Minimum number of participants: 6 persons. Maximum 8 motorcycles per group
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to 3 weeks before the start of the trip.
From Vienna about 2,400 km. In Romania approx. 1,350 km, of which 52 % is gravel and 48 % asphalt.
Tour Characteristics: The tour is suitable for all those riders who have already gained some experience on narrow, winding mountain roads as well as gravel roads and dirt tracks and who have their touring enduro well under control. Travel enduros of all sizes are welcome on this tour. The use of at least road and off-road suitable all-round tyres is a prerequisite, especially in wet conditions clearly off-road oriented tyres (TKC 80, K 60 Scout) are of enormous advantage. This trip is not suitable for street motorcycles and pure asphalt tires! It would be possible to take a passenger with you on the motorcycle, but it is not recommended.
Recommended tyres: Haidenau Scout K6, Continental TKC 80 or similar
Language: This offer is usually suitable for English and/or German speaking participants. We will gladly provide binding information upon request.

We invite you to travel this country with us off the main roads. Gravel roads, forest tracks and endless curves await you. Romania consists of equal parts of plain, highlands and mountains - that guarantees pure variety! Medieval fortified churches, picturesque villages from past centuries, breathtaking landscapes, hospitable people and delicious food. That and much more awaits you on this tour! Especially convenient: From Oradea, a service vehicle transports luggage from hotel to hotel.

Travel program:

Day 1: Vienna - Oradea

520 km

Journey to Romania. From the agreed meeting point you will start the journey to Romania together. Mainly on the motorway, we ride through the Hungarian Pusta, past Budapest to our Romanian destination Oradea. As an alternative to travelling on two wheels, you can also transport your motorcycle to Romania by car and trailer. We spend the first and last night in the same hotel. Car and trailer can wait for you here on secured parking lots. If you wish, you can also relax in the hotel's own thermal bath. Overnight stay in Oradea.

Day 2: Oradea/Grosswardein - Cluj-Napoca area

285 km

In the morning, the tour takes you along unique roads, embedded in the wonderful landscape of the Romanian plain, towards the Western Carpathians, which already in the afternoon will make the adventurous heart of every motorcyclist beat faster. Uphill and downhill through scattered villages, along steeply sloping gorges, over field paths and past impressive caves, the varied path leads. We spend the night in a rustic mountain hut (each room is equipped with WC and shower) with delicious local specialities in the Cluj area.

Day 3: Cluj-Napoca/Clausenburg - Sighisoara/Schässburg

180 km

The Transylvanian Heath actually consists of numerous hills, most of which are crossed on gravel roads. Originally these hills were all wooded, today they serve as pasture land for shepherds and of course as an enduro paradise for all those who love freedom on two wheels. In the afternoon we reach Sighisoara, in the evening there is still time for a leisurely walk through one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe. Overnight stay in a well selected hotel with own spa area.

Day 4: Sighisoara/Schässburg - Viscri - Crit

125 km

Over the "Kockel Hill Country" we cross the woods and former vineyards south of Sighisoara. Later we follow the river Olt (in German Alt), which used to be the border between the Transylvanian Saxons and the Szekler. Through many picturesque small villages we reach the village of Viscri, which with its impressive church hill is one of the most beautiful villages in the country. It is not far to the small village Crit, where we will spend the night today. Here we also enjoy our dinner with local Romanian specialities.

Day 5: Crit - Sibiu

255 km

We continue along the river Olt in the direction of the Southern Carpathians into the realm of the Fogaras Mountains. We will experience this massive area from all sides in the next few days. The Transfagarasan elevated road will be one of the highlights, in both senses of the word, with a length of about 150 km and about 2,000 meters. The incredible curves easily outweigh the lack of gravel on this stage. After having mastered the Transfagarasan, we will continue along the Olt in the foothills of the Southern Carpathians to Sibiu/Hermannstadt, the venue of the Red Bull Romaniacs Enduro races and European Capital of Culture 2007. Overnight stay in Sibiu/Hermannstadt.

60 % tarred road - 40 % non-tarred road

Day 6: Sibiu/Hermannstadt - Voineasa

90 km

Through the Cindrel Mountains and almost endless forests we make our way south. The fun of it is preprogrammed. At the idyllic lake Jidoaia we stop for a pleasant break before we reach Voineasa in the Lotrului valley in the afternoon.

Day 7: Voineasa - Sebes

165 km

On the Strategica, a military gravel road through the Carpathians, we reach the Transalpina, which was also originally built as a military road and is the highest mountain road in Romania, at over 2,100 metres above sea level. We climb the top of the Transalpina pass before heading north down the valley again. The further route then leads us to Sebes, the next overnight stay of the journey.

Day 8: Sebes - Oradea

260 km

For the last time we cross the Western Carpathians until the hilly, winding road leads us back to Oradea, where we spend our last evening together again in a speciality restaurant.

Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye to your newly won Romanian friends. With many beautiful memories in your luggage, you make your way home - either by motorcycle, or again by car and trailer. Up to the Romanian-Hungarian border you will be accompanied by your guide. The rest of the route is covered either independently or with other travellers in a group.
