It is the most famous route in France and therefore probably also the most winding and spectacular route through the Alps to the Mediterranean.

The meeting point for our tour is Feldkirch in Austria. The evening together gives us the opportunity to get to know the other participants and our tour guide will make you curious about the upcoming tours.
Today's tour takes us from Feldkirch through Liechtenstein, past Lake Zurich in Switzerland to the French border. The northern entry point into the Route des Grandes Alpes is now directly in front of us.
From today on, the "robbing of passports" starts. Over smaller passes, called "Cols" in French and challenging secondary routes we reach the Val-d'Isère.
We make one of the first stops in Bonnval sur Arc, it is said to be the most beautiful place on the route of the Grandes Alpes. Today's royal stage leads us over the highest passes of the Alps. We can expect fantastic views from the Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and the Col de l'Iseran.
West of the French/Italian border the tour leads us partly on very narrow mountain roads through several gorges to the Côte d'Azur. In Menton we reach the southern end of the Route des Grandes Alpes. With a wonderful and unique panorama the little town on the Mediterranean Sea welcomes us. Our hotel lures with Mediterranean flair directly at the lively beach boulevard.
The Mediterranean is calling! Today we have a day off.
North of Menton we find again the entrance to the Route des Grandes Alpes and ride on smallest mountain roads through the National Park Mercantour. The small villages fascinate with their special flair and impress all our senses. On the last third of our daily stage another highlight is waiting. We pass the Col de la Bonette with its 2802 m altitude.
Today we make a small detour to the neighbouring country Italy. Through the Parco Naturale del Gran Bosco di Salbertrand you reach Susa. Here we cross again the border to France, pass the Lac du Mont Cenis and swing along the small river Le Arc into the Val-d'Isère.
On the next kilometres you have to say goodbye to the "Route des Grandes Alpes". We leave the famous French way in northeast direction. The next highlight is not long in coming, we ride around the Mont Blanc at Charmonix on the north side. Afterwards we ride through the nature park Aiguilles-Rouges and in the late afternoon we reach the valley basin near Martigny. After a winding descent into the small town we use the next kilometres as a "cool down phase" until we reach our tour hotel in Sion in Valais.
The last day of the tour is the perfect end to this special trip. The wonderful Furka Pass awaits us, we reach with our motorcycles another 2424 meters of altitude and experience a wonderful panorama. We will take a lot of time for this highlight. If you like, you can visit the source of the Rhone, which rises here in the glacier. In Andermatt we then take a break to relax, before we ride the last kilometres to the crossing of the Principality of Liechtenstein. In the evening we reach our starting hotel for this tour in Feldkirch.
Nine exciting riding days lie behind us and thus 2150 riding kilometres with infinitely many experiences and impressions. We have ridden on the highest, passable passes of the Alps, partly on narrow and steep side roads. We have been rewarded with unique, beautiful panoramas and feelings that have opened our hearts to an intensity that is unfortunately rarely experienced. It is not a farewell forever, the next adventure is already waiting for us!
