de Cuba
Today one of the most beautiful routes in Cuba awaits us. A narrow road leads us along the Caribbean in a few hours to Santiago de Cuba. The sea is always within reach, to our left the Sierra Maestra mountain range rises. We have to reckon again and again with road damage caused by frequent flooding. Often boulders block the way. With our Enduros this is no problem. Rocky coastal sections alternate with countless small beaches that invite you to stay.
The destination of our stage today is Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in Cuba. Depending on the time of day we will visit the city in the afternoon or at least some sights. After checking into our accommodation we will have dinner. With a drink we can enjoy the view from the roof terrace of the Hotel Casagranda (or similar) over the bay of Santiago de Cuba or we simply stroll through the evening city (for participants with private accommodation we have well-kept, centrally located rooms available).
Day 5 (60 km): Ein Day in Santiago de Cuba
Breakfast at the hotel. With the motorcycle we undertake a round trip through the city. At the fortress "El Morro" we have lunch. We ride back to the accommodation. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 6 (210 km): Ein Alpine pass in the tropics
Breakfast at the hotel. We leave Santiago in a north-easterly direction. Due to the US naval base in the bay of Guantánamo no other route is possible. Today one of the most spectacular roads of the country awaits us: The Farola. This pass route reminds us of European alpine passes and was built in the mid 60s. It leads us from the dry south to the tropically humid north side of the Sierra Maestra, namely to Baracoa, a historically interesting small town with a special flair. In the Hotel El Castillo or a private pension we stay two nights. Here is a day's time to make excursions, for example to the Río Toa or to the outskirts of the Humboldt National Park.
Day 7 (140 km): Ausflug to Yumurí
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we make an excursion to Yumurí, only a few kilometers from the extreme eastern tip of Cuba, the "Punta de Maisí". According to tradition during the Spanish colony, the few surviving indigenous people of Cuba are said to have retreated here. In fact, the faces of many inhabitants of the region seem to bear indigenous features. Back in Baracoa we finish the evening with a common meal.
Day 8 (180 km): Auf to Africa
Breakfast. Along the coast road we continue our way. After 40 kilometers on a road that can be called a scree road without exaggeration, we take a short refreshment break in Playa Maguana, where there is a simple but nice hotel. Past the Humboldt National Park we pass through Moa, the "Ugly Duckling" of the East. Gigantic areas torn up by open-cast nickel mining give the landscape an apocalyptic appearance. Photography is strictly prohibited here and will be punished immediately. We quickly continue to Cayo Saetía. Here we find the Villa Cayo Saetía, an exotic bungalow complex in the middle of a zoo with African wild animals. Either we stay overnight here or in Pinares de Mayarí, a beautifully situated complex of log cabins, which can be reached via a very bad access road. We have reserved private rooms nearby for privately accommodated participants.
Day 9: Ende of the journey or subsequent stay
The next morning we ride via Banes and the Playa Guardalavaca back to Holguín. Here we part from the motorcycles and end the tour with a common meal. If you are not yet back home, we will also be happy to help you book your follow-up stay, for example a bathing extension in Guardalavaca or Varadero.
