Description

The road begins in Chaves and ends in Faro, and along all the way it's possible to understand the diversity of the Portuguese regions.

For some people, the N2 is the “Route 66” of our country.

Itinerary:

DAY 1

The 1st day of the tour is a connecting stage until the beginning of the N2, in Chaves.

Despite this, do not think that it will be a day without an adventure.

The first part of the route will be on the highway heading west to the city of Amarante.

Arriving in this city you will head northeast towards the "Lands of Basto", a mountainous region and not very well known by tourists, but full of cultural interest and good roads to ride a motorcycle.

In the 2nd part of the day you will ride in the region of “Trás-os-montes” (in literal translation: behind the hills), before arriving at the ancient roman city of Chaves (Aquae Flaviae), where a historical hotel will be waiting for you.

DAY 2

The 2nd day of the tour marks the entrance on the N2!

The 1st part of the route will take you along the hilly region of the Douro, well known for its terraces full of vineyards, and twisty roads.

It's time to leave the Douro River behind and ride in the Montemuro Mountain, before reaching the city of Viseu, home of the people believed to have been the first to populate this part of the peninsula: The Lusitanos.

The 2nd part of the day will take you through the Aguieira Dam and the fabulous Lousã mountain, before ending in the city of Sertã, where you can enjoy the peculiar local cuisine.

DAY 3

The 3rd day of the tour marks a change in the type of terrain.

It's time to leave the mountains and curvy roads behind and enter the Alentejo region.

After crossing the Tagus River (the largest river in Portugal), it's time to enjoy the plains, with its olive trees and cork oaks, before entering the southernmost region of Portugal: The Algarve.

We are approaching the end of the tour… But before arriving there, the route reserves one last surprise: the Caldeirão Mountain with its stunning road full of well-designed curves and excellent asphalt.

The day ends shortly afterwards in the city of Faro, where you can celebrate the end of this beautiful journey on the mark 738 km.

NOTE: This tour is designed to drop-off the motorcycles in Faro.
