Optional additional services: |
You’d like to arrive by a car & trailer or van at the first hotel and park there for two weeks? No problem - just let us know! |
- |
Surcharge single room: |
The surcharges are not insignificant. In Romania, as for example in the USA, there are no per-person prices. Room prices are charged (but there is no room at the end of the corridor, it’s a "normal" nice, large double room for single use). Thus it comes to these nevertheless not small single room surcharges. But if you are alone, you can, of course, share a room with another person who is also traveling alone. If you are interested, just let me know, and I will bring you together with another roommate who is also traveling alone. In this case, you will of course stay in double rooms with two single beds! |

Description
Discover the most beautiful sides of Romania on a two-week top-planned tour! The most famous passes (Transfagaras, Transalpina, Alpina of the Banat), the Donaudefileé at the iron gate, and many more nice roads. But also the wildlife of the Danube Delta, the beach life at the Black Sea, and the pulsating capital with the second largest building in the world. Discover (almost) all of Romania - a real holiday on the bike!
The start of the tour is directly in Romania / Timisoara. So you could also arrive by car and trailer or transporter - until Timisoara is a pure highway. You can safely park your car in Timisoara during your holiday (for a fee - approx. 20,-€ per parking space for the whole two weeks, secured, locked, guarded).
Of course, you will get a precise roadbook for each day, which will guide you exactly to the hotel (in paper form and as a gpx format for navigation systems).
Day 1
Vienna - Timisoara
Daily distance approx. 550 km
Today is dedicated to the journey to Romania - you are on the motorway the whole time. Everybody does this boring necessity in his own way - whether fast and continuously or slowly with many breaks. In any case, you should arrive in Timisoara without any problems around 17.00 hrs and can still enjoy the amenities of our wellness hotel (pool, sauna,...).
Day 2
Timisoara - Eselnita
Daily distance approx. 320 km
On the first day we would like to spoil you with curves and beautiful nature. After a ride through the foothills of the Carpathians, we will ride along the famous Danube River (a dream route!) to our hotel. So our tour starts right away, as a motorcyclist can only wish. Our destination for the day is a fantastic hotel right next to the Danube at the iron gate.
Day 3
Eselnita - Targu Jiu
Daily distance approx. 200 km
In the morning you can take a boat trip at the iron gate (approx. 15,-€ p.p. if available) and visit the famous king Decebal carved in stone. Afterward, you ride a few kilometers along the Danube Defilee' and stop at the monastery Tismana (at least one monastery must be seen in Romania, some people even travel here just for the monasteries). At the day's destination Targu Jiu you can either admire the artworks of the world-famous artist Brancusi or relax at the hotel - a top restaurant with shady terraces awaits you there!
Day 4
Targu Jiu - Sibiel
Daily distance approx. 220 km
Another dream day in every biker's life - "Big Mama" is waiting for you - the Transalpina and the famous pass Urdele. It is the highest pass in the Carpathians and guarantees fantastic views and unforgettable impressions. In the evening the next highlight - you will spend the night in the small village Sibiel on a farm. For dinner we invite you to a typical Romanian evening with country specialties, wine, and schnapps - the farmer's wife cooks personally for you! (included in the price!)
Day 5
Sibiel - Sinaia
Daily distance approx. 240 km
Today you will visit THE Dracula castle of Romania - Bran Castle. In the merchant village at the foot of the castle, you can stock up to your heart's content with souvenirs. The final destination of today's tour is the former royal seat of Romania - a beautiful place directly in the mountains.
Day 6
Sinaia - Tulcea
Daily distance approx. 360 km
Now you leave the Carpathians and ride to the Danube Delta. After you have crossed the Danube by ferry, a new, charming landscape begins. At dinner, lovers of freshwater fish will get their money's worth (fresh from the delta). Fish platters, carp soup, pike-perch,... (but of course there's also something for non-fish eaters).
Day 7
Tulcea - Mamaia Beach
Daily distance approx. 130 km
Optional: In the morning your personal boat with a guide will take you to the Danube Delta (price approx. 250 Euro divided by the number of participants) Herons, pelicans, sea eagles, kingfishers will fascinate you as well as the whole idyll of this nature reserve. At noon, you will stop at a fisherman who will serve you fish soup and grilled fish, but it is also possible to participate in one of the numerous excursions offered by the boats at the port into the delta (cost here around 30 to 50 euros per person, depending on the type and duration of the tour). In the late afternoon, you ride about 2 hours to the "St. Tropez" of Romania, the famous seaside resort of Mamaia Beach.
Day 8
Stay at Mamaia Beach
Now you can spend a day relaxing on the sandy beach of Mamaia (of course you can also visit Constanta - I recommend the idyllic harbor with its pubs).
Day 9
Mamaia Beach - Bucharest
Daily distance approx. 300 km
A flat country does not have to be scenically unattractive or boring. First, you ride along the Danube through dense tree-lined avenues and over the vineyards of the famous Murfatlar wine-growing region. Then you cross the Danube again to continue your way into Romania's capital. Also in Bucharest, you will stay as usual in a top hotel with all comforts, pool, wellness, spa.
Day 10
Stay in Bucharest
Today is dedicated to the sightseeing of Bucharest. (Palace of Parliament, Arc de Triomphe, Cathedral,...). By the way, the Palace of Parliament is the second-largest building in the world. After your return, you will relax in your wellness hotel (indoor pool, outdoor pool, sauna...). The evening is at your free disposal - whether downtown, hard rock cafe, or a nice beer garden nearby.
Day 11
Bucharest - Sibiu
Daily distance approx. 320 km
Today you will ride the most famous pass in Romania - the Transfagaras. Unbelievable impressions are waiting for you, which can hardly be captured on photos, a must in the life of every motorcyclist! For lunch, we recommend a sumptuous farmer's picnic on the mountain (all specialties from the local farmers). Your destination for the day is Sibiu, one of Romania's cultural centers. An evening stroll through the city will convince you of this!
Day 12
Sibiu - Timisoara
Daily distance approx. 280 km or 380 km
Today you have the choice. The shorter route leads over country roads directly back to Timisoara to your wellness hotel. There you can relax in the pool, sauna, etc. for tomorrow's journey home. Or you still don't have enough of curves and mountains, then it's about a 100km detour again half the Transalpina up (this time, of course, from the other direction) and only then to Timisoara (Attention - here are about 40km "a little rough" but easy to cope with adapted speed with each bike).
Day 13
Timisoara - Vienna
Daily distance approx. 550 km
As it has begun, it ends - we ride home from Timisoara to Vienna via the motorway.
