More details

Motorcycles: During this trip we ride Kibo 250 cc motorcycles, made in Kenya.
Tour character: During the trip through Kenya we do not reach considerable heights. The day tours are sometimes long, but well feasible. On the way we have time and opportunities to stop and take pictures or visit villages.
Off Road: This trip is suitable for every healthy motorcyclist, we take turns following the paved main roads and then regularly avoid narrow side roads. About one third of the route we ride on dirt roads. These routes are not very difficult to ride even without off-road experience, but off-road experience is recommended. A basic off-road training is very useful as preparation. It teaches you how to handle the bike best off-road. It will certainly increase your riding pleasure. The bikes are light and handy enduros, perfect for the unpaved roads.
Overnight stays: During this trip we will stay in comfortable hotels, resorts or a tented camp. Tents, towels and bed linen are included.
Climate: The temperature is almost the same all year round, between 25 and 30 degrees. Of course, this depends on the altitude and location where you are. From the middle/end of March to the end of May, the south-east monsoon "Kuzi" brings the "big" rainy season, during which it does not rain all the time, but the concentrated rainfall in some regions, especially in the south-east, causes flooding and impassable roads. From the middle/end of October to the beginning of December the northeast monsoon "Kazkazi" is responsible for the "small" rainy season. Travelling is possible during this time, as most earth roads are passable with a few exceptions. The ideal travel times are the dry months from December to March (hot) and from June to October (pleasant).
Clothing: A helmet is mandatory, as is protective clothing with protectors, good gloves and boots or sturdy, high shoes. Because of the heat it is recommended to wear breathable protective clothing. Because of the dust, take a good pair of goggles with you.
Travel documents: Your passport must be valid for at least another six months from the date of entry. In Kenya, German citizens require a visa. The visa fee for Kenya is 50,- US-$, visas can be applied for at the Kenyan embassies and since 01.07.2015 also online. An international driving licence is not required.
Health: The Federal Foreign Office recommends checking and completing the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute for adults when travelling (see http://www.rki.de). Inform yourself in time.

Description

Start and end of this adventurous motorcycle tour is Kenya's capital Nairobi. After arrival we will ride towards the northeast. Here is Mount Kenya, the highest mountain in the country and after Kilimanjaro in Tanzania the highest mountain in Africa. We ride west on unpaved mountain roads, pass small villages, unknown game parks and mainly take small roads to finally reach the Masai Mara National Park. In this large game park we have one day time for a 4x4 safari before we ride back to Nairobi.

This is a unique, varied and not too long motorcycle tour. We use a Kibo 250ccm as a rental motorcycle, it is perfect for this tour. There are direct flights to Nairobi.
