The touristical high alpine road starts in Thonon-les-Bains, at the south shore of the Lake Geneva and leads us to Menton at the Côte d'Azur. In between there are almost 700 motorcycle kilometres, which will inspire us daily with 18 alpine passes and 10,000 curves and bends. Included in the program is a motorbike tour to the Verdon gorge, one of the largest canyons on the continent, which will delight you with its breathtaking rock massif and gorges up to 700 m deep.

Our return journey is no less spectacular, passing the Lac de Sainte-Croix and the fortified town of Briancon and Alpine passes with resounding names such as Col du Galibier and Great St. Bernard (to name but a few) round off this unique guided motorcycle tour. An accompanying vehicle transports our luggage and provides additional comfort on this motorcycle tour.

In summary, this is a motorcycle adventure in a class of its own, but only experienced motorcyclists should get involved.

This guided motorcycle tour is planned in such a way that the riding fun and the general conditions, such as road condition, coherence of the itinerary have absolute priority. This may mean that this guided motorcycle tour may deviate slightly from the original route.

Day 1: Arrival at our starting hotel near Rheinfelden (Baden)

Individual arrival to our hotel until 18.00 o'clock.

During dinner we get to know each other and get in the mood for the king's tour through the Alps in the following tour briefing.

If you arrive by car, free parking is available at the hotel for the duration of the motorcycle tour.

Day 2: Near Rheinfelden - Beaufort (France)

Our first day's stage takes us through Switzerland, for this section we use the motorway to the southwest of the country. Here we immerse ourselves in our adventure, with Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif on the horizon at our feet as the starting point. The Lac Léman, as it is called by the French, the second largest lake in Central Europe, accompanies us with its unique panorama to the national border, where in the French Thonon-les Bains our motorcycle tour of the felt 10.000 curves, the Route des Grandes Alpes begins. Over the Col des Gets - Col de la Colombière - Col de Aravis and others, unique motorcycle roads lead us in constant change with breathtaking views further south, to our daily destination Beaufort.

Day 3: Beaufort - Guillestre

Today we will go to Col de l'Iséran and Col du Mont Cenis at 2.270 m in south-eastern direction in the region of Piedmont, to get French asphalt under the wheels again via Col de Montgenèvre. The Col d'Izoard offers us panoramic views at a remarkable 2,360 m altitude, before our motorbike tour today ends with a delicious dinner in Guillestre.

Day 4: Guillestre - Menton

Curves and hairpin bends in constant change lie before our motorcycle tour today. "Warm Up" at the Col de Vars, before we take the Col de la Bonette, the highest pass in the Alps with its 2,715 m. The fantastic panoramic view in the French Alps is a highlight of this motorcycle tour and will remain in our memories for a long time. The following alpine passes up to the Col de Turini do not reduce the fun of riding before we arrive in Menton, located at the Côte d'Azur, the destination of the Route des Grandes Alpes, in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Menton - Bauduen (Lac de Sainte-Croix)

After breakfast, we enjoy the views along the French Mediterranean coast to arrive at Lac de Sainte-Croix via smaller passes and mountain roads. At dinner with a view of the lake we let the eventful day end with a glass of wine.

Day 6: Day trip to the Grand Canyon du Verdon

The Grand Canyon du Verdon offers one of the most spectacular landscapes in Provence. In the limestone plateaus of Haute Provence, the river Verdon has "carved" a gorge about 50 km long, which in some places reaches a depth of about 700 m. On this day tour we "experience" this natural jewel that will cast a spell over us.

Day 7 : Bauduen - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne

Heading north - we leave the Provence Alpes region and our roadbook takes us on biker roads via Digne-les-Bains to Briancon. In the further course, the Col du Lautaret awaits us and as a highlight, the Col du Galibier, built in 1876, which rewards us with its 2.642 meters of altitude difference with a fantastic view. The Col du Télégraphe leads us to our daily destination in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

Day 8: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne - Aigle

Today starts with the Col de la Madeleine and leads us to Switzerland, which offers us riding highlights with the small and big St. Bernhard, before we finish today's motorcycle tour in Aigle.

Day 9: Aigle - near Rheinfelden

The last stage of our eventful motorcycle tour is on the agenda today. In harmony with the Swiss landscape, we enjoy the curved waltzes whose rhythm is dictated by the roads. In the further course the motorway brings us to our starting hotel of the motorcycle tour.
