Description

On this tour, you will see the most beautiful spots of Armenia and Georgia on a motorbike. Starting from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, this tour will lead you through the Khulo mountain pass to the shore of the Black Sea and then onwards to one of the oldest cities in Georgia, Mtskheta. Riding along more serpentine roads, we reach Stepanakert, the capital of Karabakh, and from there on move on over the Devil's Bridge right to Kapan. From there, we'll ride back to Yerevan where our journey started.

Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan

After your arrival at Zvartnots International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel. The check-in for the overnight stay at the hotel is possible from 2 pm. Don't worry if your flight lands at an unconventional time, you will still be picked up and the check-in will also be possible.

Day 2: Yerevan - Garni - Ghegard - Byurakan

After breakfast at the hotel you will be picked up and taken to the garage where the motorcycles will be waiting for you. When all the formalities are done we will ride to the Geghard Monastery which was built in the 12th and 13th century. From there we will ride to the Pagan temple Garni from the 1st century. Now we will ride our motorcycles back to Yerevan and then to the slopes of Mount Aragats (4090 m above sea level). We will make a stop at Kari Lake (over 3000 m) and then have dinner together in Byurakan village, where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Byurakan - Tegher - Sagmosavank- Gyumri

Today, our first ride leads us to the Tegher Monastery and we visit the "Stone Alphabet". Then we continue to Saghmosavank Monastery, which is located next to the gorge of Qasagh River and is also called the Armenian Grand Canyon. Then we continue to Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, also known as the city of crafts. In Gyumri we will spend the night and finish the day.

Day 4: Gyumri - border crossing at Bavra/Vardzia - Goderdzi

The fourth day of our motorcycle tour will take us to Georgia, which we will enter via the north-western border point Bavra/Vardzia. After crossing the border, we will pass through the town of Akhalkalaki and enter the gorge, which will lead us to the legendary cave monastery of Vardzia. From there we continue to the Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe and then along the picturesque Khulo Pass, over tarmac and gravel roads to the village of Goderdzi. Here we will spend the first night in Georgia after a delicious dinner.

Day 5: Goderdzi - Batumi

After a hearty breakfast we set off for the Black Sea. Shortly before noon we will arrive in the coastal town of Batumi and have the whole afternoon at leisure to enjoy the day by the sea.

Day 6: Batumi - Borjomi

After breakfast we start at the Black Sea and with 290 km, we have a bit more road to travel along today in the direction of central Georgia. After riding along many mountain passes and beautiful roads we reach the popular resort Borjomi and also visit the resort Bakuriani. We will spend the night in Borjomi.

Day 7: Borjomi - Mtskheta - Tbilisi

We start the day with a long ride to one of the oldest cities in Georgia, Mtskheta, known as a World Heritage Site for its cultural monuments. Then we continue to Tbilisi on our motorbikes. The afternoon will be dedicated to exploring the Georgian capital Tbilisi, where we will also spend the night.

Day 8: Tbilisi - Kazbeghi - border crossing at Sadakhlo/Bagratashen - Hagpat

Today we will start our ride very early in the morning to ride to Kazbegi Mountain, where the most popular sight in Georgia is located - the Gergeti Trinity Church. Then we will return to Armenia via Tbilisi, cross the border at Sadakhlo/Bagratashen and reach the Lori region through a very beautiful gorge. We will stop at the Haghpat monastery complex from the 10th century and then spend the night in the nearby village of Hagpat.

Day 9: Hagpat - Yenokavan

Today, we have the option to do a few fun things other than riding in Yenokavan village, where we check in at a nice resort located above the village on a plateau surrounded by mountains. The resort offers horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, trekking, rafting and zip lining.

You can optionally do a rafting tour here (30,00 € per person) or get a little adrenaline kick at the zip line (25,00 € per person). In Yenokavan we will also have dinner and spend the night.

Day 10: Yenokavan - Navur - Lake Parz - Vanadzor

After breakfast at the hotel, we will ride through Navur village to the eastern part of the Tavush province and reach Parz Lake, located in Dilijan National Park east of Dilijan in Armenia. The lake was formed by natural climatic changes. We continue our ride to Vanadzor where we spend the evening and night.

Day 11: Vanadzor - Dilijan - Semyonovka - Tsaghkadzor - Martnuni or Tasapatagh

On day 11 we first ride to the forested town of Dilijan and through the village of Semyonovka, located on the highest pass in Armenia. The mountainous landscapes are wonderful to enjoy all the way. We continue to Tsapatagh and then downhill to Martuni along the western shore of Lake Sevan, which is still 2000 meters high. We will then spend the night in Martuni or Tsapatagh, two smaller villages.

Day 12: Martuni or Tsapatagh - Selim - Yegegnadzor - Jermuk

With a filled belly, after a good breakfast at the hotel, the ride to Yegegnadzor leads us along the picturesque Vardenyants (Selim) pass. The road is mainly paved, but very nice to enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. It was a part of the former Silk Road route and is very close to the 14th century caravanserai. We will continue to the spa town of Jermuk, famous for its hot springs and mineral water. Our dinner and overnight will also be in Jermuk.

Day 13: Jermuk - Gndevaz - Goris

We will ride through the village of Gndevaz to the medieval monastery, passing the beautiful Ketchut reservoir. We continue to the south of Armenia with a stop in the town of Goris. In the evening we will be in Goris to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 14: Goris - Tatev - Khndzoresk - Kapan

First, the majestic Tatev Monastery from the 10th - 15th century awaits us today. There, you can take an optional flight on the longest non-stop aerial cable car in the world. Afterwards, we will continue to the cave town of Khndzoresk. Here we can stop for a short hike to explore the magnificent canyons and cross the adventurous suspension bridge. We continue along a tarmac road and ride to the southern gates of Armenia. Our dinner and overnight will be in Kapan today.

Not far from the Tatev Monastery there is a natural monument called the "Devil's Bridge" that was built over the Vorotan River. There are some hot springs and other beautiful natural formations under the bridge. Furthermore, it is possible to do canyoning here (price on request).

Day 15: Kapan - Noravank - Khor Virap - Yerevan

Today, we enjoy our last breakfast before heading back to Yerevan. We ride along the eastern shore of Lake Sevan and reach Vardenyants Pass. We stop at the Orbelyans (Seilm) caravanserai, located on the former great Silk Road route, and then continue our ride to the Noravank Monastery stemming from the 9th - 14th century. We enjoy our lunch together in a local cave cafe in the Gnishik Gorge. On our way back to Armenia's capital Yerevan we will stop at the Khor Virap Monastery (4th - 14th century), which offers the best view of Mount Ararat, and then arrive in Yerevan where our wonderful journey will come to an end.

Day 16: Departure

Unless you have booked some extra days, today we will take you back to the airport and it is time for you to go home.
