The roads are partly very well developed, but sometimes only jeeppist roads with scree and sand. Often the roads have potholes, now and then smaller streams have to be crossed. Very good motorcycle riding skills are a prerequisite for this tour. From time to time, very long distances of up to 8-10 hours are covered, depending on the road situation.
The region:
We are located in the middle of the Himalayas in the state of Himachal Pradesh and in Ladakh. While the green Kullu Valley, from where our tour starts, is relatively densely populated by predominantly Hindus, it becomes drier, higher and lonelier towards Lahaul and Ladakh. The people in the high mountain desert are predominantly Buddhist and there are countless ancient monasteries that invite you to visit them. While in the southern part of Himachal, especially during the monsoon season, there can be heavy rainfall, precipitation in Lahaul and Ladakh is very rare. Temperatures range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius during the day, and at night it can get quite cold, even below freezing point.
During the tour we are constantly in the mountains at an altitude between 2000 and 6000 meters. Even though we work with trained guides and take every precaution on our tours to prevent emergencies, dangers in the mountains can never be ruled out. Again and again, weather changes, landslides (especially during the monsoon season) or accidents can occur and you should always be aware of this. We reserve the right, due to climatic conditions or for organizational reasons, to change the tours on site in a way that is safest for all participants.
During the tour we stay in simple, clean, typical accommodation in the 2 to 3 star range. The meals are adapted to the local cuisine and are mostly vegetarian.
Language: This offer is usually suitable for English and/or German speaking participants. We will gladly provide binding information upon request.
Mobility: The offer is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Please contact us for more information.

We will visit Buddhist monasteries and visit small traditional villages. The road conditions are constantly changing from new, wide and well-maintained roads to stony and sandy.
