Description
Did you not know! That's because the border triangle between Austria, Italy and Slovenia can still be called an insider tip among bikers.
And it is precisely to this biker's El Dorado that our trip leads, on which we want to take with you both well-known routes (such as the Nockalmstraße), but especially lesser-known passes (such as the Lanzenpass and Monte Zoncolan) under the wheels. And while in the vacation month of August motorcyclists have to share the passes in South Tyrol with cars, campers and buses, we will be almost alone on many routes.
Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Miesbach in Upper Bavaria.
Departure at 8:00 a.m. at the service area Geismühle West (A57) southbound via the highway to our intermediate hotel Karma Bavaria in Miesbach.
For participants who do not want to come to Krefeld, we offer other meeting points along the route.
Individual arrival possible.
Day 2: Over the Großglockner to the Gailtal.
The journey to our base hotel in the Gailtal valley leads, among other things, over the world-famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which is always a highlight even for motorcyclists who have been on it more often.
Day 3: Nockalm Road and Malta High Alpine Road ... Carinthia's highlights.
Our first day's tour takes us, after a short detour to the Turracher Höhe, over the Nockalm Road with its high points Schiestelscharte, Eisentalhöhe and Schönfeldsattel. Afterwards, the tour continues over the Katschberghöhe to the Malta-Hochalmstraße, which offers fantastic panoramas.
Day 4: Cason di Lanza, Lago di Sauris and Monte Zoncolan ... Highlights of Friuli.
Today we cross the Naßfeld Pass into Friuli, where we first take the Lanzenpass/Cason di Lanza under our wheels. Although it is now paved throughout, this pass road is still a bit of an adventure, but rewards with great views of the fascinating Alpine landscape. Although the ride over Monte Zoncolan and along Lago di Sauris is no longer quite as challenging, it still offers plenty of riding fun!
Day 5: Carnic Alps Circuit.
The west ramp of the Stallersattel is so narrow that the crossing of the pass has to be regulated with traffic lights. Reason enough to include this very beautiful route in our loop around the main ridge of the Carnic Alps. It leads us briefly into the Dolomites, where we pass the famous Three Peaks on the ascent to the Misurina Pass. Via the Sella Ciampigotto, already in Friuli, and the Plöcken Pass we return to our base hotel in the Gail Valley.
Day 6: Julian Alps Circuit.
We start our round through the Julian Alps with the rather unspectacular Wurzenpass, before we take the equally challenging and beautiful Vršic under our wheels. The Mangart road up to the Lahnscharte is no less demanding. At 2046 m, the toll road represents the highest legally traveled point in the Julian Alps and offers breathtaking views of the bare surrounding peaks.
Day 7: Rest day.
Today we will have a day of rest, where you can take in the impressions of the last few days or simply relax and let your body rest. Our base hotel with its own outdoor swimming pool as well as the beautiful nature around offer enough incentives to leave the motorcycle behind.
Day 8
Over the Carnic Dolomite Road and the Timmelsjoch to Tyrol.
In order to make it easier for us to say goodbye, our way home leads us first over the Carnic Dolomite Road to South Tyrol, which we leave again over the Timmelsjoch. Through the Ötztal and over the Fernpass we will reach our last stopover hotel, the Best Western Panoramahotel Talhof in Wängle/Tyrol.
Day 9: Journey home.
It's hard to believe how fast a week goes by! Today we unfortunately have to start our journey home, again using the freeway to the Geismühle Ost service area (A57).
Individual travel home is of course possible.
We reserve the right to change the program, route or hotel.
