Clues:
Getting there: Please note that this trip is offered including ferry trip to Lübeck-Travemünde and motorcycle transport on the ferry. The journey to Danzig is on your own.
Change of port in Helsinki: For the ferry passage from Germany to Estonia (or vice versa) a change of the ferry or the ferry port in Helsinki is necessary. The ferries to and from Germany call at the Helsinki-Vuosaari outer harbour, while the ferries to and from Tallinn depart from the ports located near the city centre. This distance of about 16 km is covered by car, motorbike, bicycle or public transport. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents.
Catering on the ferries: On the ferries, meals are offered in the on-board restaurants - payable on the spot. On some ferry routes we offer pre-bookable meal packages. You will then find these under the optional services in the price section of the trip and can only be booked directly in connection with the trip, a subsequent booking is not possible.
Accessibility: Please note that the trip is not or only partially suitable for people with physical disabilities.
Parking spaces: For this trip we usually use hotels that have parking spaces. We will reserve a pitch for you when you book (where possible, no claim). Parking fees may apply, which must be paid on site. The amount of parking fees can vary greatly depending on the location and hotel.
Ferry fees Curonian Spit: The ferry fees for the Curonian Spit are not included in the travel price and are to be paid on site. The car ferry to the Curonian Spit leaves south of Klaipeda city centre (New Ferry Terminal) and runs about every 20 to 30 minutes. The ferry for pedestrians and cyclists departs near Klaipeda city centre (Old Ferry Terminal). The crossing is paid on the spot in cash or by credit card. Please note that the ticket is valid for the outward and return journey. For more information on times and costs, please visit www.keltas.lt/en/home/.
National park fees Curonian Spit: Access to the northern spit and thus to the Lithuanian national park is only possible for a fee (payable on site). When arriving from Klaipeda, there is an entrance fee at a checkpoint near Alksnyne. Cyclists are exempt from the tax. You can find more information on nature conservation fees at http://neringa.eparkingas.lt/tickets/pricelist.html. If you travel to the Russian side of the Spit and thus to the Kurschskaja Kossa National Park, fees are also payable. These can only be paid in cash (rubles, Euros are not accepted) or by credit card. Please note that there is no exchange office on the spit, so we recommend taking a few rubles in cash.

- varied tour with your own motorbike

- Danzig and the Marienburg

- a whole day for Masuria

- Dune landscapes on the Curonian Spit

- lonely streets at Lake Peipus and in Lahemaa

- Short visit to Tallinn and Riga

This motorcycle tour creates a link between the province and some of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe - the old Hanseatic cities of Gdansk, Riga, Kaunas, Tartu and Tallinn attract visitors with their wide range of cultural activities, lively atmosphere and wonderful sights. And at the same time you can enjoy the solitude of nature on your journey: The lakes and forests of Masuria, the course of the Memel river, the Curonian Spit, Kurzeme (Kurland), Estonian Switzerland and Lake Peipus offer motorcycle areas with fascinating landscape impressions to the right and left of the road.

Tour character:

They cover about 1,800 km through the most beautiful landscapes of Poland and the Baltic States. Since we avoid motorways and large main roads, the route runs mostly on secondary roads and thus partly on small and narrow roads. The surface is generally good, here and there some care may be necessary. We make sure that the routes are asphalted, but on very short stretches there can be cobblestone or gravel.

Tour itinerary:

1st day: Arrival

Individual arrival to Gdansk (Gdansk). The former Hanseatic city has a wonderfully restored old town. The most famous sights are the old crane gate, the town hall, the mighty Marienkirche and the Lange Markt with the Neptune Fountain. A visit to the Solidarnosc centre is interesting. There are also nice cafés and restaurants on the banks of the Motlau river. Overnight stay in Danzig.

2nd day: Gdansk - Marienburg - Masuria (approx. 290 km)

You will first ride to Marienburg (Malbork). Those who wish can take time to visit the huge castle of the Order, which was the seat of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order in the 14th and 15th centuries. On your onward journey to Masuria you will get a first impression of the lake-rich landscape and the Masurian villages. Overnight stay in/at Lötzen.

3rd day: Masuria

Round trip through Masuria, the "land of a thousand lakes". You will enjoy the ride through the Masurian landscape, the tour is characterized by beautiful avenues. Small towns and cities invite you to stop off. In Lötzen (Gizycko), for example, there is the Boyen fortress and the swing bridge, which is rare in Europe. Svieta Lipka is a famous pilgrimage site with a baroque Jesuit church. Rastenburg (Ketrzyn) or the Dönhoffstädt castle could also be on your programme. Overnight stay in/at Lötzen.

4th day: Masuria - Kaunas (about 210 and 240 km)

It goes through the east of Poland and southern Lithuania. This area attracts with rural charm, gently rolling meadows and fields and beautiful avenues. Here and there a small village, a stork's nest. You will reach Kaunas. Lithuania's second largest city is considered the cultural centre of the country. Worth seeing is the old town at the confluence of the rivers Memel and Neris with the castle ruins from the 13th century. Overnight stay in Kaunas.

5th day: Kaunas - Klaipeda - Nida (about 290 and 310 km respectively)

On the route there are small towns that are not on the big tourist maps. Castles and castle hills along the Memel River mark the old line of defence of the Lithuanians against the Teutonic Knights. If you want, you can stop by and have a look at the neat old town of Klaipeda (Memel). Then you cross over to the Curonian Spit by ferry and reach Nida (Nida) through light forests, over gently undulating dune tops and again and again with a view of the lagoon. The Thomas Mann House on the mother-in-law's mountain - the view of the lagoon is legendary - and the old cemetery around the small church are worth seeing. Cafés and restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat. Maybe you will take a walk to the Parnid Dune at sunset. Overnight stay in Nida.

6th day: Nida - Palanga - Kuldiga - Riga (approx. 420 km)

You return to Riga via the spit road, partly along the coast and through the tranquil Kurzeme (Kurland). A contrasting programme, coming straight from the spit! Riga is the largest city in the Baltic States: lively, historical and at the same time modern and pleasant. Overnight stay in Riga.

7th day: Riga - Gauja National Park - Tartu (about 260 km)

You will ride to the Gauja National Park, whose landscape is dominated by the Gauja meandering through the surrounding rock. The river course is framed by sandstone cliffs, sandbanks, grottos and caves. The castle of Turaida (Treyden) near Sigulda or Cesis (Wenden) with the massive castle of the order are ideal for breaks. Your day's destination is Tartu: The Cathedral Hill with the ruins of the cathedral church, the university, the Angel Bridge and the Devil's Bridge, the observatory and the town hall can be explored on an evening tour. Overnight stay in Tartu.

8th day: Tartu - Lake Peipus - Lahemaa National Park - Tallinn (about 330 km)

We go to Lake Peipus - a wonderful area for motorcycles. The extensive lake forms the border to Russia. From there we go to the Lahemaa National Park. Wonderful routes! If you wish a shorter stage, you can ride across the Estonian province to the Estonian capital Tallinn (then about 200 km). After your arrival you can take a walk around the medieval old town. The townscape is characterised by winding cobblestone alleys and pointed gabled merchant's houses. Overnight stay in Tallinn.

9th day: Departure

Ferry crossing to Helsinki, change of ferry port and embarkation, in the afternoon departure towards Germany (approx. 15.30 (Sundays) or 17.00 (Mondays to Saturdays)). Overnight stay on board.

10th day: Arrival in Lübeck-Travemünde

After a day at sea you will reach the port of Lübeck-Travemünde in the evening (approx. 21.30 hrs), where your journey ends.
